Okay, let's be honest: what are you addicted to?

Caffeine, tobacco, internet, books, making lists, potato sticks, bubble gum, and bitching.

When you run out of bubble gum, do you start kicking asses?

Aw it’s an anonymous poll :frowning:

You should make a thread on the Dope about how to deal with your Dope addiction.

If I’d known nobody was going to admit to meth addiction I’d have made it public. I blame … um … whoever I’m using as a scapegoat this week. Barney Frank, I think.

Love, Diet Coke, sleep, opiates, cigarettes, Facebook.

I’ve never even tried meth but I’m hooked on a TV show about the stuff. Now that’s what I call addictive!

By contrast, I can take or leave “Weeds”.

Agreed. I myself would say I’m addicted to carbs. I struggle with weight and nutrition. Emotional or stress eating is something I definitely do and when I start having a feeling that needs to be squashed down I like to hide it under a bag of cookies or something from the “oops we baked too much” display.

I’m coming to see more and more that I use junk food the way my husband uses cigarettes and alcohol. I don’t use either of those. When he’s confronted by stress he’ll say “I’m gonna go smoke a cigarette,” or “I need a drink.” In the same situations I say “what’s in the pantry?”

I do also spend hours on the boards when I should be working. That might be more of a problem than I’m ready to admit.

Just World of Warcraft. I actually gave up caffiene pretty easily.

I checked SDMB, and I’m with you, olives; it’s seriously becoming a problem. Also: Teevee. Video Games. Kitties.

SDMB, internet, caffeine and knitting ( and I am not that good of a knitter and really quite slow. But I luvs me knitting mags. It’s pron.)
Is HUMOR addictive?
Discuss.

Caffeine, in the form of soda.

I was horribly addicted to canned pears in the last month of my pregnancy. I would lie cheat and steal (not from the store, but money from my husband) to get some. I would wake up at night and if there wasn’t any I would drive myself 30 blocks to an all night store to get some. I was always plotting my next can.

Now, its something I sometimes buy, my son seems to like them but I can’t actually remember the last time I had them. Fresh pears are ok, but never have been my fruit of choice.

Compared to that I am not that addicted to caffine. I guess physically because of withdrawl headaches, but there is no psychological component.
