Okay, this is cool.

I was home (kinda unexpectedly, that’s what last-minute dirt-cheap airfare can do to you…) for a couple days over Thanksgiving. Caught up with some friends I haven’t seen since this summer, or even graduation in June.

One conversation blew. my. mind. A good buddy of mine, J, and I went out. We were chatting. He asked if I’d recently talked to another former classmate, who I’ve been avoiding since graduation, so - nope, haven’t. Probably, J says, I haven’t heard the news then. No, I say, what news?

Two items of news, apparently. One: J just signed a 2-year contract with a modelling agency in New York. It’s open for any type of work: print ads, fashion shows, anything. The name escapes me, but apparently, they’re a well-known, high-ranking agency.

Also, he tacked on as an afterthought, he’s gay. He’s known for a long time, but didn’t want to be out at our high school.

I replied: “That’s so cool!”
J: “…that I’m gay??”
Me: “No. Well, it’s great that you’re out about it now. I’ve figured that’s true since about…eighth grade. But you’re gonna be a model!”

I’m so excited for him. One of the guys I went to school with for 12 years is going to possibly be sporting the next hot fashions at New York fashion shows!

That’s all, really.

Sexy! If I ever become single, you’ll tell him about your good friend AwSnappity, right?

Oh crap, reading comprehension setting in. He wouldn’t go for me. C’est la vie.
