So Libby wasn’t ‘hounded’ into lying by any ‘dishonest prosecutor.’ Libby lied as soon as he he got the opportunity to lie.
That proactive approach on his part is probably why he got convicted of obstruction of justice in addition to the perjury charge.
The case was pretty open and shut when you compare it to the multiyear, multisubject witchhunt the Republicans had to conduct in order to get any shit to cling to Clinton.
Now you might have something if Clinton had lied right off about Whitewater, but he didn’t, did he?
About what? Your question is a non sequitor. #1: My beef is with the conduct of the prosecutors and #2 Libby was never indicted for/ charged with / found guilty of ratting out CIA agents, while Bill Clinton did in fact lie about oral sex, so what’s your point?

Did not said that you simpleton, to me it would had been ok to discover the bad things Clinton did, (you know, that “eternal vigilance” thing) when after all that they had only a perjury charge as a result of him trying to hide his dalliances, I think Clinton got what he deserved. The problem was the insane effort done to get there.
With a 10th of that effort, with a Republican prosecutor, that now more than ever I’m convinced he got pressured to look the other way (What, did you think the firings and pressure of republican prosecutors to hunt Democrats but leaving Republicans alone magically avoided touching Fitzgerald?) 2 Republicans staffers had to resign in disgrace. Sadly, I think you are partially correct here, the only difference is that us being so approving of torture is an item that then the enemy uses as a rallying call to arms that can influence even the Middle Eastern men that only a few years ago were just only disapproving of us.
First of all, Clinton was never convicted. And as it turned out, he did not lie. If one defines sex as coitus, then he did not have sex with her. Even if he did lie, I believe that lying about one’s own sexual behavior is not as bad as lying about the fact that your administration went after the spouse of someone that exposed the lies you were telling to lead the nation into an immoral and unneeded war.
More to the point, the Bush-appointed judge and the Bush(Ashcroft)-appointed special prosecutor found otherwise. Playing the outcome of the Libby trial as a partisan Democrat “thing” is disingenuous and dishonest.
