Point taken. And while I’m at it…some KO fact checking.
Please. He’s every bit as partisan and vitriolic than those other guys.
Agent provocateur, I’m beginning to suspect. Jackass, either way.
Who is willing to publicly apologize when busted…
Third time’s the charm, I guess.
I thought- “OK, that’s cool.” and then I read the article.
“You know, you’re right. I have been a little over the top lately. I’m sorry.”
That’s the apology? That’s a Rush level apology!
Or a “big bag of mashed-up jackass” level apology. (Stewart’s right- that was pretty good!)
And what was the second pair of glasses Stewart was wearing and then ended with?
A pair of 2010 New Year’s glasses that light up. He just has them on upside down.
And yeah, a very weak apology. If he actually follows through with less name calling, I’ll buy it. Until then it’s still a cop out.
They were glasses shaped like “2010”, I assume holdovers from New Year’s Eve, that he apparently decided to wear upside down both times he put them on.
eta: I knew I took too long to type that up.
It’s actually a pretty good apology. He didn’t make any excuses or prevaricate or attempt to defend what he said. He just acknowledged that he screwed up with no qualifiers. That’s hard to do even when you’re just a random person, much less a self-absorbed commentator with a large audience.
When has Rush ever apologized?
I was going to say he apologized over the his claim that Michael J Fox was faking his Parkinson’s, but it turns out he didn’t do that.

I guess that does make Olbermann’s better, since it exists. I still think it was weak for the preface where he states that after last night the number of people telling the truth on tv has dropped by 1 or 2 or 3. Since it dropping by 3 only works if he’s suggesting that Stewart lied about him and Maddow. That he later agrees with Stewart would seem to mean that it couldn’t have possibly dropped by 3.
The jab about Stewart peaking as the host of Short Attention Span Theater seems to be included just to remind people that Stewart is a comedian and thus shouldn’t be taken as seriously.
Still, Olbermann did admit he had gone too far. If he backs that up by toning down or bettter yet dropping the name calling, it’ll be a contrite apology. Until then it’s just some noise because he’s worried about Stewart harming his 18-30 demographic. Having Stewart put your face up and mock you like he does Beck and Hannity isn’t good when you’re trying to be the alternative to them.
Nude MODEL? When was this? (But why was that such a bad thing?)
I have Olbermann’s “Worst Person in the World” book, and it’s pretty funny, but as said, he should stick to trying to amuse people. (Signing a petition to get himself fired, smashing up an Ann Coulter doll, etc)
Cosmopolitan. You must have missed that issue.
June 1982, Guin, and he has a cheesy orange tan.
Ah. I was only four at the time.
More into *Redbook *then, I assume.
I thought this was going to be that one apology where he apologized and went on to say that he should have been even more insulting.
(Sorry it that’s in any other links. I can’t get the first couple videos to work.)
But I do think it counts. You’ve really got to watch the video, not just read the transcript. It does come off as sincere. And, just like any other apology by a public figure (or really anyone), only time will tell.
