So in addition to all the stuff from Saturday, there were multiple carts of futures to put out. Plus I was rotation between a 4 car set on 100 South, and the 100 Slide, whenever one went FUBAR. Bonus: Sumitomo(remember them?) had 50 big packages. Normally, they’d go to a pig on Door 35 or 37, but since we don’t use the outside doors on Monday, they all came to the 100 Slide. < headdesk > Between the Slide, the 4 car set, and running assorted things to the package cars, I was busy. Then I got sent to help on 300 north, on the Top Blue set. O God. The one car had boxes stacked up, and blocking the cargo door. I had to parkour into it. Then what ever anacephalic anteater loaded it before me should definitely not pass on there genes. Things were pretty much random shoved in, and nothing was labeled. If the car had been in a high speed crash, and rolled over 10 times it would have been more logically organized.
Me, when the driver showed up: “Sorry, I’ll do what I can.”
Driver: “They’re doing this so we’ll quit.”
All that turned my short day into a long day. And tomorrow might be bad, too. Chantal flooded half of Alamance County last night. Which is where Mebane is. Which is where the supersized hub is, and half the county’s roads were flooded, including I-40/85.
I did my Aldi run afterwards. now it’s naptime.
Good thing it’s not the midnight train to anywhere, or she’d be in for a Journey.
I hope your wife gets some answers soon. It’s very nerve wracking when you don’t have a diagnosis. I do hope it’s nothing serious and that it can be easily treated.
Based on what I could actually understand from the tests, I believe that to be the case. I think whatever problems she has are in the wait-and-see level of seriousness and probably can be treated with either additional medication or increased dosage of what she already takes. That’s the hope, anyway.
nellie - three times around the deck is a mile. It’s interesting - I was passing some people and others were passing me. I feel like I was setting a good pace, and my hoodie was just the right weight so I wasn’t freezing or sweating.
Just back from our first fancy dinner. FCD got the filet and I got the seafood newburg. OMG!! We both got sautéed mushrooms, then he had creme brulee and I got chocolate souffle. We’re both stuffed! And we’re in for the night. This evening’s show is the magician (again) and we got enough of him at his first show.
I rinsed out some unders this morning and they’re mostly all dry. They will be by the time we wake up. That was the big excitement du jour. Chillage now. I miss my recliner.
Afternoon all. Lunch has been lunched and I am getting ready to head for the gym as it is now 92F outside and doing anything else doesn’t seem worth the effort. Have already urinated 3 liters so far today, which is more than usual and which I attribute partially to my do-nothing morning. May have to start taking walks upon arising to see if my system does better when I’m more active (I know, TMI).
Pilot, looked at the menu and concur with your description, but they have bacon and pancakes so I can manage. Another place nearby is called Big Bad Breakfast and I need to try them too.
Sticky Buns, I have those days too, I am seeming to do things normally, but it just seems ‘off’.
rocker, best wishes for a safe and effective surgery.
Had some French Chocolate from the ship I had been on (at least that’s what the wrapper says) and twas a good treat.
nellie, happy belated birthday to a couple guys in your life. And an 11-mile hike!! I’m tired just thinking about it.
No crow stories, but I did get a picture of some of the ravens at the Tower of London so I hope that counts.
Oopsie, hopefully the fix is easy and your washer will behave from now on.
Cookie, best wishes to wife and her treatment, whatever it will be.
doggio, I don’t pretend to understand all the terminology you use, but I can spell FUBAR when I see it. Hang in there and think of the overtime check.
Don’t stop believing that.
FCM, dinner sounds delicious. And I wonder on a 30-day cruise if they change the acts mid-cruise so you don’t see the same thing 3-4 times…
MetalMouse - on the cruise I took with my mom, some performers were replaced, some weren’t. I suspect we’ll get a new batch in Iceland. I hope so, because I’m not impressed with this batch.
Wel, I finished my latest trashy novel so I guess I need to find something else to read.
One observation about all the trashy novels I’ve read - all the men were amazingly considerate lovers who made sure their wives reached “fulfillment” every time. Great guys, the lot of them!
Happy Monday, all! I hope everyone has the same number of fingers as they started off the weekend with…
My company gave us a holiday for today which is much appreciated, as tomorrow kicks off our quarterly busy streak which will last through early August. So today has been relaxation with intermittent chores
JtC thanks for the laugh about GG I now feel the need to get a dark face mask and see if my cats even notice.
cookie I hope your wife gets some answers and relief soon. I can’t imagine how miserable it’s got to be to have such an extended period of dizziness.
pilot You’ll be finding coffee spots for weeks…
rocking_chair good luck with your surgery!
nellie Great news about your back - I’ve heard that medication can really help some people and I’m glad you’re one of them. Also, I always look forward to your posts because even when you’re frustrated or having a bad time of things, you always manage to find at least one small thing to be thankful for or happy about.
My cats don’t like it when I wear headbands that have bobbles. I think it makes me look taller. A bit like a cat defence system when they fluff up and arch up to look taller and bigger.
Howdy Y’all! We had quality cee-mint pond time followed by nappage and day drinkin’. Then we et an early sup. Now we await the commencement of fartfest. The biiiiiig trash can got emptied early this mornin’ as in right at seven a.m., so it and the neighbor’s can got hauled all the way back up from the road to where they stay all week. Thus is the news from swampland.
Nellie glad the med is helpin’ you! The water in the cee-mint pond is a little warmish due to the hawt weather of late. Still feels good however.
Oopsie hope the washer fix is an easy one.
Pilot I am the early riser here. The master bedroom is just off the kitchen, so I make sure the door is closed and the only light I turn on is the one over the stove. However I am a slacker maker of coffee. I measure coffee into the reusable Keurig filter, set my mug on the coffee maker, turn it on (hey baby what’s your sign) and wait until it does its thang. My mug is a sippy mug and all I add is a sploosh of half and half and an ice cube. The only light I need for that is from da fridge. I even leave the filter in the Kuerig until I finish the first cup. I have yet to manage to drop or spill. Of course, now that I have made a public comment, I probably will tomorrow.
Hippie I am glad BBBOO, Sunflower and you had a good time.
JtC is poor GG over his trauma yet? The horror he experienced at his mama turnin’ into a monster!
Oh well now we need to do some testing to see if there’s a difference in a physical/3d mask vs something like a mud mask! Sorry pets of the MMP, you might be in for a long week…
The sister drama continues. My sister finally sent me a signed and notarised copy of the claim form for the State of California Unclaimed Property. I sent it to the Comptroller’s Office along with all of the documents I’d sent back in June. (Or was it May?) They wrote back saying my claim forms were not signed. I know I did that last Summer. Anyway, I got them signed and notarised (again) and sent them as .pdf files to the Controller’s Office. There’s just one more thing they need… a copy of my sister’s State ID or Driver’s License.
She doesn’t have either. She needs her birth certificate to get an ID. She tried to get her birth certificate so that she could get an ID, and she was told that she needed an ID to get her birth certificate. I told her back in December (I think) that she needed to send me a copy of her ID, and she didn’t have one then. I guess it’s just been too much trouble to try to get one in the last seven months. Anyway, I told her she has to send me a copy of her ID, or else we don’t get our mom’s IRA. And I told her that we have a limited time to submit it. I told her to get on it. Call DSHS and see if they can help. She says she’ll get on it.
I missed this the first time around. Hope that you enjoyed your lunch!
Yay!
Hugs to you and MrsCookie.
Got my Tennessee medical insurance set up for August and she’s working on the Texas insurance. I also got the first step done to begin disbursement of my main 401k and got some packing done. Not bad for a newly minted RDOS.
I’m seriously jealous, I know you all are going to have a great time!
I sure do hope that she gets some relief, it sure doesn’t sound like a whole lot of fun.
Do you get air at gas stations? Does someone do it for you or do you have to do it yourself? Do you own a pressure gauge and know how to use it or do you have people for that sort of thing? (We have a small portable compressor and hubs checks the air pressure on all tires the first of the month and refills as needed.)
That is something I seriously do not miss. Death by AC isn’t a thing in WV and it is so nice!
Ouch about the coffee! I hope it came out of the furniture. If you are going to live with light colored tile, you really do need a mop. Get a swifter, they don’t take up much room and are easy to use for spills. They also work well when someone knocks his coffee over and it runs down the cabinet.
I think he secretly likes having an excuse to have a cane to wave around. It is good that he’s up and about again, he’s really the one who makes the block a neighborhood.
How’s your garden looking? Any chance of pics? My little patch is so very late, it makes me sad to see what the neighbors have done.
Sometimes it just seems like you are half a second off all day long. I hope you are back in sync soon.
I hope your surgery is as great as mine were, seeing is amazing
Hearing your love makes me so happy. Every child deserves a mom like you.
I’m so happy your back is doing better, wow about the hike!
Besides fixing all of the cats, I also fed them kibble and gave them water. We had acreage so the cats tended to stick around instead of going off to bother the neighbors or get eaten by coyotes. The crows liked kibble and clean water. They figured out pretty quickly that the giver of kibble was under the umbrella, I think they just harassed me for that long to be sure I knew my place in their world.
GG got over it as soon as I got my face back. Once Hubs had caught him, I tried talking and gently touching him but he wasn’t having any of it.
Hubs stopped shaving the day after he was discharged from the Corp. About once every ten years, he wonders what his face looks like and shaves. It’s always entertaining to see the fuzzbutts’ reactions. We used to have a dog and she almost barked the house down the first time she saw his face!
Is a storm on the way?
It was so traumatic that it took a tube of squeezy crack to calm his nerves.
Sigh. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. (I had to get my birth certificate two years ago, Riverside Co. No ID was needed.)
It’s OK so far. You’ve got white skin.
So, if you are still online, I need some edible help please. I don’t like them, but Hub’s favorite cousin is probably dying and her daughter begged me to bring her (daughter) some. She likes sativa. Is there anything else I need to know before going to the dispensary? I like to pretend that I have some idea as to what I’m doing.
So, yeah, that’s my news for the day. Hubs favorite cousin is in Virginia, in an induced coma and organs in sepsis. It doesn’t look good and her husband isn’t able to live alone. Daughter, who is disabled and dying of heart issues caused by the cancer radiation treatments, lives in NC and isn’t able to take care of him either, so it is a whole mess.
Tomorrow we will be going to the other side of the state so we can take Gina and hubby to lunch, cousins hubby has swallowing issues and can only eat maybe six different things so he won’t want to come with us.
It already rolled through, and back up to 80. Sooo glad I installed the ac yesterday. It just feels wet.
I just recently went through the process of getting a copy of my birth certificate so I could get an enhanced DL in order to get on a plane. I don’t recall exactly what was involved, but it was very easy. Contact the town clerk of where she was born and find out what their requirements are.
