I am fascinated by the meticulous records and penmanship that existed in the days before mechanical record-keeping and would like to know if there is a place that would offer old accounting ledgers for sale. I tried Ebay, but they have nothing even recemlbling what I am looking for. Do any of y’all now of a shop like this?

Don’t know about a shop for this, but “antique ledger” on Ebay currently gives four auctions: Lumberyard ledger from 1870’s, farm ledger from 1890’s, “antique accounts ledger” (doesn’t say what the focus was) from 1880’s, and Hawaiian ledger scrapbook from 1912. They’re not numerous, but they’re out there.

I appreciate your going to that trouble for me, and I am wondering how I could have missed these on my search. (I put in antique accounts ledger as well). Although they are not exactly what I was looking for, I will keep searching in that category.
