Kind of a shame that budget restrictions and display space limits most likely prohibit getting more copies of that set and leaving each at a different stage of completion.
I decided that it was time to start selling off and donating some of this junk just taking up space. As I’m sure I mentioned, my dad had 8 phones and a smartwatch. I’ve been working on getting them up and running to sell. Last night I sold an Apple Watch and a Motorola phone. Unfortunately, the watch came back because when the girl tried to pair it, it said it was locked to my dad’s Apple ID. When I went out onto the porch to meet her and give her money back, I tripped and then caught myself. On my bad leg. Since then it has hurt wore than previously and I did not even attempt to make it up the stairs to go to bed. MusicMan brought my CPAP downstairs and I slept on the couch. Then my mom was mad at me because she had told me that I could sleep in her bed and she could sleep in her chair if necessary. And while I realize that I could have done this, does it really matter which one of us is sleeping in a displaced position?
Annie took full advantage of the situation and slept with me last night. I tried to ignore her, but my efforts were futile. MusicMan has fixed the watch and the girl wants to come back today to get it. I’m unsure if I want this to happen or not. It was a decent amount of money, but if something goes wrong with the ‘fix’, I don’t want madness to ensue.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 96 and N.O.S. for the day. A RDOS day is in store. JDD and Partner are comin’ over for quality cee-mint pond time and general overall silliness as is our wont when we are all together. When we decide we’re hongry, boneless, skinless chikin strips shall be grilled and served with sallit and cheesey garlic bread. 'Twill be a good day.
Wordy hope you feel better soonest.
JtC they deserve the stoopid prize.
red glad Nelson and you made it to dad’s place safely.
Sticky_Buns hope you’re doin’ better this mornin’. Is it possible for the watch buyer to attempt to pair the watch to her phone while in your presence to make sure it happens?
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Scruffy used to “bury” her cookies in various corners - I kinda wonder if it was her survival mode after living on the streets.
I love sleeping on clean sheets - but not enough to change them every day! Plus making a king bed is a bit of a challenge. Our bedroom is on the smaller side so the furniture is kinda crammed in, not leaving a lot of room to reach 2 of the corners of the mattress. So clean sheets is an occasional pleasure, not daily (or nightly, as the case may be.) Plus, you know, washing the sheets.
Depending on which website you believe, we may or may not get rain today. But it looks like Mon-Weds, hell returns before we drop back into the 80s for a while. FCD is going to work on wiring the boat today. MIL is going to a bible study at her old apartment complex. When I pick her up, I’ll get BIL to sign the bill of sale.
I’m going to be here waiting for the windshield guy to come and fix the Elantra. After he’s gone, I need to get a 28" and a 14" wiper blade for said vehicle. Then Moanday, I’ll take it back to be verified and pick up the inspection certificate.
It’s also critter fountain cleaning day, and at the moment, I’m running the first batch in the good ice maker. It didn’t take long to start hearing it putting out bits of ice. So yay! It’s smaller than the old ice maker, which will be put somewhere unless we want cubes. After I run some vinegar thru it - we have sorta hard water here and I don’t want to store it with residue within.
As you can see, I have a full and exciting day ahead. Oh, and I need to see if my cantaloupe is ready to be harvested. So, wow, such a day!!
Mornin’ all! Just at 6am as I start driveling after catching up reading the last 60+ pearls of wisdom y’all have deposited here for posterity. I’m caffinatin’ and balconatin’ while the sky is slowly lightening, Jupiter, Mars, and with binocs maaaybe Uranus have been spotted between the patchy high clouds. NWS sez presently 76/24 on the way to 91/33 with puffy clouds and a likelihood of somebody getting rained on for a few minutes someplace. Welcome to the tropics.
Cutting to the chase, BB arrived a bit later than expected, having had 2 whole hours of sleep in the last 24. She arrived at work Thu night to discover she’d been “promoted” to overnight nurse manager for the OR team. That role had been her regular gig for years before she self-demoted back to getting bloody in the trenches as a way to reduce her work stress. So she’s one of the few qualified to wear that big hat when the planned person bails out for whatever reason. Which is usually a pre-scheduled duty, but not tonight. I also learned what that entailed. They have 6 full scale trauma ORs and 30 (yep thirty) regular ORs in that building. Plus another dozen in the added wing. And all not quite 50 teams were all running full tilt from when she showed until she was relieved. Late of course. It was a war zone out there Thu night / Fri wee hours.
Once home she’d slept 2 hours, gotten her hair done (looks hawt) and come to see me. She was however fully energized and after a quick gift exchange and a joint shower suitable reunioning was had in quantity. Followed by a nap, tapas dinner, and back to the pad for what turned into an early bedtime, an extended cuddle, and a LOT of sleeping, like 9 hours for me and she’s still hard at it in there. Poor thing.
I learned a bit more about the “funeral rehearsal”. I’d misunderstood. These folks are Catholic, but they’re also Haitian. So both the family and the community thing is real big.
What’s really going on is a full-up public funeral / memorial / reception on Sun afternoon for a horde of well-wishers, and a separate close-family-only viewing / mini-memorial / joint commiseration / meet and eat the evening prior. So maybe more akin to the “rehearsal dinner” for the insiders that goes with weddings. The “close family only” event promises to be about 30 people, and as honorary family BB was invited. Invitations one doesn’t turn down in a tight community.
Once she’s awake we’ll figure out how to spend the rest of our brief time together and I expect I’ll send her on her way aways after noontime.
We both commented multiple times how, even setting the bedroom shenanigans entirely aside, it’s just effortless spending time with each other. Effortless and fun. We both feel real fortunate to have encountered the other. And we both wish there was more of it. With luck we’ll have a run of good scheduling luck to offset the bad run of the last almost 2 months.
A bunch of other trivialities in my world, but that’s enough for now. I did scandalize a young med student yesterday, about which more later if I remember. And we fed poor Starving Concierge again last night, bringing her a full meal from the sports bar next door to the tapas place.
Welp, it’s sunrise. At the summer solstice, from my POV the Sun rises behind a ~20 story beachfront condo. So I get an extra few minutes balconatin’ reprieve while it climbs up or out the side of that building and into direct blinding view. Today is the first day it’s been clear enough of clouds right at the horizon and I see the Sun is now rising directly out of the section of sea visible to the south of that building and north of the next. It’ll be fun to follow sunrise along the horizon until winter solstice as it alternates between open sea, behind tall buildings and behind just-barely-taller-than-the-horizon buildings. I’ve placed my guess for where Winter solstice sunrise will be. Come December we can grade my estimate.
Time to reluctantly return indoors so I can see to type.
As to y’all:
FCM Congrats for transformers physically, f not electrically, installed. And for rain.
Late Aged MIL used to treat her daughters like they were 5 and 7. Despite the fact they were both neurotypical Doctorate-equipped success stories. It’s something Moms do. Or at least something clueless Moms do. Sweet, but clueless.
JtC Hooray for closing. Once the money does arrive, Hubs will need something new to attach his free-floating anxiety to. Maybe you can get him worried about building the perfect fermention room so his anxiety is about something he can actually influence, nay control. He’ll be mentally healthier and get an awesome fermentation room out of it. Win-win.
BFF Hubs is under no obligation to keep the rain barrels now that he has them. Funny how often people can’t let go of stuff even if they just got it for free yesterday and had done without it or the equivalent for the last several decades. Once it’s on their land they must keep it and use it … somehow. No matter how much trouble that is or how little they actually need it.
And as Swapyalmost said, yeah Mead and weed is a good combo, whether as a band or a digestif. Indulge forth!
Coppertone: Here’s hoping this is finally the gig for you. Close to home and everything. Yaay! if it comes to pass.
Sticky: Moms again. The difference between who sleeps displaced is simple: Moms want to suffer first. Despite their diminished capacity in old age.
Flyboy: Hooray for Smuggler’s Tunnel and progress on cars and bikes. The nice part about Wifey RN’s approach to scheduling your life is you just don’t have to think about your agenda: it’s all laid out for you.
Bravo for you!
We had a thread once about waking up annoyed at your SO over something they did in a dream. Many men reported their SOs did this, much to their chagrin. Many women reported they did this and felt it was their right to be be pissed all day at real him over stuff her dream version of him had done. Many more people were mystified such a thing even existed. I don’t think I was ever on the receiving end of such, but if so it would have been from HL.
Happy belated Doperversary to Lily!
boofae: Glad to hear the irritating distraction has been cleared off campus.
Yaay’s boo’s and {{hugs}} as appropriate to all and sundry
Happy (had to look it up) Sattiday and weekend to one and all. May your day be as good as it can be.
Morning all. Got the required 7 hours of sleep last night, so ready to face the day (whatever day that is–I know this is Saturday but my brain is trying to convince me it’s Sunday). A load or two of laundry and running the dishwasher are on the agenda, and maybe some gym time. It’s supposed to reach 97F today according to the weather wizards so I’m not motivated to do much outside, albeit the lawn needs mowing (on the list for tomorrow). Just finished a BIG Breakfast, so no more food for awhile.
talkie, feel better soon. You’re doing exactly the right thing, the family can survive a day or so without you…
FCM, haven’t been back to Cracker Barrel in a year or so, just sort of dropped off my list of Sunday dinner places and no real reason to go back. Hope the windshield repair goes smoothly. And yeah! for the good ice!
flyboy, I can remember a place (Ruby Tuesday’s IIRC) that had something like that Tower Burger, 2 8oz patties with the fixin’s. Could eat it in one sitting (I was much larger then), but it was a struggle.
Sticky Buns, I’d give the girl first crack at the repaired watch, have MusicMan explain what he did and maybe have her pair it while at your place (I am an ignoramus on these things, so don’t know if that is possible). Your call. Hope the leg feels better today.
Pilot, glad BB and you could get together (in more ways than one, wink wink, nudge nudge). It sounds like you two could really get used to each other, but you being a retired gentleman of leisure and her working a massively time-consuming job…I’m sure you’ll work it out one way or the other.
And time to sort the dishes in the dishwasher and get the shirts into the clothes-washer (and not mix them up). Have a good Sun…dammit, Sattiday all.
Well, then, you didn’t know that they’ve got their freekin’ HALLOWEEN decorations on display now. IT’S JULY and more than three months till Halloween. Sheesh!!
The good ice maker seems to work fine. The issue is, tho, that when you dump the ice in the freezer, it becomes a big block. So I’m dumping a little at a time in a plastic bowl, and when it’s no longer wet, I break it up and dump it into the bin. So an extra step. The good ice better be worth it!!!
I had been walking around the house without my cane, but today that isn’t possible. So, I decided that was a good reason to go to the ER and bump up this process a little faster. So, I’m here now in a room waiting to see the doctor. I am fairly confident that I will shut down his suggested first line of treatment - cortisone shot - because I am bipolar (HULK SMASH!!) and it would be bad news. We shall see.

Happy Saturday morning, all! I don’t have much time to write: my personal training session was supposed to be at noon, but about an hour ago my trainer texted to ask if we could meet at 11am instead. I said sure, but then I did some bill-paying and now I have less than 30 minutes for postin’.
Belated happy Doperversary, susan !
Yesterday I jumped into the new proposal with both feet. Turns out the prop leadership team has identified two people from elsewhere within the company who can “help”: folks with no proposal experience but who are interested in learning. One of them is a gem, but the other’s attitude is kinda crappy so far (though she seems capable). Mentoring folks slows things down a little, but without them I’d have more weekend work to do…que sera, sera. I’m giving myself today off; I’ll do a little work tomorrow morning.
Anyway, between the proposal and my regular day job Friday was non-stop. Issues and questions from every corner, plus I had to prepare our monthly deliverables for my boss’s review (they’re due to the customer on Monday) and submit my weekly report to him. I wound up working 11 hours yesterday, on top of some extra time I’d also already worked. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to log off/leave early at all this week due to the looming proposal deadline, but if an opportunity presents itself I’ll be able to take advantage.
Exactamundo. These days, when I do go into the office I’m driving west in the mornings and east in the evenings – against traffic. Like you said, there’s still traffic, but it’s soooo much better than if I were going the other way.
Yes. And I’m amused that apparently you missed the paragraph where I wrote out “proposal/proposals” three times in regular-sized font, but picked up on “prop” from the small-font paragraph after it – which I prefaced with a disclaimer to the effect that folks probably wouldn’t understand what I was talking about.
I often have the same reaction – resulting headache and all – when I think/realize someone is flirting with me.
One or two bags a day?!?
I tend to build in 1- or 2-hour sessions on weeknights, and 2- or 3-hour sessions on weekends. The number of bags I can get through per session varies depending on how many bricks/how complex the steps are. Apparently I also build relatively quickly, but I definitely benefit from having the time and ability to focus like that. I will often start a new build on a Friday evening and spend most of Saturday and Sunday afternoons on it. I don’t always have availability/energy on weeknights, so weekends are my big “push” times.
I find that ~24 hours of it being in the same state is enough for me.
OMG WHY WOULD YOU PUT AN IDEA LIKE THAT IN MY HEAD?!?!
(Money is definitely a consideration, but lack of display space is truly what would keep me from starting to do this…maybe in the next house! LOL!)
AZ has constant construction and only recently started requiring trucks to cover their loads, so chipped and cracked windshields were a very common experience back there. I’ve watched many a mobile windshield guy work on our vehicles. I’d suggest you ask the windshield guy before putting the car in the garage, he might want to wait until the rain stops so he has room to work outside.
Back up to 19 lbs now that things have settled down, but I had planned for that when I choose the cabinets and their locations. They have wide bases and I always put the heavy stuff on the bottom. GG isn’t the first jerkface in our lives!!!
I’m glad you are having a good visit with your Dad and hope you have a safe trip back.
My spies tell me that the lights weren’t on last night. Currently it’s in the high 80’s with a high of 101. I dunno if they have power today but if they don’t have it today, they won’t have it tomorrow.
Our current bed is the easiest one I’ve ever had when it comes to dressing it. It is so easy that sheets get changed a couple of times a week. I’ve currently got a load of bedding in the washer and will probably do towels later.
Our first bed was such a challenge that it took two healthy 30 somethings a good hour to change out.
He didn’t ask for a tracking number for the check. He didn’t think to ask if it was going to be UPS or FedEx. I’ve been smoking the good stuff since I got up, LOL!!!
The plan was for him to sell them for 500 each and keep the money, but BFF has always admired my garden. I’ve noticed that she’s adapted several of my ideas for her yard, so it isn’t surprising she would also want a rain water harvesting system now that they have the expensive parts. (Roof, gutters and rain barrels.)
They are on a well, but have already had to drill it deeper once so she doesn’t want to stress it more than she has to by watering posies and babby trees.
I’m glad you and BB are finally together for a little bit. Sad that it’s for such a short amount of time. Thanks for explaining about the funeral rehearsal, that makes much more sense than my vision of them practicing carrying a loaded casket (even unloaded, those things are heavy!) down the front steps and putting it in the car without dropping it.
So I’ve been up since way too early for me. Hubs sets his alarm for 0600, but usually I can go right back to sleep to the comforting sounds of his morning routine behind the now closed door.
Today he realized that he can’t see the front door or driveway from his room and we are expecting an overnighted envelope. This house is also not wired for a doorbell.
I think he’s probably physically opened the door 10 times an hours to look at the porch table for the package since then. He’s also trying to figure out what it is going to take to get a camera doorbell working and if that will need an electrician.
Imma gonna call the title company in a few minutes and see if I can get a tracking number, cause he’s going to wear a hole in the floor if he doesn’t stop going back and forth.
Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 18c/64f with no predicted change, and with isolated showers. Weather app says “Hope you enjoy fucking up your shoes in the fucking rain.” It rained overnight, car was wet this morning, but hasn’t done much all day. The sky is grey, bordering on black though, so almost feels like a thunderstorm is imminent although the hourly forecast on the app says not.
Last night was reasonably quiet, 'im indoors made dinner and we watched a film before I went to bed. He stayed up to watch something else as he had no plans for today. I was up early, did feline bums and tums, then took myself to the gym. One intense spin class (320 cals), one kettlebells class (probably around 280 cals) and an hour on the cross-trainer (623 cals) and I was done for the day.
Went home for a shower, got my hair washed and dried, had some lunch then headed into town for a few errands. We are out tonight, and a friend is coming down from Manchester by herself so we’re meeting her shortly as she’s just messaged to say she’s already arrived.
We’ll walk up from ours to the place where she’s staying, then go to a local Turkish restaurant for food, and then on to our evening gig. If we’ve got time, we plan to take her to the Posada because it’s such a nice pub and quite quirky inside. Tonight’s gig is a band we’ve been fans of for almost 10 years - they are doing an acoustic performance tonight, with support from another acoustic singer from a different band. Should be fun, and it’s sold out so I’m expecting a warm and sticky night at the inn.
No plans for tomorrow, I have a bag of stuff to deliver to Little Paws to be used for tombola prizes, and we may bestir ourselves to take a bunch of rubbish down to the local tip. There’s a bunch of things in the junk room that need to go there because we can’t get them in our normal rubbish and recycling bins, and the tip guys will be able to sort out what can go for recycling too.
I’m back home. Probably going to be the most expensive ace bandage of my life. He did the X-rays and they were fine, so he discharged me with a wrap around my calf. Said to see my regular guy again if necessary.
In better news, MusicMan is currently making lunch for me!
As it happens, the rain did stop and the new windshield is in place. Once FCD gets home and puts the new wiper blades on, we’ll pass inspection. Then on Moanday, BIL, Daughter, and SIL need to go with me to get the bill of sale notarized. I found the official Merrylande form on line, as opposed to the generic one I’d originally downloaded. Both buyer and seller need their signatures notarized. So we’ll take care of that in the afternoon, and that should be that until they go to MVA on Firday and complete the transfer. Then they can get the damned car out of my driveway!!!
So now I await the call to pick up MIL. Chillage ensues till then.
Made our monthly run to the Saturday Dumpling Market this morning. They are apparently going from a pop-up operation to a restaurant in the fall. I predict success, as their food is really good.
Dawter visits tomorrow. I gave her an early bequest of a number of silver teaspoons and souvenir spoons, some of which had initials and dates on them. These date as far back as the 1800s (at least) and were given to me by my mother, who in turn got most of them from her grandmother. I was able to use my genealogy database to narrow down when they were made and who they originally belonged to, and typed a 3-page narrative to give to her when she visits. I also have some silver serving spoons that survived the Depression (when most of the silver was sold for cash) that I’ll give to my youngest son, who is a good cook. These were always present at the annual Thanksgiving dinner.
The rest of the day will be spent hiding from the muggy and the hot, as well as t-storms.
Yep. The Saturn V took IIRC correctly about a month, the Space Shuttle even longer. I’m very obsessive about the builds and take pictures to document each bag as it’s completed. Two bags in one sitting is actually really rare and usually only happens at the beginning with the big framing pieces.
I also keep all of the boxes with the instructions, empty bags, and any spare pieces in a little baggie.
ETA: Started to install the Jeep step-bars this morning, am now punting and taking it to a place where they will install them for me (for a fee, of course).
It’s been a week. I returned yesterday from 1,000 miles of driving around the state.
It’s currently 71F with sunny skies. Temperatures will soar to 90F by late afternoon.
I have skimmed but haven’t really retained much.
VanGo, I’m glad you saw the doctor, but I’m sad to hear you’re on another round of Lyme disease medications.
Hippy, I’m glad the treatment is going well.
FCM, as always, vent away. Hopefully, all is well with the car, and the transfer goes smoothly.
So, this 1000-mile drive…
It was supposed to happen NEXT week. Imagine my surprise at the office last Monday upon receiving a call from the SEMD safety dude. He was at the front door of my building. Anyway, I let him in and explained this was supposed to happen starting next week, and he was insistent it was this week. I showed him the email. There is nothing to be done for me now to rearrange my whole week and travel arrangements because he flew in from Michigan. He was apologetic, but it was still just a damn cluster.
On top of that, Monday was just a weird day in general, with all kinds of people in the lobby looking for personnel who were NOT in. Then we had a process server, and finally, an employee from 10 years ago showed up looking for an EIN for my organization because she needed it for some paperwork. Plus, the architect (who does not fall under us) was in, and she was just a problem child from the word go. I had to help her out several times. All the while, I had meetings, tried to cancel, and then started a new travel authorization and tried to accomplish some work.
I had to cancel my GOV reservation for next week and reserve for this week. I got that done, then parked my Jeep in the secure lot and moved the GOV out so I could take it home overnight because I had to go home and pack.
I left the office at 2:30 and ran the GOV through the carwash because no one had washed it for quite some time. Which, really irritates me because if it’s dirty when one returns the vehicle, you need to clean it. Shitty to leave it dirty for the following user, not to mention unsafe if the windshield is smeary.
Anyhow, I washed the GOV, got home, ate dinner, packed, and went to bed around 9:00. I got up before 3:00 a.m., showered, packed my toiletries, and was on the road by 4:00 a.m. As always, I drove up over Chinook Pass, which was stunning, and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise at the summit. I was also eaten alive by skeeters when I stepped outside to take a picture. I drove the rest of the way to Yakima and got there a little after 6:00. I grabbed some coffee and headed to the Yakima office. I ensconced myself in the little conference room there and waited for the safety dude to show up. I took care of work in the meantime. The safety guy showed up a little after 8:00, and the “inspection” lasted less than 10 minutes. I had to stick around for a bit because I had a Teams meeting with my boss and the MPA, so we could pick five applicants for a job interview.
With the meeting behind me, I was back on the road by 10:45 and on my way to Spokane Valley. For those of you unfamiliar with my state, that is pretty much on the WA/ID border. Instead of bombing up I-82 to I-90, I opted to take Hwy 24 to Hwy 241 to Hwy 26 to Hwy 395 and then up to I-90 for the last bit of the drive. It was a GREAT drive, and I didn’t have a single vehicle before me until I reached Hwy 26. It was beautiful on Hwy 24.
I got to Spokane around 2:00 p.m., called my husband, and then checked into my hotel room. I met some old friends for dinner around 5:00 or so because I was pretty hungry, having not had anything to eat all day except some Twizzlers while driving.
Wednesday, I rolled out of bed at 4:00 a.m. and showered. I worked in the hotel room until 7:30 or so. I packed up, checked out, drove to the Spokane Valley office, and waited for the safety dude. He arrived around 8:15, and the inspection was very short.
I was back on the road by 9:30 a.m. and opted to take Hwy 2 from Spokane to Wenatchee. It was another stellar and scenic drive, and after getting around some initial bozos who couldn’t manage to get to the speed limit, I had the road mostly to myself. I arrived in Wenatchee around lunchtime and tried to figure out where I would eat. I ate at an old Red Robin knock-off (same menu and everything). It wasn’t great, but it was enough. After eating, I wanted to go down to the river and realized I had a meeting with my boss. I couldn’t get Wi-Fi anywhere, so I drove clear to the other end of town to the Wenatchee office. By then, my boss couldn’t meet, so I worked in the office until around 3:00 p.m. and then left to check into my hotel. I checked in and was hidden from the heat outside. By five or six, I was getting hungry, but I didn’t want to go downtown or to the Market area because parking is a bitch, and it was 107F. Yes, 107F. I didn’t want to eat in an old building with no AC. Nope, no way. I ate at Wendy’s, then returned to the hotel, turned on my AC again, and shut the curtains because the sun was beating on that window.
On Thursday, I again woke up at four and showered. I worked until 7:00 a.m., then headed to the Wenatchee office to wait on the safety dude. He was late because he went to our old location, even though I had provided the proper address to him back in April. Anyhow, the inspection was rushed, but it got done. I worked a bit more and then packed up to drive to Mount Vernon.
From Wenatchee, I took Hwy 97/2 north up to Pateras, cut over on 153, and then over to Hwy 20, which is the North Cascades scenic highway. It was a beautiful drive, and I enjoyed most of the drive without traffic in front of me. I drove up over Washington Pass and dropped down to Diablo and Ross Lake. Once again, the drive was epic. I took 20 all the way to Minkle Road and then dropped down in Sedro-Woolley and Burlington. I checked into my hotel room, talked to the MPA, and then went back out to grab dinner. I got back and asked to change rooms because mine smelled like an old ashtray, and they could accommodate me. I’ll never stay there again, but for one night it was fine.
Finally, on Friday morning, I woke up at 3:30, showered, worked for a bit, checked out, and was at the Mount Vernon office by 6:00 a.m. I worked until the Safety dude showed up, and then my boss and the director wanted a meeting with me, so I couldn’t get out of there when I wanted to leave. Consequently, it was close to 11:00 when I left, and the drive back to Olympia was awful. It was a slog on I-5 all the way down, and I was in stop-and-go traffic from Everett to Olympia: numerous accidents and just overall heavy traffic.
I got to Olympia after 2:00 p.m. It took me an additional hour to get there because traffic was so bad. I fueled up the GOV, ran it through a carwash, and drove it back to the secure lot at the office. I parked it, got my Jeep out of the lot, and saw a giant-assed patch of pitch on the driver’s side front fender.
I drove home in stop-and-go traffic and reached my house at 3:40.
I put just over 1000 miles on the GOV when it was all said and done.
I need to go get a replacement filter for the furnace, but I don’t want to go anywhere today. I’d like to chill out and relax. I’ve watered my posies and given the birds fresh water, and soon, I’ll tidy the kitchen.
I don’t have any plans. I may or may not do laundry.
