(Old) Airmail in the MMP

I would love to see/hear that! IF the FB post is public, you should be able to at least share the URL here…

Howdy Y’all! Mowage did get accomplished and about half an hour after I finished it rained. I really enjoyed sittin’ on the back porch with a beerverage and admirin’ my hard work whilst it rained. Plus the smell of rain and fresh mown yahd smelled soooooo good. Nappage and more day drinkin’ were also accomplished. I made us BLT’s and oven fries for sup. We’ll get burgers from Jack’s after we deheathenate tomorrow.

I have read all, but da bear is tahrd, so I will respond later. Methinks an early bedtime and perhaps sleepin’ with Ben is in store. Sinuses are a little achy.

Well, just read my morning message and outside of the early activities, I was pretty much wrong on most everything else. The Champions League game started at 11am local time, so no early gym visit, and went to overtime so didn’t get out of the house until after 2pm. Got back around 5pm and since it hadn’t rained as expected and the ground was dry, I decided to mow the lawn. Of course the gas tank was half-full and the gas can was empty but I managed to get it all done (5 bags worth of clippings) before I ran out of fuel. Have eaten my Big Bowl O’Pasta and am probably going to watch a little of the basketball game here in a bit, but nothing else constructive is planned.

I’ve been saving all the stuff from folks asking for donations (at least those I might be interested in donating to) and have about 22 candidates. Thinking about putting it on the Polls Only thread and let the SDMB folks help me decide who I contribute to.

22 Messages to get through…I’d roll up my sleeves but I’m not wearing a shirt at the moment so I’ll just mosey on over to the scroll button…

Nut, are there enough caffeine addicts to take up a collection to buy a new machine?

Cookie, at least you can still get newspaper delivery. The local paper went all digital a couple years ago and I get the NY TImes a couple times a week at Kroger just to have a actual paper paper to read. And sounds like the grandkids got talent.

52, glad the damage wasn’t any greater with the credit card, and yeah, changing the number for set billings will be a pain.

Oopsie, sounds like the moving plan is coming together. Happy (and safe) Lego Moving!

shoe, hope the Long Night isn’t another No Good Day…one in a row is enough.

lily, oh dear, hope the cleaning is successful.

And that’s all I got. Go watch some basketball in a bit (they are at halftime now) and probably turn in early, between gym and mowage I put in a pretty good day. Take care all.

Mia Moglie didn’t comment on dinner, but I could tell she liked it. Lots of leftovers. She’s finishing her tiramisu now.

Got a short-sleeve, khaki shirt (one pocket) today. When I told The Spousal Unit I I’d ordered it, she said ‘short sleeve shirts are Not Done.’ But she said it looked good when I put it on. I’ve been compromising. I’ve been wearing undershirts.

My lovely wife made char siu pork (very light on the spices) with sticky rice and salad. Delush, as I have learned to say here. Now she’s eating strawberries, but wouldn’t let me clean the kitchen, so I changed our bedding before she could catch me. I’m having a low energy day, but not so low that I can’t make the bed.

Now I’m going to put the latest Murderbot on my airpods and drift off. Good night, all.

It sounds like your grandkids have inherited your love of music, cookie.

I’m at Sis’ for the duration. She and BIL will head out in the morning with Frankie, Nelson’s father. All of the peppers have had baths and most are settled on my lap and chair.

Home right at 2 a.m., which isn’t too bad. I put on Monkey’s jacket so he could go run around, but the sweetie is more interested in my lap. :black_heart:

Out of idle curiosity, I asked how the tills worked out tonight, once she was finally done. She’s very meticulous, we don’t leave until things are straight.

S.M. “We were fifteen cents short.”

I nearly fell over laughing, and told her I’d go get my coin purse and make it up myself.

“NO! I’m not redoing the paperwork!! Let’s go home.”

(For a while, we were “ten bucks short” while she swore and re-calculated, until an extra roll of quarters was discovered to exist. So she already had to redo some stuff once.)

Just as I was leaving, I saw S.M. circle the building, going opposite from her usual route home.

Me: “Where T F is she going?”

… then I saw the collection of flashy-lights at the intersection.

Someone done really messed up, from the looks of it. And is having a bad night.

Gorgeous moon tonight - I enjoyed watching it rise through the branches of some nearby maples.

Hope the insomniacs here get to see it!

We had a birthday celebration today, but the lady of honor wasn’t scheduled to come in until 10 p.m. Meanwhile, there were cupcakes AND donuts!

We gettin’ the diabeetus tonight!

By breaktime (around 6-8) the break table looked like it had been mobbed by preschoolers. We were careful to leave her at least some of everything, but I joked, “Congratulations! Also, we ate your snacks.”

Late at night, I heard S.M. go, “Oh, SHIT!” This is an alarming thing to hear, so all heads swiveled.

With her mouth totally full, she got out, “That’s a REALLY good cupcake!”

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 83 with rain this afternoon and evenin’. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization. I shall serve both services even though I am not Verger today. Other Verger has her granddaughter this week, so I agreed to do the nine a.m. so that sweet child wouldn’t have to sit through two services. That is way more than an eight year old should be called upon to endure. I will serve Chalice at the second service. Afterwards OYKW will go to Jack’s to get us burgers and fries. I will get out of my get up and head to da cave where we shall eat lunch and then be RDOS sloths the rest of the day. Hopefully both of us will be here before the rain sets in.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. The purtification for deheathenization shall commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

I have been made aware of the following…

< AHEM > CLEARIN’ THROAT < AHEM >

HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!
HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!

HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall, clean and launder in the morning, and sloth in the afternoon. Spot has his shows back, so he is happy.

:bottle_with_popping_cork: :birthday_cake: :partying_face:HAPPY BIRTHDAY WETONE!!! :birthday_cake: :bottle_with_popping_cork:

Yeah, save that for Lent.

:birthday_cake: :bouquet: Happy birthday, Wetone! :bouquet: :birthday_cake:

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 19c/66f with a predicted high of 20c/68f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Just fucking balls. I’ve fucking got nothing.”

My cold water is tepid rather than scalding, but temperatures have dropped a few degrees since yesterday and it’s relatively cool today. You’re right about our houses, they were built to insulate rather than to cool, and most people have carpets instead of wood, laminate or tile floors for the same reason. The cats have been sleeping in the hall, kitchen and bathroom because those floors are cooler. I almost joined them!

Yay for finding a new outfit, but boo to the rest. I have a similar problem, after much working out at the gym, I struggle to find things that comfortable and fit everywhere they’re supposed to. Eventually, I booked a bra fitting and found out that my cup size had changed dramatically! I came home with two new everyday bras and a couple of sports bras, so I’m good for a while which is a relief because the store in my town closed down a couple of months ago. Now I’d have to go to the Big City or Merry Hell (shopping centre) to find the same store. Yes, Nut, it’s M&S!

52 sorry to hear about the credit card but I’m glad your provider was quick off the mark with picking up the fraudulent charges.

We have a similar one that we use in the bedroom, which vents out of the window. It’s got a kind of mesh envelope that secures to the window frame with something velcro-ish, and you can zip it up so that it seals around the vent hose. We also have a tube into a bucket overnight to collect the water.

That does sound stressful with so much going on, but the moving truck blocking the street is an occupational hazard and would happen anyway. Might as well shove that bit of stress in with everything else and get it over with!

I had a busy afternoon doing errands, cat litter has been acquired along with some birthday cards and wrapping paper (one of my pub friends has a birthday this week so we’re out to celebrate) and I picked up a sweet treat from the Rustic Bakery on my way back to the car. I had a quiet evening on the sofa which was very pleasant.

I have no big plans for today, I’m up and the needs of cats have been tended to, I’ve had toasted rye bread with chilli Marmite for breakfast and I’ve had a bath. I decided to wash my hair but leave it to dry naturally, I’m not going out anywhere so nobody’s going to see it

I must, however, tackle the heap of t-shirts that need ironing because it’s getting out of hand now!

Happy birthday Wetone!

I’m definitely not sorry I’ve been living up in the frozen North for the last few weeks- here it’s been pleasantly warm. I may reconsider in January, when there’s 6 hours of daylight.
BooFae I am actually not a frequenter of M&S for bras, they don’t have much of a range in my size. I mostly just shop there for fancy cheese. I normally have to go to a specialist shop for bras, which is a pain.

Metalmouse, we’re waiting on a diagnosis on if the current machine could be fixed. It’s a very good one, but has been in operation for years, and hasn’t been serviced since we moved buildings a year back and the use rate went way up as it was moved to a bigger office. I’m only supposed to be there another few months, so long term ain’t really my issue, but I’m sure options will be discussed. I’ve thought for a while they should up the cost to 30p so there’s a fund for repairs and replacement.

Today’s forecast was for solid rain all day, so I was planning on getting on with some work in the house,- it’s currently sunny and now magically forecast to remain so most of the day. I still haven’t done the pressure washing of the back patio, maybe that should feature on the plan instead, but I would also like to go and get some more of the good strawberries.

Happy Birthday Wet One!

:birthday_cake: :bouquet: Happy birthday, Wetone! :bouquet: :birthday_cake:
(stolen because lazy)

Today started with 48 Ferrets. We’re heading out for breakfast and a trek to the Eastern Shore. I may or may not post along the way.

Happy Last Day of May!!!

Up to 60 degrees Ferret Height(15.556 Centipedes).

Weather App has already hit Smonday.

If you have to go to a specialist shop for French breads, that would also be a pain.

Happy birthday, Wetone.

We’re up and moving slowly. It felt nice outside, so we opened the front and back doors until just now when the A/C kicked in.

I’m feeling The Weight again this morning. Presenting isn’t really on the table. I’ll need to figure something out.

I have massive piles of clean and folded laundry that I need to put away, but just cannot seem to be arsed to do so.

Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning.

It’s 43F and sunny outside. We’ll hit 70F by late afternoon, and the forecast calls for plentiful sunshine.

Happy Birthday, Wetone!

52, I’m glad the bank caught the fraud very quickly. I have my accounts set to text me the minute a transaction occurs. Almost two years back, I got pinged about a charge while at home. I called the bank immediately, and the card was shut down, my funds were returned, and a new card was issued.

I have decided to go to a custom/specialty shop for the bras. Unfortunately, the only one in my county is clear over in Gig Harbor, so that’s a trek. There’s another in King County that is actually closer than the one in Gig Harbor. So, I’ll have to decide which one to go. I went to Kohl’s yesterday and had much the same luck as I did the previous day. I came home with two as a temporary measure, but they just don’t fit correctly. I usually wear Wacoal, but it seems no one but Macy’s carries it in-store, and the Macy’s aren’t nearby either. It’s all very annoying.

Anyway, I went to Costco to purchase salad ingredients, desserts and picked up a couple of items for home. After Costco, I went to Dollar Tree to get bowls for the salads, but their supply had been mostly wiped out. I picked up two there, but decided to go to Michael’s to see if there was anything better. Most everything was wiped out there, too. There must have been a lot of graduation parties! We used to have Party City and Party Universe stores, but they shut down, so my choices were pretty limited. Anyway, I have some bowls, salad tong/spoon thingies, cake cutters, and fruit knives. Plus, cake boards to put the long cakes on.

After dropping that stuff off at home, I made the aforementioned trip to Kohl’s.

Upon my return home, I did laundry, steamed my outfit for today, and watered my plants.

I’ll be hopping in the shower in about an hour, and I’ll be out of the house by around 9:00 a.m. I’ll head down south and help set up for the memorial service and prep my salads (there’s a kitchen there). The service runs from noon to three, and I’ll have to help clean up, too. It’s going to be a long day, and after all the running around last week and this weekend, I don’t want to go anywhere tomorrow.

You all take care of yourselves.

I’ve just seen an email from Squeaky’s teacher reassuring us that the group was safely tucked away in their hotel in Tours when the celebrations began in France last night.

Morning all. Bladder was kind and let me sleep through to 6:30am, have done the Sunday paper run and also picked up my usual Moanday shopping so I could get enough Kroger points to save another .10/gallon (which is small potatoes, but saving a couple bucks these days with gas is worth it). Had a couple Thomas’s Cinnamon and Raisin Muffins and a banana to break my fast and will head over to Logan’s for some of their meatloaf later on. There is still a 60% chance of rain today but it’s bright and dry right now and about 77F. Got three new T-shirts yesterday, so will thrill the gym crowd with my new apparel (I never wear plain T-shirts, they always have something to say on them).

Wet One, a most happy celebration of the completion of another orbit of the sun.

I presume you meant ‘puppers’, or you have an odd way of relaxing, red

Shoe, that is one thing I never had to do during my short-order cook days was count the register. Didn’t see the moon, but appreciate that you did. And so nice fo you folks to leave the birthday girl some of the stuff…

Swampy, happy Vergering. And now you have me thinking Jack’s is a good idea for Moanday’s eat-out burger.

doggio, Spot looks rather transfixed in that picture.

boo fae, hope the heat heads downward. And the gym has reduced my waist size from 44" to 38" in the past 3 years so it seemed like buying new pants/jeans was a yearly requirement, but seems like it has steadied down now. Hope the new fits work well for you.

Nut, thanks for the info on the caffeine fix provider. Stay dry, those rain showers can be really tricky…

FCM, Happy Treking and watch out for the Klingons…

Well, just take the load off…(sorry, I do so love that song).

Taters, best luck on the bra-shopping. I have a couple sets of salad bowls acquired who knows when, but I hardly use them anymore since I only eat salad once a week and that’s in a very large bowl. And no reason Moanday can’t be your day of rest…sounds like you need one.

Mollie, glad Squeaky is settled in, Tours looks (from a quick Wiki look) to be an interesting place, hope he has fun.

And that’s got me caught up for the moment, so take care all and have a good Sunday.

I have slider windows AND a sit in the room a/c unit. They come with adapter pieces for slider windows.

Going to high tea this aft to celebrate being 27 for the umpteenth time. I get to gussy up in a skirt!
