(Old) Canada's Thanksgiving begins the holiday season in the MMP!

Great news!

Just a quick note, survived soccer, the U8’s won for the second week in a row, 7-4 and the U12 came back from 0-2 down to win 4-2. Had to referee my U12’s and another game so got some steps (about 15,000 according to the fitness watch) in. Have hydrated and am catching my breath now, will watch some tackleball and decide on dinner (I usually have Fettuchini Alfredo, but the Sunday restaurant menu is for Olive Garden so I’ll try something else). About 82F but cloudy and breezy so not to bad.

My best wishes to all of you that are out there exercising your freedom of speech.

Well, don’t pick it up until Monday and I’ll be holding onto my old car until I can get the replacement title and sell it to the Carmax dealer, so that may be up in the air.

FCM, hope the training went well for both Otis and FCD (you, I am not worried about-and I see your later message that it did go well).

Pavo, enjoy the evening.

Cookie, hope the new card gets there and you can rub the rude agent’s nose in it…

Pilot, I can see why you miss late wife so much…a clever pair you were.

Knots, now you have me hankering for some Cold Stone, but the nearest one is 20+ miles away…still…

And time to continue re-hydration and see what the college tackleball folks are doing.

The radio’s playing Blues Review, and they played a song by Mud Morganfield. That’s Muddy Waters’s son, and he sounds really good.

It’s 4:00 pm, and I just realized I forgot to eat lunch. I’ll grab a slice of bread or something before supper.

Mrs. Nott is leery of Facebook and such, so she just “doesn’t do Meta.” One of her fellow Purse Mamas wanted to converse privately, so we got her connected on my FB account. I don’t know how that’s gonna work out.

I’m sore. A couple of days moving rocks, then a day of building a set have kicked my butt. I fear I have cracked a rib. One feels out of place. And it really hurts.

We did manage to dog park today, very few other dogs there at 2-ish. I expect most of the usual folks were at the protest. I am in a deeply blue town, tucked into a red area around us.

Michaels is pushing Halloween aside and Christmas/winter is coming in. There is a bit of a cross over…Michaels is having a line of goth Christmas items. I got this guy https://www.michaels.com/product/1775-black-deer-butler-tabletop-decor-by-ashland-10791327?michaelsStore=1081&inv=1 . I liked his attitude.

If I ever find the person who thought it would be a good idea to put a plastic suit on and dance around in 80 degree heat for a few hours, they will get a couple of good whacks.

The fan I bragged about? All it did was blow hot, humid air at me. I admire the Frog even more now, he’s out there every day and I’m going back to my Handmaid uniform tomorrow. I’ll keep some of the glitter, just in case.

So, nobody got arrested or roughed up. Many people waved, some flipped us off.

Aldi’s is advertising Thanksgiving dinners for 8 for 40 bucks, including a turkey. Since food stamps will be cut off at the end of this month, we are going to take the shopping list and buy 5 dinners. The mailman has already agreed that he will take them to needy families on his route for us. He’s pretty sure we will be getting another pre-cooked turkey dinner this year but he can’t give that one to anyone but us because of rules.

In other news, our housekeeper has ghosted us. She was living with her mom and used her mother’s phone in emergencies. She was supposed to clean last Wednesday and didn’t show up or return my call. This is really concerning, not only is it not like her, I have her weed. Well, I have a container of weed with her name on it. We have agreed that I should keep most of it for her because if she has it, her boyfriend will take it all.

So…she doesn’t have money or weed now and I haven’t seen her walking either. I do hope she didn’t get run over, she walks on the highway and some people drive like idiots.

In better news, I talked to a nice phone using young person who was happy to help with Mom’s phone. He knew what to do as soon as I told him the problem. Then he flirted with Mom while he did it

Every single time MIL went to Olive Garden, she got lasagna. Never had any desire to try anything else. I don’t know if she just loved their lasagna that much or she was afraid to try other dishes. No skin off my nose, so whatevs…

Granted, when I go to Salsa’s. I generally pick one of 2 entrees, but I have tried several other items offered. I don’t like them as much as my top 2, and sometimes I just get a hankerin’ for shrimp and rice or pollo fiesta. And I know both of them have enough for 2 meals. Pay me no mind.

Kids these days with their gadgets - thank goodness for them!!! I can usually figure stuff out, but I’ve gotten to the point where I’m happy to let Daughter or SIL do it for me - like when they set up a family calendar on Google and I was having issues connecting with it. SIL got me hooked up when I threw in the towel. Heck, when I’m babysitting at their house, I have to turn to Roxy!! She’s 7 and very savvy!!!

We’re trying to do what the trainer suggested, but turning your back on Otis means he’ll jump on your back. Not a good alternative. We’ll talk to her again next week.

FCD made me an omelette - for the life of me, I can’t make one - they always fall apart in the pan, so I end up with scrambled eggs full of stuff. He’s not much of a cook, but he does make a good omelette! He got the last of the chili that I nuked to temperature. I got the easier meal prep.

Time for some chillage.

Well, my diet is off to a poor start. After participating in the No Kings rally in Everson (decidedly Trump country), we went for Mexican food in Blaine. I had a shredded beef taco salad with three fried jalapeños (which I sliced up and put into the salad) and almost two margaritas.

That’s pretty much what happened with me and the Roku.

Have fun with the new wheels metal mouse!

Stuff like that that’s heavily dyed is just nasty (I’m looking at you, red velvet cake). I can taste the food coloring and it overpowers any other flavors that may / may not be yummy.

I can train Nelson for most things with regular treats, but if he’s not seeming to pick up, I pick up some Blue Bits. He’ll do some pretty difficult things for those.

Sis and I drove to one of the suburbs on her side of town for the protest and found that it didn’t exist. So we drove to the next suburb out with the same results. We did this because we figured it would be easier getting in and out. We did get back to town in time to hit the last half hour at City Hall. I got tickled when a car two lanes over on the freeway saw our signs in the car window and honked, waved and gave us the thumbs up. We’re thinking that the protests listed in those two suburbs were decoys, since they weren’t listed on the official site, just the local one.

Once home, I harnessed Nelson up, took him out to do his business, then went to Hartz Chicken to pick up a two piece with okra. Their okra is righteous! The guy at the drive thru even offered a chicken bite to Nelson, which I OK’d.

Now for chillage.

I actually prefer scrambled with stuff to omelettes. My usual breakfast on the boat was “scrambled with everything”, which normally was tomatoes, ham, peppers, cheese and mushrooms. The main exception was when they had French toast, in which case I’d get an omelette with everything and make a sandwich with the toast.

Go, Dawgs! Thats how it’s done!

I’ve made omelettes as demonstrated by Julia Child. No fillings, just basically scrambled eggs as a unit. So yes, I can make a proper omelette. But this is my method, which results in a thicker omelette than desired, but it doesn’t fall apart. Scramble two eggs per person with heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Note that the more eggs, the larger the pan you will need. While I use butter for the Julia Child method, just for me (or for the two of us) I use PAM cooking spray. In any case, lubricate the pan. Pour in the scrambled eggs. Cover, and cook over low heat until the eggs are cooked. Put your fillings on one half of the cooked eggs. For one person, fold the other half over the filled half. For two people, cut in half with a spatula and fold over half at a time. Cover, and let the cheese melt while you warm the plates in the microwave oven.

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Y’all! My DAWGS got it together in the second half and beat the Sippimissi Rabble! It was a great game and a great win. OYKW even said I was relatively behaved again. Even though I watch in a different room (he’s not a tackleball fan) he still hears my umm… commentary. BBBoo thanks for the shout out. Sorry about your Huskers loss Friday night. I got productive and made some N.O.T. sallit and cooked some flat green beans. We’ll have that along with some chikin wings from the Pubic sto’ for lunch tomorrow.

Sensei hooray for Senboy! Also good for Sengirl and her culinary skillz!

MOOOOOOM start searchin’ for tp. Maybe you’ll get ads that tell you how many poops you should get per roll. Report back with your findin’s. Glad Otis’s first trainin’ session went well.

BooFae oh my! That is some BAFTA/Oscar award winnin’ drama queenin’ from your minion! I could deal with mid-November decorations especially for the reasons you posted. Glad you got the tyre problem fixed.

MetalMouse forgot to mention earlier, yay for the impendin’ new wheels! (N.O.W.)

red glad you got the Roku figured out. I can do such things but it involves the use of language that would have made my mother shove a bar of soap in my mouth.

Nellie allow me to chime in and say also a word to management about the dog would be wise.

Pilot enjoy the time with gf.:smiling_face_with_horns::rabbit_face:

Nuts glad you had a nice time and got the good bread. Gettin’ to see the bigots slink off from their protest bust was some good gravy on top of a nice day.

Notty yeah, black ice cream with orange sprinkles would turn me off as well. Credit to Coldstone for tryin’ though.

Pavo glad the missus and you get an evenin’ together. Enjoy!

VanGo take it easy. Hopefully it’s just a sore rib, but if pain and soreness persist please get yourself checked out.

Rocker if I were inclined to buy holiday decor, I would get that one.

JtC glad the protest went well even though the costume turned out to be a PITA. Also, what a great and generous thing y’all are doin’! My church does Thanksgiving baskets every year. There are always a couple of requests for pre-made meals. OYKW and I like to help with those in particular. Think I’ll look into Aldi’s deal this year for that. Hope your housekeeper is OK. Glad you found phone help for your mom. I am sure she was happy with the phone and the flirt.

If I make a request to St Patrick’s for a pre-made turkey day meal can I get your home-cooking? I’m only 7 miles off of I 80.

What very kind word coming from a Bear who does kind and generous things on the regular! Thank you.

Here’s the shopping list: Feast for 10 | ALDI US

I know that a few of the local churches are asking for donations, but a whole lot of folks on the other side of the tracks do not have cars and just cannot get to there when the handouts are scheduled. Our mailguy isn’t a USPS postal employee, he’s a contract worker. That means he is allowed to use his personal vehicle to deliver food boxes to needy families while he is delivering the mail.

It’s really nice of him to be willing to do this for us, his truck is always overloaded when he gets here so that means he will have to come back when he’s got room in his truck.

Waves hand in the air. If that is a choice, we can cook our turkey another time. I know his cornbread dressing is so much better than mine.

There is a deer in our back yard. It is looking in the bedroom open bedroom window. The chirps and let’s play noises coming out of the fuzzbutts are super fun.

I’m keeping a close eye on him because he’s nosing around at the straw around my shrubs. I’m going to make many loud sounds if he starts chewing on the actual bushes, but its ok that hes eating the straw.

I get that free at the feed store, they like it when people sweep the hay/straw off their loading area and even have brooms handy.

Let’s just say that, most of the time, when I do something like setting the Roku up, I use language that would have gotten me a lot of hail Marys and our Fathers as a kid. Glad your Dawgs won.

Another bouncing around Saturday. It ended earlier than usual. I heard management talking about something going FUBAR somewhere in the system, so maybe that’s why. I got laundry in the dryer, bacon, eggs, and a gin&toniv(I had a scurvy flairup), so it’s naptime.

sticky, hope mom feels better soonest.

Go SenBoy!
< post does not send >

Up from naptime. Asian BBQ stifry and a Sazarac for dinner. Watching hockey and the F1 Sprint.

I’ve gotten ads based on what is said in the MMP. So if y’all could mention “Hot singles ISO balding amateur cartoonists”, that would be great.

Gin is made from juniper berries, and berries are a breakfast food.

So it could have been ROMANES EUNT DOMUS for all you know?

That’s why GF is coming over, obviously.

Eating a 64ct Crayola box will make the dog poop fabulous.

I :black_heart: this.

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!

:slightly_smiling_face:
Spot is silent when he watches the vermin play.

And a way too late night final. Did maake it to the gym for an hour so I didn’t feel too guilty eating those (redacted) pieces of cheese bread for dinner, and have spent the rest of the night browsing on-line and watching You Tubes. Off to bed as soon as I finish this, 17+ hours up and no nappage should hopefully mean a good night’s sleep.

VanGo, hope the rib is OK, are you going to get it checked out?

JtC, that is a good thing you are doing for Thape nksgiving, might have to see if our local Aldi’s are doing anything like that. And hope housekeeper is OK. And cats and deer are a fascinating combination.

FCM, I normally don’t eat Italian, but I do like Fettuccine Alfredo so that is what I get when I go there. With Breadsticks and Salad Bowl it is pretty filling.

flyboy, diets are meant to be..well, flexible.

And that’s has depleted what energy I have left. Good night and see you Sunday.

Sounds like the place to go to christen your new car.

Sorry, I just get “Access Denied”, but I found a preview. Cute deer. We have Christmas moose and one of them is black with gold anters.

In Canada they serve orange ice cream (or sherbet) with licorice pieces. Year-round. Works better for Halloween, IMHO.

Which explains the explosion of ads for Legos, with a few Halloween costumes mixed in for variety. And after today, decorative deer items.

Looks like we’re buying a bed frame and mattress - the frame we have is creaky and makes noise during certain activities. After going from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with a short stop back home for Aldi tortellini and sauce, plus home-made lattes, I was DONE for the day. My stamina is not quite there.

Today is chore day. The to-do list includes vacuuming, mopping, laundry, baking, cooking, switching to winter clothes (which won’t be completely done because it’s going to get to 18°C/64°F after highs of 12°C/53°F) and paperwork. And recover from yesterday.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Morning cleaning and afternoon handegg and general sloth are on the agenda. It’s currently 56 degrees Ferret Height(13.3 Centipedes). It’s supposed to be 79 with a shower this afternoon.

the last upstairs neighbor had that problem: Ecky thump ecky thump ecky thump
