I’m not sure if this is a safe subject for the MMP, but I’m going to bring it up anyway. Evolution happened, humans evolved to become what we are today. Proto-humans ate stuff and taught their offspring to eat it. If your mom taught you how to get honey before language was evolved, that is usually a racial memory that sticks.
Humans evolved eating mushrooms and eggs and scavenged meat complete with maggots. Proto-humans also used fire and cooked meat.
There wasn’t any lightbulb moment involved, its more of a “we’ve always done it this way” thing.
Most modern food-plants have been highly bred for their specific characteristics, artichokes are highly bred flower buds that we’ve always eaten.
So anyways, after thinking about the I17 on holiday weekends, I opened the traffic cameras and looked at lines of stopped cars in hundred degree temps and thought about how much we didn’t miss it.
Then I opened Nextdoor and spent half an hour laughing at all the comments about the idiots. Lest you think we are being unfair, there are signs warning people to not go there. There is a flashing sign saying the same thing at the summit. I’ve walked along the line of vehicles trying to go down that way and warned them that they would get stuck, very few people actually listened to me.
George is the same, all I have to do is move a table for him to think that maybe that room is best avoided for a few days. Jolene, aka Lil Miss Confident just checks it out and goes on with her day.
Do you know that you good influenced one of my budistas to make and donate lapghans to the local nursing home. Go you!
I always seriously tighten my filters before searching anything even slightly woo connected. It doesn’t stop all of the slop (AI just loves woo) but helps to keep it down.
Tis an enjoyable story ![]()
Oh, that seriously sucks. Will you be able to replant next year or do the spores get in the soil as well?
Welp, time to head off to the capital. The temp has dropped to 80 but the humidity is up. I’m so glad I had the good sense to have my uniform made out of cotton and linen this time. My last one was poly and I lost ten lbs of water weight every Sunday.
