(Old) Gunpowder, Treason and Plot in the MMP

I think of The Hokey Pokey from time to time when I step over the tub when I get out of the shower. (We really need a walk-in shower, but I’m afraid to ask the price lest we start getting 23 spam calls per day.) It occurs to me that I was not exposed to The Hokey Pokey until my late-20s at the earliest.

I still have not seen The Chicken Dance.

What rock have you been hiding under? I’ve not only seen it many times, I’ve done it many times!

Time out from teak sawing. The boards are 10’ long so I start out helping to feed, then I run around to the other end of the table to catch. There’s a workbench adjacent to the table saw and it can accommodate about 6 or 7 feet of feed, so I have plenty of time to get around and help finish the cut. FCD needed a lunch break, and when we go back, it’ll be biscuit cutting, glue and clamp time.

It seems to be a wedding thing. I haven’t been to many weddings, and the ones I’ve been at didn’t have that sort of thing.

They lied.
The load sheets said 116 or so pieces for each package car. It was a bit more than double that. Plus the one bulk load that said 23 pieces was more like 70, and took up half that package car. I still manged to get it figured out. Then I had to help pull for all the Blueberry loaders on the 100 North. In with the damages was a Target order, with 3 broken Ramen Noodle ornaments. I would have cost less to just slap some Dolla Sto glitter on actual packs of Beef Ramen. Xmas glitter being one the things I’m most glad I don’t have to deal with any more. I always used to come home from work looking like Tinkerbell hornked on me. When I was showering, I had to yell at the Eternal Fly so it wouldn’t get hosed down the drain. But I’m clean, dry, and oatmealed. So naptime.

I don’t get that. Just the usual fireworks for the November Teacher’s Work Day, and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and such.

I assume it would be a cross between RuPaul’s Drag Race, and The Weakest Link.

Yes.

Make copies.

Ike didn’t have that many moving pieces for D-Day. Break a leg!

:frowning_face_with_open_mouth:

Sunday is the day I tote the half sack o’ rubish to the compacting bin.

Cool.

Nor watched Lawrence Welk as a lad.

Always.

Got some shopping in today, which didn’t veer away from the list, surprisingly.

We’ll be making sandwiches for kids this afternoon, unless it’s too crowded in the room.

The first 2 teak boards have been biscuited and glued together. In a couple of hours, we can do the same with the 3rd board. So, chill time.

I need to do something with chickie tit for supper - maybe I’ll just do baked strips covered in Italian breadcrumbs. Spud chunks with onions, and maybe peas? Or green beans? Decisions decisions…

Not exactly something to celebrate, but the car now has the winter tires mounted. And tomorrow morning it will be just above freezing, so we scheduled the tire change exactly at the right time.

Hubby took out the trash and did laundry. Forgot to put out the cardboard this morning. Oops.

But I don’t want to break my leg.

(Once, in the misty past, when years started with 1, I sprained my ankle (badly) while on break during a dress rehearsal for a musical. Since then I’ve found “break a leg” darkly foreboding.)

So break someone else’s leg. A leg is a leg.

Now off to brave the DMV. But first I need to get the form notarized. Which seems particularly perverse since I’m bringing it to a place that has confirming identity as one of its primary purposes, but I guess pointless bureaucracy is one of the perks of a civilized society.

Edit: or not. No notary appointments today. Fortunately St. Louis is notorious for not caring about tags.

Evening all.

Things are going boom. I had an imprompu last minute trip to the next city over, to see their display with a few other from irk, as there is no official show in town- and it’s only the people in the outskirts, like my area, who are making things go boom. When I say last minute, I think we made it to a spot over the river with a view of the site with 3 minutes to spare before the fireworks started. We were a bit further away than I thought, but hey, we could see them!

Luckily the ratties seem utterly unconcerned about the noise. They’re weird little things- sometimes they’re completely fine with crazy loud noises, the vacuum, the radio, and sometimes they freak out because I do something like move a plant pot and it makes a slight scraping noise.

All 3 boards are glued together and they’ll stay clamped overnight. Dunno what the next step will be - we shall see…

Supper was good and quickly ingested. Ice maker is making ice. I emptied the dishwasher earlier, so it’s time to refill it… eventually.

Meanwhile, the night was made for chillage!

I hope you’re not using standard fiber biscuits, I don’t think they do well with water. But I don’t know from boats, y’all are waaay more experienced there. Or are the biscuits just for alignment?

My boss took the whole exhibits team out for lunch today as celebration of me getting permanent status. I thought that was very sweet of her.

I didn’t actually get anything done at work, too many meetings and planning.

Still having digestive issues, so’s it was toast and tea again for supper. I’ll be so glad when these freakin’ antibiotics are finished.

I don’t know what kind of biscuits they are, but they were just for alignment. Everything will be held together with glue and screws.

Tomorrow will be trash/recycle day. The convenience center doesn’t open till 9:30, so I’ll have plenty of time to gather everything and load the truck. Beyond that, we’ll see what will. Happen.

This broke my heart. I loved watching him dive into boxes (and the super clean background! My momma would’ve been proud.)

Sadly, true.

I kinda hate you.

I shouldn’t have laughed as hard as I did at this one.

Trying to decide between Culver’s (I can get a choc’lit frozen treat, MALT!!) or Red Robin (“YUMMMM”)

Howdy Y’all! We procured and stowed provisions. We also purchased stuff to take to the church house for Turkey Day baskets, includin’ two turkeys. Wednesday night doin’s was good as usual. We feasted upon fried chikin strips, green beans, Mac & cheese, rolls and brownies. YUM! I also staged stuff for the big trip. BBBOO I will take an extra pair of grown up pants and an extra shirt. OYKW reminded me of the fact that I am prone to bein’ a klutz and have the social graces of a toddler.

MOOOOOOM and VanGo before I perfected the art of bizkit makin’ I made a bunch that would’ve made great construction material.

{{{red}}} feet better soonest!

Up from naptime, having a martini. I dreamed I started Sunday dinner too late, and spilled things on mom’s white tablecloth because I was distracted by aliens assimilating my spaceship’s crew.

I’m doing chicken tits with peas, mushrooms, egg noodles and cheese(Swiss/Gruyere blend) sauce.

Was it a musical version of The Scottish Play?

“Back in my day, when athletes took a knee, they took a knee” - Tonya Harding

Are you sure you don’t have smol long nosed cats?

Last time I was this sad about someone else’s pet it was when the “Thoughts of Dog” dog died.

Evening all. Mowage was mowed, candy donated, gym sweat sweated, cheeseburger assimilated and garbage taken to the curb, so all missions are complete for the day. Add to that I’m caught up on my You Tube viewing and it got above 70F and is due to be the same tomorrow, and I’ll give this Hump Day a passing grade.

And now to pay the penance of not posting in the afternoon, there are 30 messages to scroll through, so best be about it…

rocky, been there, put stuff not where I planned to that. And that’s way to many bins for me to remember.

FCM, red, I’ve noticed that bruises on my had take quite awhile to disappear, they are pretty clear now. Hope your Intestinal tract is behaving better, red.

FCM, good on ya for the donation. And thanks for the big grin your conversation with BBBoo brought to my face. And that’s a lot of teak to be sawing/gluing.

Dicey, one good thing about living in N. Ali-bama is that snow tires are unheard of down here. Of course, on the 1-2 days a year it does snow, nobody goes anywhere…

Hope you didn’t Murphy yourself.

Nut, you probably told us, but why fireworks on 5 November?

VanGo, I concur, that boss is a good one. And some folks (managers and supervisors mostly) consider meetings and planning work…odd.

shoe, I find Red Robin very good but a bit over-priced, Culver’s is nearly as good and much cheaper. IMHO of course.

doggio, wait, “Thoughts of Dog” has passed? Haven’t been over to that part of Facebook for awhile but I will miss him.

And’s 9:30pm so will internet a little more then off to bed and slumberland. Catch y’all on Thorsday.

Which one did it first? Do I get partial credit?
