We were talking about Tim Walz’s abnormally wide mouth (vote blue!) and this half-hidden memory came to the fore: A probably '80s most likely vampire movie where a girl smiles, and smiles, and smiles and. . . opens her mouth impossibly wide from ear to ear and inside are a lot of sharp, pointy teeth.
I do not think it was The Lost Boys because I remember most of that movie. I do believe it was set in contemporary times but I cannot rule out a Christopher Lee Hammer movie. That’s it. That’s all I got. That mouth, though. It’s burned into my brain!
Oh no, I remember THAT movie very well. From what I remember the doll had the teeth. Karen scared me sitting by the front door, banging the knife against the floor.
Of course, I haven’t seen it in many decades so my memory can be a bit off. I do believe the girl with the teeth was a teenager or young adult. Which is why it could be a Hammer movie. Lee needed a whole lot of nubile young ladies to sink his teeth into.
Yes, the doll had the teeth at first. KB smiles a big old grin at the very end, while she’s stabbing the floor waiting for her mother to arrive, and has the most lovely bridgework.
Fright Night was a pretty decent film in its day. Roddy McDowell was a hoot, Chris Sarandon was suave as the main vampire and they saved the budget for the big SFX sequence at the end. Definitely worth a look.
