As I’ve slowly gotten older & raggedier I’ve tried to keep a running awareness of e.g. “I’m now 55; how were Mom & Dad & the grands doing when they were 55?”. Overall my machinery has been, and still is, running better than most of them at the same age. But I’m sure aware that can turn on a dime.
