(Old) How would you start the MMP...?

And good evening all. Have conspicuously consumed multiple calories and will shortly head off to bed. Temperature is down to 64F so should be comfortable sleepage. But more rain is predicted for tomorrow…

flyboy, your wife is a most interesting person (not that you aren’t, but interesting to hear of her adventures).

JtC,

Well of course, you smell of foreign creatures!

And heading close to 10pm, so off to do some reading and then retire for the night. Cach y’all on Sattiday.

The pollen is what almost killed one of ours. No chewing and no climbing on the table and looking at it, just smelling it from a different room.

You consumed mass quantities?

I had a great supper from Olive Garden. A while back I found a OG gift card in the laundry room of my building. It had gone fthough somebody’s wash I guess. So I posted on our building bulletin boards but nobody ever claimed it. So I went to OG for takeout. I had salad, Chicken Alredo and breadsticks, sitting back in my chair at home. And it was free. While I was waiting at the restaurant they even gave me and iced tea for no chargel.. I was impressed. At home my dog BEGGED me so he got two or three bites of chicken.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s my Friday, and a regulation length weekend!

Of course, he comes from France!

Gordie would have appreciated this.

Oh, I have them in every room. This bottle fell where I had to clear stuff out just to see where it was and then use the grabber. And two of my grabbers have magnets built in.

In the winter I could, but it would take forever to dry in summer.

Yay! :tada
eta: Hope the union stuff works out.

Good luck with the move, especially with the paperwork.

Good save there. I also vote for fewer tornadoes near mumpers.

Oof. After many years with a bad dentist (I wasn’t the only one who got caught out), I had dozens of cavities to be filled. It took two appointments to do all the fillings. Hope you don’t need a root canal (or have to have it pulled). Does the dentist have any suggestions of something you can do to help your teeth?

My parents have this set up with the cemetary. If my dad goes first, he’ll be cremated and the urn will be buried with my mom’s coffin. If she goes first, his urn will be buried on top / next to my mom’s coffin. I don’t know all the details, but I have the (digital) paperwork where it’s written, and I know that the cemetary’s already been paid. Any reason the funeral mass couldn’t wait until you and your sister are back home?

:joy:

Proabably spending too much time with dogs - they are good for the soul.

How much of a commute? Can you car pool? Hopefully Ariel appreciates your sacrifice.

I like your idea of medicine. Since I just had breakfast, I might have to wait a bit.

Glad nothing’s broken. Did he get something for the pain? I know you wanted him home on weekends, but this was probably not the plan. :frowning:

I’m curious if it’s never chaotic. It sounds like SCDD (same chaos, different day).

Have you seen what other mumpers write? (Not naming names. ) No need to slink away, you’re in good company.

Sounds yummy. For lunch I’m planning to make chicken and pasta awith sun-dried tomatoes and cream. It’s a close cousin to chicken alfredo.

Whew. Caught up.

Already did one load of sheets and hung them in the drying room. The second load is in the washer. After that they’ll be a load of delicates which also need to be hung up. Fortunately it’s supposed to be sunny - so far not a cloud in the sky.

Which means I need to get moving, because I need to clean the windows on the south-facing side before the sun comes around. After the windows are clean, we can put the screens in. It’ll soon be warm enough for mosquitoes - we’ve already seen a few flies.

Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’.YAWN ‘Tis 65 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 93 and N.O.S. A good day for quality cee-mint pond time. JDD and Partner will be here around elevinish. We shall frolic for a while and when enough fun in the sun has been had, we shall snarf foodstuffs. Should be a nice day.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 19c/66f with a predicted high of 20c/68f and cloudy. Weather app says “The clouds won’t fucking leave, just like the fucking weirdos in your family.” I don’t think I have enough family left to have weirdos any more  Also, there is a 14-17% chance of precipitation today.

I am glad to hear that nothing’s broken and he is safely home under your watchful eye.

It’s horrible when you can’t drive yourself anywhere, it’s like losing half your limbs! I feel lost and stranded when my car’s in the garage for a day, even though I know I can get around quite easily on public transport. It’s the bizarre feeling that I can’t just go wherever I want, whenever I want.

I remember your posts about the found gift card and whether you should use it. The universe clearly felt you deserved it, I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Sounds very unpleasant, I hope it did the decent thing and went to bother someone else instead.

Yesterday was a pleasant enough evening, I made tarragon chicken for dinner and we watched a film before I went to bed. 'im indoors stayed up later than me so he got to do the late evening round of litter trays.

I was up reasonably early to do the morning litter trays and get everyone some food. Then I went to the gym and burned lots of calories with dumbbells, plyoblocs, TRX exercises and the half an hour of kettlebells. I’m back home now with a restorative cuppa after a shower, and my next job will be getting my hair dried.

We are out tonight to see a couple of bands at the Giffard, we have friends coming down from Stockport so need to find out if they’re staying over and if they want to meet for food before the gig. I also need to get a birthday card and gift for one of my Wednesday pub friends too.

And I have big news about Muffin! She’s still hissing and growling at me, and today she’s back to hiding in the bookcase, but last night she was out of the spare room and had made it to the windowsill on the landing! She has finally decided to start exploring the house in the safety of quiet and darkness, it’s a big step forward for her. Of course, once she realised she’d been seen, she bolted back to the safety of her corner but I am really happy that she has started adventuring.

My brother agrees with me that the scenario is highly unlikely - Mom is old but in good health, all things considered. I just sent him my itinerary, so he’ll be ready, just in case. I know I’m probably overreacting, but that’s kinda my thing. I’d glad I addressed it, tho - one less thing to fret over.

It was 49° when I dragged my carcass to the kitchen, but by the time I peanut-buttered and jellied my toast, it was up to 50° - outside, not in the kitchen!! Today is clean-the-critter-fountain day. Once it gets in the 60s, I’m taking my nippers and the gorilla cart to where I tossed a pile of branches that were too small for firewood. I’ll nip them into smaller pieces to be dumped in the woods. I’m so glad I don’t have to bag my yard waste - having 3 acres, mostly wooded, is nice.

Since we’ve been watching our food intake, FCD has shed almost 20# and I’m down 12#. We’re both a bit concerned about the cruise - the trick will be avoiding the desserts. Luckily, the fare we booked includes fruit in our cabin every day if we request it. Not the same as the amazing cookies and cakes and other yummies offered at every meal, but we’ll deal. I hope…

Anyway, nothing really exciting on the agenda, but blue skies and sunshine are a nice break from clouds and rain. What more could we ask?

Happy Saturday!!

I’m sure some of them were knowledgable.

It is! There is a regular bus that will stop in front of our home if I call them, and Harry would take me to town if I asked. Hubs has never once complained or delayed when asked to take me somewhere…I just feel all aimless and unfocused now. It would probably be easier if I could see well enough to stitch.

Or learn how to spin, GG is blowing his winter coat and I’m brushing handfuls of fur off him every day.

What a brave girl! Some kitties just take longer than others.

Today is bright and sunny and should get up to 70F today. I’ll probably toss water at my posies but not much else needs to be done. The new tomatoes are doing well, the peat moss seems to be doing its job. This winter I’ll have to remember to dig in another bag.

I can’t really see when things need dusted anymore, but I still wave the duster around weekly. I think that I could probably cut back and leave it to the cleaners because I’m not seeing any difference before and after on the dark wood areas that usually show even just a speck of dust if something has been missed. I’m giving the windows credit for that

There is now a flock of Martin birds poking around in the front lawn, I need to go and find Jolene. More later.

Ziva also - used to be when I brushed her, I might have to clean the brush once. Now, 4 times at least! And that’s not counting her belly, which she won’t let me brush. It’s amazing how much hair such a small cat can generate!

Dishwasher is sloshing. I just made 2 batches of sugar free, fat free pudding - one chocolate fudge, one cheesecake. I think they’re begging to be mixed!

It’s finally up to 63°, but too close to lunch (since I breakfast early, I lunch early.) So after I eat, I’ll venture out for a bit of yard work. Then I need to decide what supper will be. I’m thinking pasta and sauce - either sketties or whatever else is in the pantry. Decisions, decisions…

Yay!

You shouldn’t be too bad if you limit yourselves to one of the yummy desserts a day and eat fruit for any other sweet cravings. It may well be the rest of the food offerings that trip you up.

One of the librarians where I used to live would spin pet hair for you and even knit / crochet it into something (usually a memorial piece) as a side hustle.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP.

I talked to my next door neighbor when I walked Nelson this morning. I gave him my gardening stuff, since I’m not going to even put out herbs this year and he’s a green thumb. I also told him that he could have my rake and shovel (he’s borrowed them on and off since he’s lived there) when I move. So far, he’s the only local that I’ve told of my plans.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

If we ever wondered why our grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, etc., were so vehemently against giving up their keys when they became unsafe to drive. Unsafe that is, in someone else’s judgment, not their own.

Soon enough it’ll be our turn and karma will wreak her revenge upon us.

Good morning!

It’s 52°F and sunny outside. We’re supposed to have plenty of sunshine, and the expected high temperature is 76°F.

VanGo, I hope the union, you and your employer can work out your situation. I can understand being nervous about the union messing things up.

Sticky, I’m glad MusicMan is okay.

BooFae, I’m so pleased Muffin is making progress.

Dicey, I’m glad you’ve found a proper dentist.

I ended up going to both Home Depot and Lowe’s yesterday. I bought lots of soil (container, garden, raised bed, amendments, etc.). I also bought a couple of plants and some gloves. BUT, I forgot to get a new filter for my fridge and to look at some lumber. Those items were the main reason I went there. I was too much in my head, because once again, my husband asked me to pick up lunch as I was heading out the door. So, again, I felt rushed and resentful, which is ridiculous, but there you have it.

Anyway, I stopped and grabbed Jersey Mike’s sandwiches on the way home, ate part of the sandwich when I returned, and then unloaded the Jeep. After that, I cleared out one of my planters because it was completely root-bound and started working on the other pots and planters. I also weeded part of the slope behind all the planters and then watered everything. I was going to mow the lawn too, but it was getting hot, and for some reason, I was entirely out of steam.

I had grand plans for getting out early today to plant stuff and amend the garden and raised bed, but I received a text from T, my friend and former co-worker. We’re meeting for a 30—to 60-minute walk around 11:00 a.m. or so, and I don’t want to be entirely grubby for that.

I’ll work on the yard some after the walk, I guess.

I completely understand being at the mercy of someone else driving one around. I would hate that, too. While I’m sure my husband would do it, he wouldn’t do it on my timetable (I am a get’er-done early in the morning kind of person), and he prefers afternoons. I fear I would become very impatient.

Alright, I’d better get cleaned up so I’m ready to go meet my friend. I hope you all have a beautiful day.

Mrs. L.A. made a protest sign (OUR SOCIAL SECURITY. :down_arrow: NOT TRUMP’S) and she wanted to put it onto a corrugated plastic backing board. She got out the big scissors to cut the board down to size, but could only cut a few inches. She started to cut the edge off in segments. As she got the first segment off and was struggling to continue cutting the edge, I said, ‘It might be easier if you used a razor knife.’ She did. Abbey came to investigate, and Catmom said, ‘Dad’s right!’ When she finished and had the sign glued to the backing she said, 'I feel like such a doofus.

Earlier, she mowed the front lawn. She didn’t want me to strain my neck, but I had to start the mower for her. In actuality, she could have done it herself because she’d made a couple of feeble pulls earlier and then let it sit while she did something else. It only took me one gentle pull to start it.

Wifey’s in the shower now. She wants to go down to Bellingham to check out the protest that’s happening at 14 o’clock. It’s at the intersection where Trader Joe’s is, so parking will be a nightmare. And I’m sure they’re not closing the street.

Happy Saturday! It’s currently 64°F and mostly sunny, with a forecasted high of 69…but it’s also quite breezy (13-15 mph), making it feel a bit cooler. Too cool to open the windows, unfortunately, but – as FCM said – sunshine definitely beats the cloudiness and rain we’ve been having!

Right after I posted here yesterday I went to the grocery store for a few things, but when I got back home the slothing was wonderful. Between catching up on new episodes of the shows I watch and starting a new ABC News documentary series about a particular set of romance scams I got in some quality reading time. I look forward to finishing the docuseries while I eat lunch, then reading some more.

I’m still undecided about going out this evening, but chances are good that I’ll just stay home with Bailey. I think I’m more interested in tomorrow evening’s Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington show.

I keep having moments where I remember that Monday is a holiday. I love those moments. It’ll be nice to only have to commute two days next week.

I understand those words separately, but not together when referring to ice cream. :joy:

I, too, am glad you used the card!

Since my bariatric surgery I can’t eat as much pasta in one sitting as I used to, which makes going to old favorites like Olive Garden and Noodles & Company not really worth it anymore. I miss them, though.

Yay! Go, Muffin!

I think you’re right!

A gorilla cart full of twigs and branches has been gathered and dumped in the woods. I’m sitting here dreaming about a cruise I found - no way we could afford it, but it’s still a WOW! I should clean the critter fountain before I forget, but someone stole my motivator.

Da noive!!

I’ve had more than a few men approach me on FB when I post replies in various threads. The usual line includes stuff about being impressed with my profile and wanting me to friend them or message them. Sure, dude, right away. Especially since my profile is friends only and it says : If you’re my friend, you already know all you need to know about me. I don’t share any info - I deleted everything. My friends know who I married and where I went to school and where I worked, and if they don’t, they can ask.

Anyway, when one of these bozos tries to hit on me, my response is “Go away” and then I block them. Life’s too short.
