(Old) It's a-warmin' up (again!) in the MMP

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, had a sammich N.O.L., had quality cee-mint pond time, which included some nappage. I like to doze on and off whilst upon my float with my cap coverin’ my face. Never fear, I do remember to get out and reapply sunscreen as needed. Then we fixed and et sup. Bonus in that there are leftovers for tomorrow! Also, the biiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Thus has been Sunday in swampland.

Afternoon all. Decided First meal would be sammiches at home, so the eating out portion of the day is still to be determined. Found the battery for the trimmer/edger (in the last place I looked, obviously) and did get the long grass the mower can’t reach trimmed down…but there was Thunder in the skies about then so went to the gym instead and go there about 5 minutes before a 2-hour deluge, so go lots of exercise in while waiting for the skies to clear, which they have now done. May eat at Cheddar’s (no Quietly, I am not coming to eat your kitten), haven’t been there in quite a while.

Cat Glove, Shoe, the rain has knocked the humidity out of the air for now, only 77F, but it’s supposed to get to 90 by the end of the week so it’ll be back in time for my mowage.

{{Sunny}}; hope the headache abates and back behaves.

Been there, had to survive that. Had one at the dawn of the computer age, every few days he would come up with a new report (4-5 pages) he wanted us to do on a regular basis…think the Big Chief finally shut him down.

FCM, can he postpone jury duty? Don’t know the procedures, I have never been called for a jury in my life.

Oopsie, glad to see you checking in. Sounds like you are being energetic and constructive…bit where’s the fun in that?   Sad to hear about your uncle.

Well, did you? You should have, you’ve earned it.

OK, need to head out and get some dinner. All y’all take care.

So after an attack of Sudden Onset Feline Paralysis, I have finished cleaning.

{{{{oopsie}}}}

Every time my A/C kicked on so far today, I can hear the water flowing out of the humidity drain. And prayers foe Coolio.

It’s been a lovely, sunny jammie day here at Camp Nelligan. I, however, have more than the weather on my mind. A week ago, I sent money to my DIL via Zelle. I double-checked her name and cell phone number, but with my vision, I didn’t realize that one digit was off, so it apparently got delivered to the wrong person, and there’s no way to get it back. You’d think Zelle and/or the banks would require the name AND phone number to match the intended recipient’s, as they have both in their system. So I may be out a chunk of money. It’s enough to be painful, but not so much that I’ll be living on ramen noodles for life.

FCM, not to pry, but is FCD 70 yet? If so, he’s probably exempt from having to serve.

Quietly, that is one gorgeous kitteh! And I love the name!

BooFae, I want to do the Alice in Wonderland thing! It sounds like so much fun!

This cracked me up. SO accurate here, too!

Oopsie, I’m so sorry about your uncle.

sunny, I hope the headache is gone, and good luck with the back procedure tomorrow.

Surely that’s the definition of paradise.

It wasn’t too bad. I do glitter in the kitchen (easier cleanup and keeps it away from stuff that just can’t have glitter anywhere on it) in its own box, so not a big mess. I did find a better way to do it though. Now to perfect it.

It sounds like you had a nice visit with your daughter and granddog cat glove.

I’m sorry to hear about your uncle oopsie. Hugs.

I went to turn off the ceiling fan in the bedroom this morning and the chain came off in my hand as it went off. I texted a work order to maintenance and asked them to let me know the day before coming in so’s I could crate Nelson. I hope that it gets done this week.

I’m so glad to read that your Dad is on his way to better health and a better mental outlook! Yay!

No kidding. I’m up to 217/323.

Sari I’m confused. Your dogs are Shar-Pei’s; right? Why are they also called GRs?

Sometimes I am annoyed by this question and answer “Food”. If I’m extremely annoyed, Hubs will get The Look.
Yay for the mattress being delivered and not waking up with body pains!

flyboy that is entirely annoying and frustrating. Perhaps you should consider giving your cell # to the guy on the bay road so he can text you if any more packages show up.

Off to P/U Hubs new 'scrips then to Kroger.

cat glove I believe it’s cuz they look like golden raisins.

As for me, I slept much of the day and am feeling better.

Hope all y’all feeling better too.

Didn’t get a lot done today. As I said, I did get the kayak hung on the wall. We went to the supermarket, only to find that the sale doesn’t begin until the 28th. Got steaks and corn onna cob anyway. Mrs. L.A. painted/is painting the wooden slats on the miniature bench I bought her in 2015. The bench is bronze-finished, and she’s painting the weathered slats blue. I made a ~15-foot tow line for the kayaks just now. (550 cord, and a couple of brass hooks on swivels attached with bowline knots – if I’ve tied them correctly.) And we’ve each eaten half of our steaks and all of the corn. Kingsman: The Golden Circle is playing on the TV.

No, I robbed the cradle. He’s a mere 66. But he called and his number isn’t up yet - no trials tomorrow.

I’m gonna mow in the morning before the afternoon storms move in. Good times!

We keep our pizza bags in a little cubby just under the counter where we bag, box, label, etc.

MicroM pulled out not one, not two, but at least a dozen bags of each size and set them all on the counter.

When I walked up with a pizza, and a box, to use where I normally use that space to put everything together, she told me, “Well, that’s where I like to put the bags.”

The … ones we’re not currently using? Just sitting there. Taking up space, on … the coupla square inches that I need to, yanno, do my job?

In full view of customers? Maybe, yanno … don’t do that?

But she’s my grandboss (at one point, my manager gave me a friendly tug on my sleeve and a quiet “calm down”) but goddamn, you show up maybe once a month and disrupt our entire work flow, and now I’m the asshole.

My Dad was stationed on Adak during WWII. He used to sing a song about Adak and the ending of it goes something like “it’s a suburb of the USA”. My sister, 3 yrs younger, remembers it in its entirety.
ps Thank you for your service. I knew a lot of guys who were with you in 1969. Holy Toledo Sir, you were well traveled.

That worked out well.

One of Hubs’ college buddys has 11 or is it 12. Crazy cat people. :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat:
Cheddar is fetching.

One minute to midnight so I’ll get this posted. I’m at 281/330

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

I met my first wife on Adak. She was a school teacher there. We had the first ever wedding ceremony in the Adak chapel. Yeah, I’ve had a nomadic life. My time in Frankfurt and in Brussels was actually spent traveling to most of the western European capitals and many of the eastern European capitals for work, so the list is even more extensive than I posted. I left them out because I didn’t actually live in them. Much of my most recent time in Anchorage was also spent traveling to towns, villages and remote areas of Alaska for work. The 12 years we lived in Portland was the longest I’ve ever been in one place in my 76 years.

Mowage is done! I didn’t start till after 9, because lazy. But as I write this, it’s roughly 11:20 and I’m showered, dressed, and lunching. Go me!!

Once I’ve finished lunch, I’ll start some laundry because, why not?

And on the Spam email front, Cristina is worried about my prostate. Isn’t she sweet??

I need to mow the lawns today. I’ll probably wait until 10:00. I’ll at lease start shifting wood. I’ve decided I’m going to move it to the near side of the deck (by the catio), and paint the far side first. (Note to self: Buy deck paint.) Then I’ll move it back and paint the near side.

OK, I have heard this term catio, what does it mean? Is it a patio exclusively for cats?
