I love whoever invented sites like timeanddate.com that will answer such questions for you very conveniently. Sorry you didn’t have something like that back in the day.
I am so happy that you are “back in the saddle again”. Ariel might have been a little jealous that her hooman wasn’t riding her, I also hope she got lots of earrubs from me!
Arizona doesn’t do DST. Unless you are on the Hopi Reservation and then you do. Unless you go to the middle of the Hopi Reservation and cross into the small Apache Reservation and then you don’t.
It’s like big Matryoshka doll.
Mom used to make a Frito pie that involved a casserole dish and the oven. It was good back then, but it would probably not be to my adult taste now.
SIGH!!! They are a super bother because Hubs thinks I can’t put them up but he is also a master procrastinator who won’t put them up unless I start nagging and I’m too lazy for that anymore. (yes, I have waited for him to leave and put it up in the past, but I’m not comfortable being on a ladder without someone else around anymore)
Not being a whiskey drinker, I do try to be sure that I always buy real tequila.
Shakes cane in the air! You and your new fangled inventions can just get offa my lawn! (And yeah, that does look convenient!)
Oh, man. I’d put this in mini-rants but y’all know my nonsense & background cast of characters better.
Imma borrow this one. Well put.
Poor guy looked worse today. Said he got no sleep last night. (I bet, that’s a crap place where he’s staying.)
I gave him a few gentle sidearm hugs. (He has a crush on me; yes, we’ve had convos about it, so I don’t wanna be too sweet, but he’s a good guy going through a really rough time & has my very platonic affection, and sympathy. Even if he does sometimes annoy the everluvin’ shit outta me.)
Sprinkles said she wasn’t feeling good, and then told me she’s just started new anti-anxiety meds today.
Yeah, no shit girl! those can really mess with ya. She was gently sipping Sprite when I left and told me it helped.
S.M. is back. She dislikes yogurt almost as much as she dislikes antibiotics, so she’s having a less-than-happy time.
Wandered up to Alternate Manager once most of the early-out tasks were done.
“Hey, I know you’re having, uh, roster issues, but, uh … how soon can I GTFO?” S.M. wandered over, the message was relayed, and she tapped me on th shoulder and said, “Go. Go home.”
Y’all, I may have left skid marks on that kitchen floor!
I bought emergency kibbles for Monks and some dog treats for the ratties, on my “lunch break” so they - plus the “temporary” dragon - need care.
So do I, frankly.
Well, in that department, I have dumplings & some soup awaiting me, once Kritter Kare is accomplished.
I don’t know… It’s a nice touchstone that is very good. I’ve never tried a casserole, though. We ate the out of the bag at the snack window in high school.
Native American reservations are all sovereign nations with their own laws and rules. They didn’t really have any choice as to where they were going to live, I’m positive the Apache’s do not like being surrounded by Hopi’s, but that is all they were given.
Sometimes I’m not a nice person so when NF and I were driving to TX, I would point it out every time my car clock changed and she would dutifully pull her phone out of her purse and change the time. She got all ??? after changing her phone 4 times in three hours and didn’t fall for it again.
Dang…I know he doesn’t leave the home place long enough for you to sneak a handy high school kid in who is good in shop class. I bet Harry knows one too, probably a grandkid. Too bad hippie can’t stop by on his annual fly fishing trip south. I bet his measuring, cutting and ladder skills are beyond reproach. Window film is like quilting, just on a bigger scale.
And late evening all. 9:30pm right now but will be 10:30pm later tonight, so will probably head off to bed fairly soon, being that between soccer and gym I’m tired enough to sleep well…at least I think I will be. Getting a little bit of rain and the temperature will bottom out at 45F, so not moving the heavy comforter to storage quiet yet.
I have read all but absorbed little so I’ll leave any comments for tomorrow, so have a good night and catch y’all on Sunday.
SSRat, I’m glad you have recovered so well from your surgery.
Peedin - excellent horseback riding news.
Turned out I didn’t need the de-icer; warmed up enought that I could chip the ice/packed snow off most of the sidewalk. Will do some more tomorrow and may have it cleared off entirely.
Looking out the door tonight, the two front planters are above the snow line by about 10 inches. Last weekend, they were still covered in snow. We’re having a very gradual melt and the snow level is dropping imperceptibly, until I look back to where it was last weekend.
Good Morning Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN Lots of YAWNS ‘Tis 61 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 63 with rain on and off all day. The big item on the agenda is deheathenization in which I have verger duty. Since it’s the first Sunday in Lent, we will prayThe Great Litany. I like this, but I am also a church nerd, so I would. After that it will be back to da cave for sammiches and nappage. Today is an any need to feed will be via forage day.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I have Sprung Forth. Off today, so it’s the usual morning cleaning, and afternoon sloth. Spot is stalking an ice cube. It’s 42 degrees Ferret Height(5.56 Centipedes), and sunrise isn’t for another 23 minutes.
I’m not going to complain about the stupidity of time change but I am going to comment on the various and sundry ways digital clocks have for setting the time. There are 3 in my kitchen - the microwave, the stove, and the toaster oven. Microwave is the easiest - you push the “clock” button twice and it clears the screen, then you input the numbers for the time and press “clock” again. Toaster oven is next - push “clock” and the hour flashes - change it with up or down arrows- push it again, and the minutes flash, then push it when you’re done. But the stoopit stove - push “clock” twice and the time flashes. Then you push arrows a gazillion times till you get to the time you want. Anyway, they’re all reset, so there’s that.
We’ve got 4 analog clocks upstairs, one (or two?) in the basement, and one in FCD’s shop. They’re easy except for the ones hanging beyond reach - I don’t like stepstools. My car and the truck are simple enough, and FCD’s resets itself. But the newest one in our bedroom had me stumped last night. I need to find the instruction sheet as the buttons are not intuitive. There’s always one, isn’t there?
We’ve got a spring-like week ahead - mostly in the 60s and one day possibly touching 70. One or two days this week, we’ll be cleaning the area of the engine room where the new fuel tanks will be installed. In theory, the tanks will be ready for pickup next week. We may actually be able to take the boat out of its slip by the end of the month!! Or did I just jinx us… Anyway, FCD plans to go there today and sort out some wiring.
My plans include gathering the household garbage and loading it all into my trunk. There are also a gazillion boxes that need to be recycled - I’ll break them down so I can load them into my car along with the 2 or 3 bags of bottles and cans. Then to the convenience center I’ll go. And since we’re down to our last 3 bags of pellets on the second pallet, I’ll have some rearranging to do so I can take the pallet outside. It will go to the convenience center when we detach the trailer from the truck. So I’ll be futzing in the garage for a bit.
THEN if I’m not totally whipped, I’ll do some more raking. And somewhere in there, I’ll pull something out of the freezer for supper. What will it be?? Depends on how deeply I probe.
My microwave, oven, and coffeemaker are easy push button sets. Carmen’s clock requires a drill down through three menus. Ironically, neither of my VCRs have a clock.
