West Virginia. Hm. It has been in my mind that I would like Santa Fe NM ever since I saw it on Rachel Rays show.
If not, then Texas.
West Virginia is beautiful and we used to visit for a couple of weeks a year. It has so much water that it comes out of the rocks and runs down the roads.
The winters are cold and the summers are humid.
Texas is kinda flat and humid all the time. It often gets way too much water and is really hot in the summer. Javalina are a nuisance, feral pigs are down right deadly!
I knew I liked you!🩵
Up from naptime. Drinking a Sazarac, and watching hockey. Spot is sacked out on the coach.
One time I told Gordie to bring me a beer, and he brought me his stuffed bear. He looked proud of himself.
Yeah, that turned into The Longest Day of my life.
Yeah, you are having a day and a half. Hope it gets better. And boss does need to front you the pay.
CatGlove, wow you had a day.
And as far as the “I don’t want to bother you” mentality, sometimes when you spend all you life being the responsible one, because no one else can do it, you keep assuming no one is is will or able to do it. That would be me.
Nifty little house. Make sure you can keep up the lawn care(funny how things grow when water falls from the sky like the complete opposite of Arrakis).
Howdy Y’all! Been home from the big doin’s for a little while, but needed to decompress. A nice crowd showed up and the food got pretty much et up. Yay for that. Also, some good music by our St. Pat’s Leprechauns (the name for a group of guys who sing at stuff like this). I’s tahrd and will soon be abed.
I read all but retention does not exist right now, so yays, boos, hugs, noogies, chitlin’s, trouts, and how you doin’s all around, as needed.
Evening all. Dinner has been dined on and mail collected, so nothing much else on the agenda except readin’ and internettin’, with maybe a little TV in the middle. Feeling pretty good despite the extra exercise, a good sign since once soccer season starts I’ll be out there for 5-6 hours every Saturday, not counting the 3-4 days of practicing during the week.
Coppertone, well, at least you had the sweets and chips…
Flyboy, I think my phone is on the countertop in the kitchen, but I wouldn’t swear to it. Haven’t learned to carry it everywhere yet.
red, Nelson really likes playing with the big boys, doesn’t he?
JtC, well, at least you’ll be close to a reasonable sized-town and have an airport nearby. Outside of that my knowledge of West Virginny is sparse. You’ll be (slightly) closer to FCM than me and red from there.
Cat Glove, sounds like a rather hectic 3 days, with more to come. Take care of yourself during all this, pack some snacks/food with you or around the house so you don’t get caught short again.
doggio, somehow I knew you would get the reference.
And that’s all folks. Waiting for the Southwest Chief to arrive at LaPlata, MO on the Virtual Railfan camera and then a few weekend You Tube channels, the off to reading and bed -time. Catch y’all tomorrow.
Nor have I.
Spot is sacked out on the coach.
I can picture this.
Awwww! What a good dog he was!!!
He’s going to give up the motorcycle, not the wind in his face. A riding mower is in our future, LOL!!!
After talking to the realtor, we aren’t interested in that place anymore due to foundation issues, but hubs gave her a list of our must-haves and she is sending him listings. We have time to spend a few days in WV before I go to TX for the eclipse, so we will fill those days looking at houses and visiting his family.
Hubs was raised in West by-gawd Virginia and identifies as an Appalachian American. That really is a census category, which means I can’t call him a hillbilly anymore
I wonder why you always get the spoiled pets, LOL!!!
He sure is a handsome guy.
He was only off by one letter. :d&r:
Sometimes, that’s his only option. Right now, he can’t ride in the rental car, so going to the dog park is out.
She would likely be much closer to sari than any other Mumper.
You’ve had quite the busy couple of days there cat glove. Hugs to you both.
I finished up the breakfast layout for the cookbooks. Things are coming right along.
hmm. I wondered what was meant by capelet and now I understand but don’t understand why that’s all they give you. At my mammography location (which is the former convent from where I went to grade school) they give us hospital gowns that overlap in front that you then fasten in front. When they do the mammography, you just slip out of one sleeve at a time.
The way I remember to take all the most important things with me when I leave the house is I count to 4, that is, I count as I ensure I have the 4 important things in my pockets: phone, wallet, keys, masks. The few times that I forgot to count to 4, I have forgotten at least one of them, the worst is when I forget the wallet (license).
I suggest that one of the must-haves is being well-insulated. I looked at that picture and thought that the heating bills must be sky high.
The Spartans beat the Buckeyes 2-1 so they will have home ice in the Championship Final next weekend which will be against either ‘the other school’ or the Golden Gophers which is the semi-final currently being played. After 2 periods ‘the other school’ is up 2-zip on the Gophers. yuck. Although Hubs said he would rather we play ‘the other school’ because Minnie is usually so much better.
Night all
Oh, absolutely! Good insulation is a must when living in the desert, of course it is required in snow country. Thanks for the reminder, though. Much of our list has been made after looking at pics of a home and saying that something was on the NO list.
I’m guessing that capelets are cheaper than gowns. But I’m jaded, so there probably is a different reason.
I hope your husband’s recovery is still going well.
Back when phones were small, I always had my phone in my pocket. The big smart phone I have now is usually left on my desk. I don’t think I really need a smart phone anymore but I’m too cheap to pitch a perfectly good tech toy so I can buy a different tech toy.
And won’t everyone be all kinds of jealous if I got pics of the GR!!!
Mom is throwing a fit at the idea of us moving further away. I don’t usually lie to her, but I told her that we would go and look at homes in Boise in July before making our decision so she needed to research good areas to live in.
She also told me that she lost her threads for this year’s mystery piece so I’ve reached out to the designer. I know the threads are in her house but I do want her to be able to start our new piece when we get the first lesson.
I don’t remember where sari is but that house is only 234 miles from me (approx. 3.5 hours). Doperfest!
Hubs will make the beer!!!
Mrs. L.A. had two pairs of socks on the ottoman. She said, ‘I’m getting a collection of socks.’
Fortunately, I stopped myself before switching consonants.
Docks? Rocks?
Remarkably fast close tonight, considering it was the Saturday before St. Paddy’s.
I can’t believe I was home and de-pantsing before 2 a.m.
Anyone wanna place bets on whether or not there’ll be green vomit in our parking lot by tomorrow night?
Monkey has been stymied from his recent new trick of running out the door into the darkness, and is consequently making rather aggressive war (love?) to a paper towel roll.
Sometimes, ya just gotta take out your frustrations.
Well, obviously there wasn’t nearly enough piled on my crap sammich. I came out to find the fridge door ajar. Dammit. So I pulled it out and unplugged it and after it sits a bit, I’ll see if it’ll come back on. Dammit.
And this after maybe 5 hours of sleep max.
And then an email from UHaul that we’ve got to go waaaaaaay down the county to get the truck tomorrow, and they’ve got us set for a 20’ truck when a 10’ would be too big. Dammit.
I should have stayed on an iceberg.
Not a happy Sunday. Dammit.
OK, plugged the fridge back in and it appears to be working. We shall see. Resisting the urge to open the door again… and again… and again…
I’m caffeinated, so I’m regaining my perspective. Slowly…
Glad the fridge is working, FCM!
MusicMan and I are on our way to see one of my stepsons baptized (he’s an adult). It’s about a two hour drive to get there. Hopefully all goes well. I did ask an AI chat bot to give me some funny tips on what to do and not do at a baptism. They were pretty good. I’ll post them sometime later.
Happy Sunday, everyone.
