(Old) MMP and Chill - Winter is Here

Good morning.

It’s 52°F and foggy this morning. The expected daytime high is 55°F, with rainfall anticipated this afternoon.

Red, piling on here. I’m worried about you. Please check if there is a nurse line or urgent care/ER available and visit them today, if you haven’t already done so.

If I could have my counters redone, I’d probably opt for quartz due to its ease of care. I wouldn’t go with tile, for sure.

Shoe, no judgement on what you’re eating. I’m glad you’re eating.

Oopsie, I’m sorry about your friend and her son. How scary that must be for that family.

JtC, good on you for volunteering. And, I agree with you, this reapplication process is needlessly cruel.

VanGo, loved the pic of Ms. Peach!

Doggio, Spot looks very judgmental in that picture. Love it!

The cold or whatever this is persists, but I think I’m coming out on the tail end of it. My head (and ears) are still stuffy, but the cough is becoming more productive. Unfortunately, my husband seemed to be coming down with the same thing last night. He’s still in bed, so we’ll see how he feels when he wakes up.

I don’t have any plans for today, except to wash the bedding and towels. I had been sleeping in the guest bed, so I wasn’t breathing on my husband all night. And, since I’m doing the guest bed sheets, I’ll just take care of primary bedroom bedding, too.

I may run out to the store for some soup ingredients, though. Homemade chicken soup might just hit the spot.

Please take care of yourselves.

Me, too. We have granite and while I like it in theory, I hate that the “pattern” and colors are all as nature decided. The one we chose hides crud stuck on top so I have to constantly run my hand over the surface to see if they’re clean or not. And, frankly, I have no problem with formica, but I do like being able to set hot pots right on the counter. Not that we can afford to do anything with them anyway. Not after all these boat expenses…

Sanding is finished - it was a lot easier than I expected. I wrapped the sandpaper around a folded shop rag and was able to sand both edges plus the groove itself all at once. Lots faster than FCD’s method. Gee, I should be a tool designer. Oh, wait, I was… I’m taking a break before doing the grubby garden work.

Very windy and overcast here - so much for the promise of sun. Stoopit weather. Maybe I’ll wait til after lunch to venture out. Or not. Indecision is the key to flexibility after all.

Well good morning all. Slept through the night again, I think the key maybe to drink less than 3 liters of fluids a day to keep my urination in check, I will monitor and experiment with this during the week and see what happens. Sunday NY Times has been procured and even ordered a couple new T-shirts on-line to add to my collection, so it has been a moderately active morning for me. Another nice day heading to 71F and no rain in sight.

And now to see what’s about with the rest of the MMP…scrolling powers activate!

Knots, hope nephew enjoys his new ride; have never owned a pickup truck in my life and have driven them only a couple of times, they just never appealed to me.

Piper, didn’t mean to drag that all out, I was just teasing a bit, but that was a horrid way to lose…I still remember the Missouri ‘5-down’ game.

JtC, that sounds like they have a system problem, hopefully you can renew over the phone without too much hassle.

shoe, sweet (and long-lasting) dreams. And get back to bed, a couple hours ain’t doing it!!

Happy Chalicing, swampy

boo fae, thanks for the review. I don’t go to bars normally, but if I ever make it back to England I’ll pop into a couple. And you always seem to have such great Saturday nights, keep up the tradition.

FCM, hope the arm heals, I’d be a little worried that your bleeding so readily, hope it’s just the rough bandages. Happy sanding and gardening day!

And you too, along with husband-unit. Soup sounds like a grand idea.

Yep, me too (albeit I probably don’t do that as often as you do).

And onward into the day. Have a good one all.

Bleed stop products really do work to stop the bleeding and promote healing. Just sayin’

One of the justifications for this is making everyone prove their citizenship again. The state systems are connected to the federal systems. There is NO way to proceed with an application if citizenship isn’t verified. Usually, the system does it automatically with birthday and SSN but sometimes other documentation has to be provided. All of that documentation is then scanned into the system and attached to the clients records. So…its all there already. This is just hurting people and causing needless OT and worker stress for nothing.

Blushing. Thank you. I’m actually just fed up and a fed up old woman can be a fearsome thing at times.

I found and bought some laundry bluing, my wimple is screaming white now. I want to be seen today.

I’m glad you got your tanks at least half way refilled. Are you going to be open on Thanksgiving? I forgot what happened last year, so don’t know if pizza is a popular T-day option.

What a disaster! Its so good more beer could be found close by.

Thanks, I’m sure it will be no problem at all when I remember to call them. Its just a bother, I wanted to get it done and commspeed bit me on the butt again.

Its time for me to start loading up to head to the capital. I’m still undecided about wearing tights under my skirts, it will be in the upper 40’s which is really cold to me, but I’ll also be standing in the sun. I guess I’ll bring them and decide when I get there.

Have good days and stop getting sick. Red, I really hope you are feeling better today.

Ain’t that the truth! You go, girl with your blazing white wimple!

You should see the yard signs in my front yard. I stopped pulling punches and it is great.

Quite the beer shortage - hope this is just an anomaly.

Hubby liked the jeans I ordered, but the coat didn’t work out. According to the website, that coat runs small, so I ordered one size up. So it fit around me, but the sleeves were way too long. So it’s going back.

Made carrot loaf, which still needs maple iceing, and blueberry loaf, which already got its glaze. I need to slice and freeze them. Did back stretches this morning and that seems to be helping. Need to repeat them this evening before I go to bed. Yesterday I did them in the morning, which meant I was doing better, but really stiffened up overnight.

Home from church job. Do not consider it deheathening, because my heathenization is far too profound. Today’s precessional hymn was “At the Name of Jesus” which includes the line “from the lips of sinners, unto whom he came” which always sets me snickering just as I’m supposed to be bowling to the altar, because I am perpetually 12.

This afternoon is the Chamber Chorus concert. Lots of loud, high singing. It’s a program of protest songs (from Martin Luther to Bob Dylan). Some angry stuff.

We’re going to change the kittens’ names to Mayhem and Menace (not really). Today Hazel attacked my wife’s hand while she was meditating and left her with a long scratch along her pinky. Hazel has some sort of vendetta against hands.

Laundry is done and the daughter has canceled. So the rest of the day will be a snoozer.

Home from church.
Checking football scores.
Hoping the Ravens win, she posts, from somewhere near Cleveland.

We didn’t go to church today. The Wife said she didn’t know why she didn’t want to go today; she just didn’t.

O, happy day!

Any job/temp prospects in the Bellingham to Marysville stretch of I-5, where the traffic gums up less badly than below?

Nothing yet, other than an AP clerk position in Sedro-Wooley. (They asked about DoD security clearances, so I’m hopeful they have something.) If you have any contacts…

Alas, I mostly know poets and therapists in the Roseburg to Blaine I-5 corridor, but I’ll let you know if I hear of anything. Do you have skills that someone like PeaceHealth could use?

Lots of experience with data processing. I’d do entry-level data entry to get my foot in the door.

I napped. The dog chomped my hat. At least it was less expensive than my glasses.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated. I didn’t spill any wine, so I consider that a win. We went to the Food Kitty on the way back to da cave and bought two Hungry Man frozen turkey dinners. Shoe put the thought in my haid. We shall eat ‘em one night this week. Tomorrow is men’s night over to the church house, so maybe Tuesday. Nappage occurred and sup got fixed and et. Also the biiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. An installer from ATT is showin’ up sometime between eight and ten tomorrow mornin’ to do stuff so we can use the spiffy new fiber optic stuff. Our internet bill will be there dollars cheaper. Now we can afford that villa on the French Riviera that we’ve always dreamed of!

I cleaned, dusted and vacuumed. I cahnged the litter in Spot’s box, took out the trash and recycling, and refilled the vermin feeding station. It was in the 70s, so I had the windows open. Packers won in the Meadowlands, in spite of the wind making everybody miss their kicks. And the Panthers won in OT in Hotlanta. Even the Dolphins won. So I’m celebrating with the usual Wisconsin Old Fashioned, poke loin, and baked N.O.T.. Spot is somewhere being cat and mysterious.

A Pub With No Beer?

Sounds like a normal December game at Lambeau.

“Your rod and thy staff comfort me”
“O, Come, All Ye Faithful.”

Riders are up, 15-7, with 2 minutes left in first half.

I’ll let you know if I hear of anything.

Thank you.

Shake ‘N Bake poke Cheops, mashed Yukons, and packet country gravy for dinner tonight. Shake ‘N Bake discontinued including shaker bags with their coatings, saying it’s to reduce plastic waste. Only now instead of a lightweight, right-size, free, shaker bag, I have to use a gallon-size zip top bag that is too big, not free, and heavier than the discontinued bags; so that created more plastic waste.
