Old Musical Revues: An Appreciation

Last night at Wal-Mart I picked up a copy of Swing Parade of 1946 for 5 bucks. It had on its cover my beloved 3 Stooges and I bought it because I have most all of their episodes but very few of their films.

I would just like to say how pleasantly surprised I was by the music as well as the acting, dancing and comedy. I think we take too much for granted with today’s technology, and directors in that bygone era were able to accomplish surprisingly much with what little technology was available to them.

1946 was three years before I was born, but in watching the film I developed a certain yearning to meet the people who starred in it. Yes, I know they have probably all passed away, but it leads me to ask if there might be a way whereby one might meet some of these stars (and stars they were!) and spend a little time with them? I hope I’m not being “schmaltzy” in sharing this with you and wonder if there are any others like me among you?

Thanks
