I have some work to do today and didn’t think I’d have time to post before I head to MD – because I really shouldn’t – but I am nothing if not a procrastinatrix so here I am.
Happy Fathers Day, again, to all who observe!
I’ve had a new handheld showerhead (for the en suite) sitting on the bathroom counter, in its box, since shortly after I moved in: this morning I finally took the pliers and plumbing tape out of my toolbox (on the main floor) and brought them upstairs. Progress! While the current showerhead is serviceable – it’s big enough, but the water pressure is “meh” and it isn’t adjustable; it reminds me of a hotel shower – I definitely prefer handheld models, and install them wherever I live.
Right now it’s 10:30am; I’ll head north in two hours. Here’s hoping that the I-495 and I-95 traffic gods smile on me (both ways)!
It’s only a 40-mile drive, but often a real PITA. My dad and brother and I see each other ~4 times a year, and we tend to share the pain: generally I go there for bro’s birthday and Fathers Day, and they come here for my and dad’s birthdays (3 weeks apart; we combine that lunch) and Christmas.
Very cute!
I’ll finish the wolf this evening, and will likewise share a pic.
The four other sets waiting for me are NYC - The Big Apple, Dumbledore’s Office Book Nook, Snoopy’s Doghouse, and the Shelby Cobra 427 S/C. And the one I ordered yesterday is Diagon Alley Wizarding Shops, so I could get the Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci gift with purchase.
(I already have the tributes to Jules Verne, Galileo, and Jane Austen.) I used points for that one, and was able to lower the cost by more than half.

I lost Bailey in mid-September: she was 17, and I’d had her since she was 12 weeks old. Thankfully, the rest of the drama didn’t really start until 8 months later! But yeah, a lot has happened since early May: part of a molar cracked off and I needed a crown, one of my project managers quit with no notice[1], a new hire started, and I moved for the first time in 12 years[2] (I’m still renting).
On July 1 I’ll be completely free of the previous house, and I hope to have a backfill for the project manager hired (if not on board) by August 1. I’m really looking forward to September, for both the latter and the usual “cooler weather” and “birthday month” reasons…though the Bailey anniversary will be tough.
Yikes. ![]()
Oh thank goodness!
Ugh, I hated that feeling; I had it occasionally with both Bailey and my previous pet (Smokey The Cat). First you feel terrified and heartsick, then murderous when you discover the hidden animal! ![]()
