(Old) OK, I’ll Start the MMP

At the gym and taking a break after working off the first 500 calories. Will play with the weights next and then get the other 500 burned. Dinner will be a Big Bowl of Salad since the bag expires today, so may pick up a protein bar or two for balance.

Still deciding if I like this new phone or not, I did manage to get a pin established with a 5-minute lag time, so I am at least that competent.

OK, on to the weights.

Unfortunately, it’s a one-day event, so maybe next year?

I’ve finished (finally!!) the nav board covers. Well, except for the snaps. but they need to be lined up with the boards on the boat. Supper will be steak and some vegetable matter. FCD replaced the broken water supply valves to the deep sink - I’ll put it back in place tomorrow. Just don’t feel inclined to mess with it today.

OK, time to sous vide the steak. Off to the kitchen I go!

I’m waiting for someone to name their kid Sous Vide.

Estimate went up; I guess after they took off the bumper they found more damage. Now $9340. Blue book value is like 8-9k on that car, so I’m bracing myself for them to total it.

SWMBO told me to get new reading glasses a few months ago, because the ones I was using were leaving dents in the bridge of my nose. A temple on the new pair broke off a little bit ago, so now I’m back to the old denting ones. Bloody things cost me a fin down at the hardware store!

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put where it stays until it gets dirty again. I also did the trip to :astonished_face:Wally Jr. I got an email from the county utility office to tell me my auto payment was declined. I called and was informed that was due to a glitch in the system and everything is fine. As long as they don’t cutoff the water, don’t pickup the trash, or charge me a late fee all will be fine. If any of those things happens a personal visit will happen. It also includes a charge for the streetlight in front of da cave. I have been known to call repeatedly when it goes out. They charge three dollahs a month for it so it dang well better work. I feel it my duty as a grumpy old man to ensure that streetlight works.

knotty meat of a lawyer sounds like an ingredient in a witch’s brew. Perhaps a substitute for eye of newt.

Taters glad you don’t have a fracture. May your laig feel better soonest.

MetalMouse the rain is due to visit here sometime in the wee hours tomorrow. It may be a lot or very little. TWPTB are will-nilly on this.

Wait, so they charge you for the streetlight in front of your house? Isn’t it on a public road and ought to be paid by the town?

I’ve got a much too rambunctious dog. Ms Peach is being a PTIA.

Dinner: Warmed meatloaf & provolone sandwich, cottage cheese, & wine. Yum. The Missus is making herself a Cajun turkey (from the deli) & provolone sandwich.

Watching the Prime Time Olympics on CBUT.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Hubs, I think he had a good day. I know he went to sleep smiling

We had lunch at our favorite Mexican place and I didn’t find the vase of my dreams at the consignment mall, but we can go back another time.

I wanted to buy him some Harley shirts from AZ but when I looked at the websites none of them were branded with the store name and logo. I noticed that when we were at Mothman Harley-Davidson, because I wanted to buy one there. I’ve since asked friends to look and they have come up empty handed, all of the merchandise is standard from store to store now. That’s no fun, we enjoyed collecting souvenir t-shirts and it looks like that not a thing anymore.

He says if all I can get is generic HD shit, he’ll just wear his plain ones now. Sigh.

The drive was lovely but Huntington, despite being a big university city, doesn’t seem to own any snowplows. The roads were a mess and the sidewalks weren’t clear so people were walking in the clear parts of the road.

Chapmanville has 9000 people and also owns two snowplows and budgets gas money for them every year…

The above was a fun piece and I learned a new way to do buttonhole stitches that I like much better. I spent most of yesterday evening and today finishing it up so I still have to call Mom. I just wanted to check in and say that I’ve read all and will try to respond better in a bit.

{{{Maus}}}

I’d never heard of them either, but Lady SCAdian and I visited Trader Joe’s today (for the first time) and she bought a couple.

‘A’ Gang solution to mechanical problems: Hit it with a hammer. If that doesn’t fix it, get a bigger hammer and try again.

((((Nellie & Daughter}}}}

Happy next birthday, doggio!!

How about the bit?

Pączki are back in the stores – hurray!

And apparently we’re having a heat wave here – 32 ferrets today, 27 tonight (with rain and snow), and 39 tomorrow.

Evening all. Once the exercise was done and the Big Bowl O’Salad consumed, along with other odds and ends (like a couple of hot dogs), have pretty much parked myself a the computer terminal and whiled away the evening hours. There is rain in the area but not storming yet, that’ll come in about an hour according to the weather wizards and stick around into the early morn. It appears the thundery stuff is staying north of me in Tennessee. Temperature is still 61F, so a good night is anticipated.

And time to play tomato sauce… (catch-up).

nellie, you may know the shot procedure better than the person who administered the shot; by all means check in with the Doc, call again if you don’t get a response in good time. And if they don’t have the Sugar Bee (or they are too pricey) I recommend trying Envy apples, I really liked them.

Flyboy, thanks for the song and the grin on my face.

Pavo, I’d be looking around for a replacement vehicle I think. Do you have a Carmax near you, they treated me very well when I sold my old car last year and had quite a selection on their lot.

swampy, glad they caught the glitch, their response may indicate you were not the only unfortunate victim of the computer error.

JtC, lovely work there. I have a Harley T-shirt from their store in Abu Dhabi, it’s the only one I have but it’s still usable.

Herald, looking forward to your apple-eating review. And a hammer and duct tape can fix a myriad of problems, IMHO. Enjoy the heat wave.

And that’s all the reportage for this day. Back with all y’all tomorrow.

She’s been confined too long because it’s winter.

I still have a couple of those even though it’s been forty-something years since I’ve owned a Harley. Most were from stopping with an ex who rode HD for quite a few years (he rides a Valkyrie now). BTW, nice work!

I’m jealous!

The mopping got done today and I made three Halloween cards this evening.

Up from naptime. Having a Manhattan and chicken and bean burritos for dinner. Boy Korey and Girl Cory lost in the mixed curling final, settle for Silver. :frowning:

I could do that. After 5 martinis.

Because sometime you need to take the Istanbul by the horns.

Scholl enough!

Yoga’d, showered, and fed. Buffalo Wings can be quite the band-aid. Now it’s time to read about Eldritch Tomes and Forbidden Knowledge. Rolling a sanity check.

Forgot to add my hippy bird-day wishes to doggio!

Not much going on here casa paint. Too much to do at work, not enough time. I’ve got 4 different projects that are all listed as urgent. But no one is going to die if’n I don’t get them done. At worst, some kids don’t get to see the cool thing I’m building until a little later.

I came back to say Happy Birthday to doggio and now I’m heading off to bed. Its been raining for the last hour and listening to the rain at night always makes me drowsy.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s currently 59 degrees Ferret Height(15 Centipedes), which is 30 degrees warmer than the low at this time.

Peach In The A$$?

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 9c/48f with a predicted high of 10c/50f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Cloudy with the occasional fucking sunny fart.”

:birthday_cake: :bottle_with_popping_cork: Belated happy birthday, doggio! :bottle_with_popping_cork: :birthday_cake:

No fractures is always good news, I hope they can organise some other kind of therapy to help with the pain and swelling.

I thought of you on my daily commute this morning, @Maus_Magill - I buy a day ticket for the local transport network and as well as the date, it has a different word every day. Today’s word is Fang!

Mooom sorry to hear that Tobias is poorly, I hope he doesn’t spread it around to anyone else.

Quite possibly because “curb” has an entirely different meaning and the 17th century might have been when we started building decent roads with proper pavements (and kerbstones!)

Yesterday was a busy one in the end. I got my online shopping order in good time so managed to get all of that stashed away before ‘im indoors even got out of bed. I had a lot of stuff to cover for my holidaying minion, much of it was straightforward and got done but I found some problems with a few things so had to raise queries with people. Much has been resolved, there are still two things being worked on this morning with midday deadlines so I can get onto releasing marks and feedback for 17 modules this afternoon.

The mobile mechanic turned up at lunchtime, it took him all of 5 minutes to diagnose a completely dead battery, and put a new one in. He said it most likely had a dead cell inside, it was so totally drained it wouldn’t even have charged up with a powerpack. So we are mobile again!

More irk ensued, I logged off about an hour later than usual and went downstairs to do campus food preparation. ‘im indoors made dinner so I had some sofa time with Blossom. I managed to finish a book I’d been reading but not enjoying much, so now I can move onto something else. Dinner was pulled pork burritos as that was the mystery meat that came out of the freezer.

Tonight I will probably make chilli as I’ve got mince in the fridge. Might go to the pub, might not, probably will.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 74 and rainy off and on. We made the executive decision not to procure provisions. Just a few things are needed and a quick stop at Food Kitty whilst out and about will take care of that. Wednesday doin’s over to the church house resumes tonight, so that will take care of sup. A decision was made to have it only on the first Wednesday of the month. It will start with Eucharist, then sup, then kiddie and adult group stuff and choir practice. I think we will go a little early so’s I can deal with candle duty just to get it done.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then onward into the day! Rah. Hark! I hear rain.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

The plumbing is complete and the new shower/tub unit is installed and working. The water pressure is amazing, in both the kitchen and the bath. Now all we are waiting for is the drywall guy. He was supposed to be here after lunch yesterday. We emptied out the bathroom, the linen closet and the coat closet so that he had unobstructed access to everything that needs patching.

The result was that everything was piled into the other rooms. About 2.30pm he called and said that is Tuesday job was running behind and he would not be here until 9.00am today.

We will see…
