(Old) Pet pics in the MMP

We went to the 12:15 showing of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. I thought it was fine, but The Missus thought it was boring.

Afterward we went to Tokyo House in Bellingham. We each had a piece of flying fish roe, octopus, and another nigiri. She had a bowl of seafood ramen, and I had a volcanic bowl of sundubu with beef. We each had a large Sapporo. No sake this time.

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Y’ALL!!! My DAWGS won against the Rocky flops in overtime 44-41. What a game! OYKW said I was relatively behaved and won’t need extra speshul double sekrete confession tomorrow. I did have a few almost heart attacks however. I am sure much mournin’, wailin’ and gnashin’ of teeth is happenin’ in Obknoxville tonight.

Pilot have fun with the gf reunion.

Cookie have fun with the family. I have never had lumpia. I feel deprived.

{{{Oopsie}}} that was beautiful. Post as much or as little you want about how you feel. We’re here for that.

Taters Buster and Maisie look like such wonderful cuddly fur babies! Also, nice garden!

MetalMouse thanks to technology I probably could watch a game poolside. However it would take some effort and as a RDOS, I am required to put forth as little effort as possible.

Coppertone hope all goes well with the trainin’.
And now this…
< AHEM > CLEARIN’ THROAT < AHEM >

HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!

Happy Birthday Pilot!

Just a drive by of my own. My new stretcher bars arrived and I have been testing them out.

I did snortle about Monkey trying to hid in his Tron suit and then got depressed that shoe is too young to have really gotten the movie.

Otherwise, nothing. Stitching, my shoulder hurts again because I’m too stoopid to remember that I have a torn rotator cuff so shouldn’t do the same repetitive motion for hours a day.

I’m going to start the Secret Santa thing this year, I need to go check in there now.

Not a particularly late night, but it will be my final for Sattiday; ended up going to the gym again (and probably shouldn’t have, my toes are achin’ something fierce) and should sleep very well this evening. Did watch the last part of the Georgia-Tennessee game and thought about swampy as it played out. Been internetting most of the evening as that is all I have the energy for.

lily, congrats on the near-completion of your book; I’m sure it will be most appreciated.

And a good(albeit late) Hippo-Birdie wish to Pilot. And you need to come up with a good story about acquiring that eye; should involve ICE agents if possible…

swampy, like I said above, watched the game at both they gym and home, it was quite the tussle, Georgia can be happy the young kicker did his own ‘wide right’ thing at the end.

And that’s about the end of my Ambition for the evening. Think I will go to BJ’s restaurant for Sunday Dinner tomorrow, as it’s “My Choice” week. Catch y’all then.

Short nap, not helped by a full bladder and an alert for a crime from Georgia. Tonight’s dinner is a Vieux Carré and fish stew with black bean and garlic sauce. Spot is yowling at me for something I meowed.

Or he was a Bond villain.

I admire your commitment to your gym schedule!

I had to google sundubu to find out it’s a Korean dish. Sounds delicious, though.

And Happy Birthday! I think it’s technically still your birthday even if you may not read it today.

Mosssst (but not all) places do paid training - did they tell you if your training time was paid? (I hope it is!)

Huh, that’s a new one to me.

Me, too. :frowning: Bucket list, amirite?

“You should see the other guy .. “ usually works.

Is this a prepared dish, and if so, from where? Cuz that sounds like a yummy combo to me.

He’s out in it again tonight. It’s even funnier when he does come when called … then there’s a faraway blue light that starts bopping & bouncing in my direction. I can see when he hops the fence or jumps over a branch - the blue light goes UP and then continues bopping my way. Absolutely hilarious, prolly one of the best purchases I’ve made in a while.

Mumpers, there is only one (1) slice of garlic bread in the freezer, and one (1) frozen garlic knot. There shall soon be none of either.

I have also consumed all the whomp croissants.

Please keep me in your thoughts during this difficult time. I shall soon be bereft of garlic-flavored carbs, and I don’t know how I shall manage to survive.

Gorgeous! Looks like a lot of work to maintain that.

During COVID, some of my parents’ neighbors learned how much work my parents put into their garden, and realized that their gardens will never look that good, because they aren’t interested in doing the work.

Happy belated birthday @LSLGuy!

My husband is a dog person, but we’ve never had a dog. At one point I asked him if he thought he might want to get a dog after retirement. He realized he’s too lazy and doesn’t want to have to worry about a dog every time we go somewhere. So no dog. But the shelter visits sound like something to do when we’re retired. We still have a few years to think about it.

@purplehorseshoe Love the picture and stories about Monkey in his new finery. Considering he’s a cat, I shouldn’t be surprised that he was so close and chose to ignore you.

@nelliebly Your stories about your floor has motivated me to clean my wood floor has now been cleaned. Probably doesn’t get as much attention as your floor, but at least it got some. Normally it just gets vacuumed.

Poor Peach. Is there another location without scary sliding doors? I could imagine she’s not the only one with that fear.

Make sure the rat takes care of himself. No collapsing on the field because you forgot to hydrate/eat!

In the last two years, Korean foods seems to be trending here, such as Korean hot dogs and stuff with gochujang. Is Switzerland just late to the party?

I have tomatoes roasting in the oven with garlic and olive oil. You are in my thoughts.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! YAWN Up and caffeinatin’. ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 85 and sunny. Looks like that will be the forecast for several days. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization in which I have verger duty. Then we will bring stoner food back to da cave for lunch. Nappage, day drinkin’ and other RDOS inactivities will make us the rest of the day.

Now it’s time for more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization shall commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Taters, I love all of your pictures! So beautiful!!

And now I’m observing a moment of silence for shoe and I shan’t even mention the delicious, garlicky corn that we had yesterday with our pierogis and kielbasa. Cause that’s probably the same, right?

I slept from about 8pm to 5 am this morning! And it was nice for a change! I was awakened several times, but I managed to go back to sleep. Since I was unavailable, MusicMan went out to a local club and didn’t get home until quite late. That’s ok, though, because I’ve had several people tell me to take time for myself instead of working all weekend. So, I’m going to start working in the next 45 minutes and then quit working for the day when he gets up so that we can spend some time together.

I might also play around with some clay as I’m participating in a very small craft show next weekend. It’s at a grooming shop, so I want to make some pet related items, probably magnets and ornaments to go along with all of my other things that I generally have for sale.

Morning.

Taters your garden pics inspired me to actually go out and get on with the weeding I’ve been putting off for ages. The garden here is very overgrown in parts and I still have major work to do to it (which I will do myself, I don’t want random people who have no idea what anything is attempting it) and this involves squeezing between the old badly placed row of miscellaneous shrubs and the new baby beech hedge I planted last year to pull out grass and sycamore seedlings that could swamp the baby hedge.

Everything’s wet; there’s no prospect of it drying out in the next couple of weeks, so I’m getting a shower at the same time.

It is not a fun job. I have been putting it off for a reason.

On the more fun gardening side, I’m also planning out a new bed for which I expect to get lots of new plants in a few weeks- a local botanical garden does an annual sale, where they typically have a really amazing selection of perennials which have been dug up as spares/splits from a big public show garden nearby. As well as the prices being really low anyway, the last two times I’ve been, they’ve just told me to take as much as I wanted for £20 because everything was getting chucked out at the end. Fingers crossed this time it’s the same!

In my first engineering job, I had a Filipino coworker and guess what he always brought to pot-luck lunches? YUM!!

Thoughts and prayers, darlin’. Thoughts and prayers. :folded_hands:

I have no idea what’s on today’s calendar. i want to run to Food Lion for a couple of items, but I’m putting my major shop off till Thursday when the new Aldi opens. The first 100 customers get goodies and I’m debating whether to attempt an early line-up. It’s not like I need a totebag full of stuff. We’ll see how I feel Thursday morning.

FCD has decided he doesn’t want to go to the boat show. I’m kinda glad. It’s a 90-ish minute drive to the Naval Academy stadium where we pay to park, then catch a shuttle bus into town. Then after wandering thru the show, we have to catch another shuttle back to find our car and drive yet another 90 minutes home. Which would be fine if we were in the market for specific stuff. But it’s much easier to search on line. And, frankly, over the last 40-ish years, we’ve attended many a boat show and they’re always pretty much the same, right down to the vendors selling Cutco knives or assorted jewelry. I’m glad we’re going to pass this year.

Tomorrow I’ve got an appointment with my cardiologist - he wanted to see me in 6 months. I figure I’ll be lucky to spend and entire minute with him, but I’ve not noticed any issues and he’s going to scold me for not keeping up with my 150 minutes of cardio a week. < hanging head in shame > That’s fine - I’ll do my best to stay ahead of any health issues before I get really old and decrepit.

So today will unfold and we’ll wing it. Happy Sunday!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Morning cleaning and afternoon bad handegg are on today’s agenda.

Spot: “Brrt.”

From Chez dogbutler Basically Bachelor Food with broccoli, 'shrooms, onions and peppers and seasoned with Black Bean Garlic Sauce, with a little extra ginger, sou sauce, and chili oil.

Italy: < dies of apoplexy >

That, and go to adoption events, toss a few bucks at the rescue organization and pet all the dogs.(especially good when they do it at a taproom)

I had 380 minutes of it yesterday. Admittedly it was work, but…

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/53f with a predicted high of 15c/60f and a chance of rain. Weather app says “You could go outside and fucking dance naked in the rain, but then you’d end up making the fucking news.” I think I’ll give that a miss, thank you.

:birthday_cake: :cocktail_glass: Happy birthday, Pilot:cocktail_glass: :birthday_cake:

I’d still be in a t-shirt and shorts at that temperature, still too hot for me. I’m still sleeping with the windows on and (usually) the duvet covering very little of me!

Cookie Sade is a beautiful lady.

I am very good at putting off chores for all sorts of reasons, chief of which is Don Twanna. I ought to shove the rollsuck around the house but can’t be bothered today. Maybe tomorrow.

{{{{{Oopsie}}}}} I know a lot of us can related to what you wrote in your drop-down, I’ve certainly been through that more times than I wanted to. You did the right thing, and how you deal with “afterwards” is up to you, and different for all of us.

Great photos - the puppers look very happy and you have a beautiful garden.

It’s good to hear that he is really starting to focus on the daily details of having a dog, rather than just the nice feeling of having a pet. I think ‘im indoors would be the same, he keeps saying he wants a dog and I keep saying no because I know I would end up doing most of the work - I already do most of the cat stuff, he occasionally empties litter trays if he remembers but I’m the one who does everything else.

It’s in Merridale, you never know what you’re going to find there

Not quite, but it’s a great way to look at it! Most of the time we’ll go to a gig and there’s three bands in one night. Other days where it’s a music festival, there may be 8-10 bands during the day so that increases the count quite a bit! Last night, there were two full bands and a solo acoustic artist to open up, which makes our total 161 bands now!

I hope there is a mumper close enough to you that they can send emergency supplies, it is unacceptable to find oneself devoid of garlic lusciousness!

That is the best advice - there might be some work that needs to be done, but you also need to have some time for yourself, and for you and MusicMan. And Annie, there’s always time for Annie

That’s a very good deal! My mum would have had me round there with a rental van if she’d known she could have whatever she wanted for such a bargain price!

Sounds like a sensible decision, it’s a lot of driving and walking for a show you could probably walk through in your head without all the faff.

Yesterday was busy, but fun. I did a couple of hours of bucket-rattling for Little Paws at a local supermarket (we raised £220 which will go towards the vet bills for a cat with cancer who came into the rescue very recently), then scooted round the store to get some milk for ‘im indoors because apparently that’s much easier than him walking to the corner shop to get his own milk

I had an hour or so at home to chill and drink tea before getting in the shower and getting ready to go out. We met up with a friend for a curry, then went to The Posada for a drink before heading to the Giffard. The Posada was busier than usual at that time of day, so we went out to sit in the courtyard at the back, and met one of the gig promoters and the guy who was doing the opening act on our way through the pub. Had a chat with them, then went to the Giffard for the rest of the night.

Three really good acts, lots of hugs and chatter with our gig friends, and after the music finished, we went downstairs and found ourselves a seat in the corner to people-watch. Much fun was had, and we managed to leave before 3am when Wendy turns the lights on and shoos everyone out.

Today is my day of slothage, and I need to have a think about what I’m doing next week as my work schedule is a bit different. I usually have three consecutive days on campus so I batch cook food for that, but this week I have Monday working at home, Tuesday on campus as we’ve got one of those mandatory nonsense meetings, Wednesday I’m on leave, Thursday working at home and Friday on campus. Not quite sure what I’m going to do about that, but I’ll work something out. For now, the sofa and another cup of tea beckons!

Last year it actually reached the point of me sneaking things out of the wheelbarrow I was using to take stuff to the car, because one of the ladies running the stall kept insisting something was really great and I should take it, when I really didn’t have space…

Or it’s more likely that I need to be committed…

Shoe, hang in there, I am sure more garlic-flavored…things…will be coming your way soon.

Pretty much my story. Being single and out of the house a lot (plus lazy), I don’t think I would be a good doggie daddy. But love giving then scritches…

Sounds like my 6 year old soccer players…

Don’t worry, I almost did collapse in the heat a couple years ago and have learned my lesson.

Sticky Buns. sometimes our bodies simply tell us ‘you need 10 hours of sleep’ and you were wise enough to listen. Enjoy the day.

Nut, you have convinced me that my decision to never have a garden was the right one.

FCM, a long trek to see something bleh that you’ve seen many times before…good decision. Now if it was the Grand Canyon or something…

boo fae, admire your dedication to the animal rescue and a pretty nice haul. And quite a nice evening; don’t know the last time I was up at 3am (probably with my hernia back in February).

And good morning all. Have taken the morning medication, got my Sunday NY Times, started a load of laundry and have the dishwasher going, all before 8am, so am now slothing for a couple hours. Will try the Sirloin steak at BJ’s and maybe one of their beers for lunch and then…we’ll see. Should I go for a full week of gym activity, or rest on Sunday? Decisions, decisions… At least the weather remains nice, 74F heading to 89F with a 1-in-6 chance of rain this afternoon. We’ll see what my level of ambition is after dinner. Meanwhile, have a good Sunday all.

Wrong pilot. @LSLGuy 's birthday was yesterday.

‘Gourmet’ Korean food seems to have taken off in the last few/several years, but back in my native land it seemed like all of the teriyaki places were owned by Koreans. The first time I had bibimbap (in the '90s) was at a teriyaki place in Orange, CA.

My voice is gruff this morning. I’ve had coffee, and it helped a little. (Still having coffee.) I took a B-complex pill because SWMBO insists I take them, and then I put a Zicam under my tongue to dissolve. I feel fine.
