(Old) Pole Dancer and Dasher and Comet and Cupid! - A MMP For The Rest Of Us

Oh, I think you are going to fit right in! Welcome and remember that there is nothing too minor for the MMP!

I do like how kind you are being about the shirts and have high hopes that your package will arrive.

I agree that I’m always more forgiving if I know what the issue is, communication is so important.

JtC I have Uggs but they are not the best for wearing outside especially to the barn. I can’t imagine Toll House changing their recipe. Maybe using white chocolate v choc chips affects the dough?

I’m watching White Christmas and singing along. I know all the words to all the songs because I’ve seen that movie probably 20 times.

I have some I bought 30 years ago. They never did fit right. My heels always lift. I was thinking about them this morning. I need to try them with socks.

Its easier to imagine that then that both of us could screw the very familiar recipe up the same way.

Lets both blame the package maker for making a mistake in the printing.

/monk rending his hair while wailing “it was celebrate!”

You need boot straps (and socks).

Uggs probably aren’t great for you either, despite being designed for OZ surfers, they don’t do well in the water.

Its going to be difficult to come up with a mumper name for Rilchiam…

Happy Moonday!

Happy Festivus!

It’s friggin cold. It was at one point today, 27 feels like 16 outside.
It was 13 degrees when I woke up this am.
My son will get off in the am, and then doesn’t go back until Thorsday.
We will have no need to go back out until then and so we shan’t.

I am freezing all the time indoors.
I know it’s me, the house is warm. My son says it’s too warm

My grievances…
the f’ing cold
my f’ing keyboard/mouse, I’ve done all the recommended maintenance and nothing has irked. I do NOT want to buy a new laptop
f’ing mice

We got our PieCaken. I asked my son if he wanted to wait until Christmas, and of course he didn’t. OMG - so good. The bottom layer is chocolate pecan pie, topped with buttercream frosting, then a layer of cherry swirl cheesecake, topped with buttercream frosting, then red velvet cake, topped with buttercream frosting and sprinkles.
I’m glad we tried it, but I probably won’t buy it again because it is way too much for just two people. I small piece goes a long way.

Dunno about Official Toll House Recipe, but here’s my chocolate chip cookie recipe:

1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg + 1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 bag semi-sweet chips (Milk is too sweet, and dark not sweet enough. Semi-sweet offsets the flavor of the dough just right.)

With a hand mixer, or by hand (just not with a stand mixer) combine sugars with melted butter. Add vanilla, egg and egg yolk. Whisk the dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture. Add semi-sweet chips. Fridge dough at least one hour, then scoop out chunks and smooth into rounds (I make them the size of golf balls, which gets me about 18 to a batch). Bake on parchment paper at 325 for 15 minutes. Leave on pans for five minutes, then move to racks to cool fully.

It complicate things because some vendors have multiple accounts so, if it’s cheaper to ship USPS they do ship to PO Boxes(or it it gets sent UPS Surepost). And don’t get me started on the people who put a frickin’ email address as the delivery address.
But welcome, and good grievence!

I will save your recipe. I used a teaspoon of vanilla bean paste. I think it needed more than the teaspoon of salt the recipe said to use. I wonder why you’re not supposed to use a stand mixer?

Maybe too much potential for splattering in the first stage of sugar + liquid butter.

Too easy to overmix the dough and make more gluten than one wants in cookies?

Yes it does and I brought the necessary gear, but I was at Brother’s house until after 9pm so not in the mood to use it although I did consume a large quantity of calories.

Welcome, Rilxhiam, hope you find our little corner of the internet pleasing and stick around awhile. I ordered a T-shirt for my brother that was supposed to be delivered yesterday…and wasn’t, so I sympasize.

As for movies, watched Carry On which is a Netflix film with some 'Die Hard 2" elements, it was watchable but not really believable.

Sari, hope you feel warmer soon, you can always read the poem “The Cremation of Sam McGee” to feel warmer…

And sorry for not responding in more depth, but it’s closing in on 11pm, I’ve been up since 6am and driver over 450 miles, so sleepy-time beckons. Take care all.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/51f with a predicted high of 13c/55f, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Fool me once, shame on you. Fucking fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me every fucking time, you’re probably a fucking weather person.” That’s the most Weather App’s said in a long time!

My gast is well and truly flabbered at that statement! And that is a very fancy teapot, I’d be too scared to use that in case I broke it

Have a safe trip, and I hope your package arrives before you have to leave!

The vet called back with his results and said everything’s fine, he still has to get his levels checked every 3 months, and now that we’ve started him on Solensia shots for his arthritis, that’s a monthly visit on top. He’s a happy little trooper though, and he’s gained a little bit more weight so he’s now just a tiny bit over 3.8kgs which is very good for his age.

Your furriners and your strange spellings…

I’m sorry to hear that a bug has ruined your plans there, I hope you feel at least well enough to see your family on Christmas Day instead.

Lily I hope you catch up on your sleep soon!

Excellent planning skills!

The changing rooms don’t have mirrors inside, nor electrical outlets but there’s a separate area with mirrors, sockets and the gym provides both hairdryers and straighteners so that’s a bonus. I do occasionally give my head a quick going over with the hairdryer if I’m going straight from the gym to the hairdressers, I kind of feel that doing otherwise would be rude and nasty!

That’s good news, but it sounds like she wants to be thorough and there may well be something else going on if you’re still bothered by it. I’m glad it’s not getting in the way too much when you want to be getting around.

Welcome! It doesn’t “work” but it does - just dive in and tell us whatever you want. The MMP has a starting point every week but we never manage to stay on track for more than five minutes!

Sari I hope you warm up soon, I always used to feel the cold until I got to menopause, now I’m always too hot!

Yesterday was a busy day, I was up early to take Shadow to the vet, then we did the grocery run. The supermarket we use is not very big, there was a queue of cars going round the one way system in the car park, mostly because there was a build-up of cars waiting to get back out onto the main road. Once inside, it wasn’t too crowded at all and I managed to get everything on my list apart from one thing (which was a “nice to have”, not a “must have”) so that wasn’t too bad. Getting out of the car park when we left was much easier than getting in!

Came home and stuffed everything into the fridge, apart from the turkey bird which is sitting in a tray in the porch. It’s not quite fridge-cold out there but quite cool enough for the bird to defrost ready for cooking tomorrow. After I’d unpacked everything, I put a load of laundry on so that everything in the laundry baskets has been done. I got a couple of hours of sofa time as well, and caught up with a couple of episodes of “Wolf Hall”.

We went out in the evening, got the train to Big City Station and popped to The Welly for a drink. It’s a pub we used to go to quite often but we rarely venture into the city for a night out any more. We’d got a table booked at The Ivy - it wasn’t bad, the food always sound more exciting than it actually is  After dinner, we headed back home on the train and then went to The Posada for a pint before heading home. I even remembered to haul the biiiiiiiig bin out to the kerb as we got home, because the binmen come early on Tuesday.

True enough, I heard the dustcart coming up the street at 7.30am! I decided that was a good time to get up and start feline tums and bums. Then I went out to haul the biiiiiiiig bin back to where it lives. Now the doors are shut, I am inside and not venturing out again today. 'im indoors is cooking tonight so I have absolutely nothing I need to do apart from drink tea, tend to the critters and their litter trays during the day, and forage for lunch (which will be something out of the fridge). Slothage awaits!

Mea culpa. I thought I was keeping track of all the Lego projects, but I missed that one. I remember the Chewbacca model. Just looked at the album - Falling Water is awesome.
As penance, here is a Lego block stop-motion video. Link.

I really liked the pumpkin, so I looked at the Christmas Lego offerings. Tempted by the Nutcracker, but decided we should do the ones we have before buying more.

Hope the sore throat was a false alarm and you’re able to meet with your family.

Watched that as well. Agree with your review. Glad you made it safely to your destination.

Yay for the good news. And if he doesn’t mind the vet visits too much, then monthly visits aren’t all that bad.

My order came in, so I need to go to the mall to collect it. Yesterday’s white mess is still there, but it’s above freezing, so we’re going to walk there. And there’s blue sky!

Happy Christmas Eve!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 39 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 62 and N.O.S. I have Verger duty at the four p.m. kiddie service over to the church house. I do not have duty for the evenin’ service. YAY! I will make the deviled aigs this mornin’ and might also make up the company smashed N.O.T. just to get it done. This should give time for the requisite RDOS inactivities. Tonight we will have our annual viewin’ of *A Tuna Christmas *.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I shall also go ahead and purtify. The donnin’ of appropriate attire can be done later.

Happy Tuesday Y’all! Happy Christmas Eve to those who observe.

It’s 24° this morning - an pretty big improvement over yesterday. And the weather guessers say we might see 60° this weekend! Just too weird… But I’ll take advantage of the mild and prep the deck for replacement, depending on who we go with. No estimates yet.

Just finished some toast and caffeination continues. We’re going to Daughter’s for breakfast, but the chances of eating before 10 are pretty low, so I needed something to hold me till then. I was working on a terrible headache, but it’s subsided. Yay.

I remembered to put some diet coke and the kids’ presents in the car last night and there’s a note on the door reminding me to take the turkey carcass that’s been using valuable freezer space since just after Thanksgiving.

We’ll do breakfast and presents, then they’ll haul the kids to see their other grandma and we’ll come home so I can devil the eggs and maybe bake cookies. I’m allowing myself a few more days of overindulging in sweets before getting back on track. The stress eating before and since MIL’s passing has added way too much poundage to my frame, but I intend to start eating smart again and haul my old self back to the treadmill and bike on a daily basis.

Tomorrow all of us but SIL will head to my brother’s place for the usual insanity. SIL has anxiety issues and my family can be a bit much. So he’ll stay home and chill with Trevor and we’ll take Daughter and the kids with us in FCD’s “monster truck” as Tobias likes to call it.

I’ll do my usual morning surfage, the shower and dress and we’ll head to our first holiday gathering.

Happy Tuesday and/or Christmas Eve! :santa: :mrs_claus:

First of all, I am so sorry that I forgot to mention this before now. I did receive a very beautiful card from @peedin the other day! Thank you so much!

I forgot that I have physical therapy scheduled for mid-morning. That’s kind of going to mess with my baking routine. Nonetheless, baking will happen at some point today. Napping as well.

Good morning, and Merry Christmas Eve!

It’s 50F and cloudy outside. Our expected high temperature is 52F, and we’ll see some little peeks of sunshine this afternoon. It’s too freakin’ warm for December…

BooFae, I’m glad all is well with Shadow.

Metal Mouse, I’m glad you made it safely to Ohio.

I want to welcome ALL the newbs, as I was remiss in not welcoming our earlier additions.

Peedin, I’m glad your doctor takes your concerns seriously.

Today is the final push for Christmas prep. My husband picked up the roast yesterday, so I don’t have to worry about that. I’ll be showering shortly and heading down the road to Safeway to pick up the spareguts, taters, and other odds and ends in preparation for prime rib soup. The soup, in my humble opinion, is the best thing about this once-a-year prime rib roast.

Last night, I busted open one of my packs of Gold Elisen lebkuchen. Those and Dominosteine with marzipan are my favorite Christmas treats.

When my husband came home from the butcher store yesterday, he also had to giant smoked leg bones for the pups, who, after some initial trepidation, thought they were fantastic. However, I saw Maisie exhibit resource guarding for the first time when Buster got too close to her bone. I promptly picked up both bones and put them away. Those particular treats will be given to them in their separate kennels.

I will finish my coffee, feed the pups, shower, and start on the various tasks I have set for myself. I wish you all a wonderful day.

Not an exceptionally busy day. Mostly I got the hold stuff to go out when the assorted schools and business open back up(12/30, 01/02, 01/03, 01/06). I got to go home at 0800, and the last Air truck was coming down the hill when I was walking up it. So now I’m off till Thursday 0dark30.

Ask your doctor if Dominosteine with marzipan is right for you. Dominosteine with marzipan has been associated with excessive limb growth, Elvis impersonation, and luxurious nasal hair. Discontinue and seek medical attention if you experience extreme flatulance…

So you might be on the Verge of a screaming meltdown by five p.m.?

#13 would be perfect for tonight!
And yay for Shadow!

Wait, we have assignments now? :open_mouth:

Side effects eh? My cough is still with me.
Today I go get some strawberries; they are good for me.
Then my free coffee from Dunkin ( I have enough points on the app for free).
