Called my NP to get lab work.
My hair has been coming out and my nails are chipping so thyroid check.
But I can’t take my biotin or vitamin D for 5 days before because it could affect the results.
Last day above freezing til Saturday.
Bible class tonight.
My condolences to the FairyChatFamily, and I liked reading about MIL’s life.
I do hope you two can get away for a couple of days. We did so after my mom passed after a long illness and it was a good thing.
An oddly non chaotic heaving today. I was on the 100 Slide and Table all day. If it wasn’t for all the rain, I’d say it was a good day.
Spot want to eat my fucking fiber pills. He’s regular enough.
And thanks for sharing that bit.

A surprise snow squall came through and dumped and inch or two on our neck of the woods. 7F with wind today, so I’m gonna say that our odds of venturing out are zero.
Ordered the fixin’s for a Christmas paella this morning. Sofrito, paquillo peppers, Bomba rice and Spanish chorizo. I’ll pick up some seafood when the day gets much closer.
I just got an email from La Jefa, informing me of my holiday bonus. It was a kilobuck last year, but only $600 this year. (We’re a non-profit, so…) Not what I was hoping for, but it’s still nice to get some extra bill money.
No stars…
what a wonderful picture. i truly shows them.
i will add to the chorus that getting away will help. y’all need to decompress and it is difficult to do that when you are surrounded by things to do.
My condolences to you FCM. I hope you both are able to get some rest, grieve, and reset.
And thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I’ve never wandered into the MMP threads for some reason until a couple of months ago, and have been slowly sucked in. So it seemed like it might finally be time to stop lurking!
But someone is going to have to explain the meaning of “52”!
If I’m not mistaken, 52 is LII in Roman numerals.
52 Ragu sounds good.
I should have known a Doper would come up with something clever like that!
Indeed it is.
Errands run, sorta. Daughter and SIL stopped over and we used SIL’s muscles and youth to move one recliner into the basement and to bring up a table. He and Daughter went thru some stuff and took a few things with them, promising to get more later. And Trevor was here too, for FCD skritches.
Then they went home and my sweetie and I went to Red Robin for lunch. Then to the boat so he could get some dimensions, then to the historical society so I could buy the book I wanted. CVS was closed for their lunch break, so I ran into Food Lion for some Diet Cokes - we were down to our last 6-pack!! The horrors!!
I had a check to deposit at the credit union, but their power was out (apparently it also burped out at our house - I had clocks to reset.) At that point, we decided to go home, and I’ll hit CVS and the CU tomorrow.
And two surprises when we got home. First was a HYUUUUGE plant on the porch from TX SIL and her son. It’s really nice, but I have no idea where I’ll put it - we don’t have that many windows that get good sun. The other surprise was in the mailbox - a card from red!! Just too cute!! It’s displayed on the table SIL brought upstairs for us.
The table, BTW was built by FIL - he did all the inlays and everything - the man was a master craftsman.
Anyway, FCD is napping. I was going to do some chores, but I think I’d rather chill and crochet. Enough time tomorrow to do chores.
gracious, that is an absolutely gorgeous table. wow! does it open to a full round or is it a half round?
the card is soooo fun! looks great.
It opens to full round. I think the two back legs swing out. I’ll open it and post more pics in a day or two.
He made so many beautiful and detailed pieces just because he wanted to. The hammered dulcimer is my favorite - I need to figure out how to tune it.
What a great feeling to be able to leave home to go on errands together.
I enjoyed reading about MIL’s life.
I totally understand about the venting. I have needed to and wanted to but I couldn’t bring myself to do it in print.
That is a beautiful table; just my style.
Yes, the chores never end, they can wait until tomorrow or the next day. Would be good to take time and just sit and relax in silence.
Got 13 Christmas cards addressed, signed then had Hubs sign them. I won’t sign his name.
So, busy day. First went to Barnes & Noble to pick up the page a day DogRatesCalendar for daughter that I ordered last week. Next to Post Office to drop off Christmas cards and several payments for bills. Then to Nephrology appointment. The Dr had a good suggestion about going to the Edema Clinic to address the swelling in Hubs legs and the weakness in his thigh muscles. When he was in the hospital last, a PT came by and gave him some exercises to do to keep his strength up and muscles from deteriorating due to the big doses of steroids that he was taking. Well stubborn man refused to do them. So now he has trouble standing up.
Lastly we went to our fav Italian restaurant, Roman Village. Hubs had calamari and a calzone. I had cannelloni; so good and enough of both our meals for tomorrow.
Now, I’m tired so I was thinking about taking a cat nap before tackling dishes, more Christmas cards, wrapping presents, taking packages to the Post Office that need to go across country, etc. Oh and I have some WFH on next FYs budget that I need to accomplish before deadline on Friday.
Forgot to say and missed the Edit window: Also made quick stop at Kroger to pick up circular and buy some bananas and Blakes Cider for Hubs.
metal mouse Cosmic Crisp Apples are on sale for 99 cents/lb with card this week.
That was a lovely tribute to the MIL that you knew before time took its toll. More hugs to you and your family.
I would love to see / hear / play that! I’m glad you liked the card.
Irked and came home in 40F-small-dog-warning wind. Truly, I thought Nelson was going to go up like a kite.
One more day until the weekend. Since it’s been 3 weeks since I was home all weekend, I really need to give the apartment more than just a once-over.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
