Old Sci-fi show half-remembered

I have a vague memory of an old science fiction show, from the early to mid-1970’s, where the protagonists were stuck on an ark moving through space, consisting of several habitats seperated by tubes. The ship was controlled by a malfunctioning computer, and the inhabitants had no idea they were on an ark, or that they were under the control of a computer, until the protagonists managed to stumble on the secret.

Can anyone fill in the blank on this with the show’s name? Help?

The serie was the Starlost

“For the world was hallow and I have touched the sky…”

Gosh, looks to me I missed this series and with great appreciation. I’ll stick to Star Trek and Doctor Who, thank you very much…

I did watch an episode of the old “Lost in Space” series, I cant figure out why I loved that show. It was horrible!

Wow, they listed Harlan Ellison as creator. He hated how it turned out so much that he had his name pulled from the credits.

Ben Bova was also involved as science advisor. He wrote a very funny novel about the experience called The Starcrossed.

Cool, Bova book rec.

Wow, thank you. I can’t believe they went back and made a “movie” based on it. I do recall being dissapointed at the age of 13 that it didn’t turn out better, because those were in the years of the Interregnum, you know, between ST and ST:TMP. Hell, we watched ANYTHING that was science fiction on TV, even 1/2 hour ST cartoon episodes…

Just to be pedantic

Is that the movie where the final scene is robots tending a garden or something and the last human died?

I remember watching it years ago, but can’t remember if it was the same one you guys mentioned.

The film Rabid Squrrel is thinking about is Silent Running with Bruce Dern
