(Old) Silly Songs In The MMP

Yay! Congrats to you, 'im indoors and the lucky puddy tats.

Puppies tend to bounce back pretty quickly after being neutered and I’m happy to see that the GR were no exceptions sari I feel for the little dog being attacked. The only time I ever came close to hurting a dog was when a bulldog who should have been on the big dog side attacked Nelson as a puppy. Scared the ever lovin’ shit outta me.

wheelie, Reese is a beautiful baby! Congrats!

Your mystery piece is beautiful JtC.

I served as the pit crew for my cohort back in my little hidey hole at irk today. I came in to nothing on my rack, but she, OtH, still had a 1700 piece backlog of phones and tablets that had been sitting for a month while she was pulled on the purge project. That means that a) a good share of them had less than the 32% charge needed to program a Samsung device and b) many had to be programmed twice or more to update to acceptable software. I told her that, not only would I sort for her like yesterday (that saved her about two hours then), but I would pre-charge anything that she pulled for processing, involving checking the charge on all of the phones and charging all of the ones needing it. When the twerp lead came around, he initially seemed dubious, but she pretty much told him it was that or he needed to get his @$$ back here and do that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of silly songs, another from my bar band days came back to me. We usually did a novelty song for most gigs and BoomBoom, our bass player did one that was already silly and double entendres as hell anyway by adding another verse to My DingALing

Took my girlfriend to the zoo
To see what we could see
But when she saw what the elephant had
She wouldn’t go home with me
Oh, my ding-a-ling…

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

That is beautiful! Well done!

As for me, soon my laundered body will go to the fully laundered bed, and see how well I like the new mattress.

I’m sure the cats will join in.

Ugh, so sick of Microsoft updating crap. New swell version of outlook. But my settings didn’t transfer over, had to dig through the glurge from my domain provider to find the proper IMAP settings. I ain’t got a clue what IMAP stands for, but it seems important.

Thanks! The designer was planning her wedding while she was designing this piece. I’m very happy she chose hearts instead of the other body part she was thinking about.

I’m glad you were able to find parts AND tools so quickly, Murphy was ignoring you for once!

I like to warm things like thick lotion in hot water. I once blew up a microwave when I was young and blazed and had the screaming munchies. The clean up alone made me really careful about what I put in microwaves. But that’s just me. Most people aren’t stoopid enough to plop a whole block of velveeta cheese in a microwave, set it for five minutes and walk away though.

Not even on your balcony? Of the apartment you paid for?

Thank you! And thanks for the feedback on the problem rectangle. I didn’t like how the R looked so changed it on the fly and then everything was off center, so I pulled that end apart (serious PITA) and did it the way the designer did but now I’m hyper-focused on it, so nothing is going to look right for a while.

You are not a wimp, walking in the snow after dark is how people get run over. I’m glad you didn’t have to wait long for the bus!

Thank you, Kathy Rees is a very talented designer. I wish the picture showed the lovely textures, that’s really the best part of her designs.

You are a very good co-worker. Willing back-up by someone who knows what is needed is so rare!

Thank you! Mom and I do this every year, we like being able to do things together even if we are in different states.

Your plans for the night sound delightful, I hope all goes as planned!

Hubs comp blew up over a couple of Microsoft updates that hung up. Just sayin’

I hope you get your settings back, so annoying.

So, I keep my needlework in bins under the bed in my room. I pulled one out to put in front of the nightstand for VBC to use as a step and she took right to it. Tonight I was pulling bins out and dealing with new project supplies so got distracted and pushed all of the bins back under the bed.

VBC came in to jump on the nightstand but saw that her step was missing and gave me such a look that she scared poor GG into whining and headbutting at hubs.

The bin is now in it’s proper place. Sigh. That’s something else that we will have to explain to our next housekeeper.

Happy Thorsday!

It was a cold and windy morning, but we had nowhere to go.

The GR are supposed to be resting and quiet. That is not how it is. They are wound up, bouncy, and full of energy. I guess I should have gotten the sedatives.

The last I heard the little guy is doing well. He got loose and ran into two other dogs. One grabbed him by the hind legs, shook him, and tossed him. He couldn’t move his hind legs, but there was feeling in his toes. He had surgery on his spine and is expected to recover 80-90% normal function.
Barky and Humpy are doodles, and the dog that attacked the little guy is a doodle. B/H mom is upset that a doodle was the attacker. I keep telling her that just because her doodles are sweet doesn’t mean all of them are. I have heard horror stories.

I’ve seen that now some people are breeding Shar Pei with poodles and that annoys the crap out of me. They are called a Shar-Poo. Ugh, leave Shar Pei alone. They are perfect as they are.

I wish I could eat peanut butter. I get cravings.
I’m thinking of trying almond butter, although sometimes when I eat almonds, my mouth will tingle a little.

Weird dreams
I dreamed the office I was working in was being moved and Swampy was in my closet packing my clothes for me. He pulled out a tiny shirt and told me I should put it on. It looked child sized, and had spaghetti straps, and I have no idea why it was in my closet.
I tried telling Swampy that I am of an age where I should not be wearing spaghetti straps, but he insisted.

Very pretty and nice work JtC

Congrats on the new kitties BooFae
For whatever reason, I thought they were already yours anyway.

A little Cutie, Wheelie

The little annoyances are piling up again.
The trash people finally picked up the recycling, but now they didn’t pick up the trash
CVS screwed up my prescription again. I hope it is ready tomorrow.
The daycare says I am out of days even though I just bought a new package in January. I found the receipt, so I’ll have to take it in next time.
I already paid my Medicare deductible this year, but my doctor sent me a bill as though I haven’t paid it. I guess it can get straightened out.

The GR are finally sleeping. They have been driving us crazy all day, so much energy.

That would be today. I spent a lot of time yelling at the void, and also, had some chitty chats with old friends.

Including my former I.T. Guy (my ex) who married his rebound from me, and is happily married with a new lil’ kid.

Except when he texts me, going “I was changing her diaper, and she shit in my hand! What do I do?”

… not text your ex who doesn’t like children?

He needs to be told to dump the baby exhaust appropriately (such as into a toilet), then wash his hands? (shakes head)

Sometimes, the smartest people …

I have never ever had a puppy, dog, or kitten who would rest after neutering or any surgery (adult cats will rest after pretty much anything). There’s just so much to do! I’ve also never had one suffer ill effects, but you always want to at least try to follow the vet’s instructions.

Mr. L has always said there’s only one breed of dog he’s afraid of, and that’s poodles. He’s only ever been bitten by a dog once, and it was a neighbor’s standard poodle. And his parents bred German shepherds!

I feel for you in the almond butter, but you know what that means. I’m reminded of the time one of my daughter’s friends said that she really liked eating bananas because of “that kind of tingly feeling your tongue gets.” Her friends had to break it to her that it was just her and she should get an allergy test.

If ever there was an appropriate time to text “Sucks to be you” instead of commiserating, that’s it.

So, years and years ago, I used to be on the board of our state’s Destination Imagination affiliate. It’s a creative problem solving organization that my kids were in throughout their school years, it’s very worthwhile, and we never had enough volunteers. It used to put me into a state of frenzy from about January through May, getting pins and t-shirts designed and ordered, buying merchandise, helping to line up a venue for the state competition, being people to help during the tournament, and fundraising. I was involved for years after my kids graduated, but I finally passed the baton to the next generation some time ago. My younger daughter kept on volunteering, and she’s been on the board for the past several years.

Yesterday, when I was putting groceries into the car, I saw a plastic bin labeled “DI Merch #1” in the trunk. I figured she was planning to take it to storage. No, it turns out that the tournament is this weekend and she picked it up from storage last weekend. She hasn’t been losing sleep or tearing her hair out; she has volunteers lined up to help with the merchandise table, the other board members are taking care of their areas, and she’s cool as a cucumber. Looks like the Millennials have it all figured out!

I’ve been wondering how he held his phone and texted…

My lab had a large lipoma removed and wasn’t tired in the least. I wanted her to lie down because she was so confused, but she was convinced the potted tree was talking to her (She sat in front of it with her head cocked.), and when someone rang the doorbell, she ran in reverse. Poor baby.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. Spot snuggled up with me while I was napping, and decided the bed was warm and cozy enough to stay. It’s 34 ferret height outside, and the high is supposed to be 53. The low Wednesday, and tomorrows forecast low is also supposed to be 53. Mother Nature, played by Sybil.

Well, dude is going through some shit.

One time when Maggie Wonderbeagle had a really bad ear infection, the Vet School had to sedate her to do the ear cleaning. When they brought her to the waiting room, I knelt down and called her. She walked towards me, walked past me, and walked into a wall. Everyone in the waiting room laughed.

Sorry TVCTPMO is going at you hard. But glad the GR are resting.

Just woke from a humorous dream all sweaty. I felt better, totally healthy for about a minute. Then my throat hurt. Is it you’re not fully aware the second you wake up? Not as sick as you thought?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 59 and rain beginnin’ in a couple of hours and lastin’ the day. We shall sloth about, as is our wont, and then around fourish I shall head over to the church house to assist in the makin’ of a fish fry. I have hush puppy, chikin grillin’, and fries duty. Oh I need to make up a batch of slaw tonight, so there will be a bit of productivity in da cave after all. Stations of The Cross will commence at five p.m. and the chowin’ of fish will commence soon thereafter. Needless to say fried catfish filets and accoutrements shall be sup.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Oh my goodness has it been crazy busy. I skimmed, but could not retain it all except to say that JtC made a beautiful quilt! With a last minute whirl of madness I got my shelves filled and finally ready for the art market to open today. Let me see if I can figure out how to add pictures…

In other news, I’m going this morning in a couple of hours to talk about volunteering at a day center where they do lots of fun things. Hopefully that will go well. And, oh, Good Morning!

Ok, nope, no idea how to add pictures. I just tried and it say it was not able to embed images.

@JaneDoe42

Your piece is beautiful! I envy your ability to do such fine work.

Alas, it was pretty much worthless. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep, so despite going back and falling asleep before 9, I was awake at midnight or so. At 2:21, I heard MIL ask Alexa what time is was (which is why I know it was 2:21) then all was quiet. But after a while, my spidey senses were tingling, and I found MIL in a heap on the floor next to her bed. She must have been in stealth mode getting up. I woke FCD and he got her to the toilet, then back to bed.

I went back to bed, too, but I was so angry, I couldn’t sleep. I lay there listening to the monitor - I’d hear an occasional cough but that was all. I am absolutely furious that she won’t ask for help. I don’t know what to do - she refuses to accept that she can’t go to the toilet alone any longer. I’m ready to put her in Depends and lock the door at night. And I’m so tired… Unlike FCD, I can’t just fall asleep. And I dare not take melatonin, since MIL refuses to call for help.

And, no, she’ll never agree to a facility, nor can she afford one. And even if she could, the waiting lists around here are obscenely long. OK. I’m done. End of rant.

As if swampy could give bad fashion advice!!

Adding t the chorus - JtC - beautiful work! How long did it take you?

Lessee - it’s laundry day and clean the basement fireplace day - convenient since the laundry room is in the basement. So is the futon. And it’s dark down there - I shall attempt a nap. FCD is taking his mom to the cardiologist first thing, then he has to go to the dentist. One of the home healthcare folks is coming this afternoon, I think. I’ve lost track. The biggie is the laundry.

I’ll strip and remake MIL’s bed - I can’t find my other queen size sheets, so while they’re at the cardiologist, I’ll have to launder her sheets. I should probably change our sheets also, but I have spares, so they don’t have to be laundered right away. I’ve got a meatloaf thawed for supper. Beyond that, I’ll fake it.

And so it begins. Happy Firday.

Maybe? Yes!

Mornin’ and happy Friday!

It’s 36 degrees Fahrenheit and chunky rain is falling outside. We’re supposed to have a rain/snow mix or snow showers throughout the morning that transition to rain showers and a high temperature of 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The rain/snow showers will return around 7:00 p.m. and eventually turn to snow.

JtC, beautiful work!

boofae, congrats on the foster failure! I’m not sure I could ever foster because I’d want to keep all the dogs, and that’s just insane!

shoe, I’m sorry you had such a crappy shift, but I am glad you had some time off yesterday. Why on earth would the ex call you about crap in his hands. Maybe he was wishing in hand…

I am so glad it’s Friday. It’s been a hell of a week. I had another 12-hour day yesterday and expect today to be the same. The work annoyances continue, but we all have 'em, don’t we? I keep saying, “Lead by example,” and move on.

nellie, I’m glad you took the bus! I don’t want you falling in the slippery stuff or getting hit by someone in the dark. We’ll be down your way tomorrow, visiting my son. He wants us to bring the dogs, but I think he’s nuts. He’s got a brand new, light-colored sectional. Additionally, he wants to take us on a trail down to the beach so that the dogs will get even dirtier! I’m resigned to bringing a large kennel, waterproof blankets, and towels. Maybe even the pen parts so we can keep them restrained to the non-carpeted part of the apartment while they dry off. All the same, it’ll be nice to have an outing and to hang out with my son.

FCM, I don’t know what to say. Painful and challenging as it is, it may be time to be firmer and truthful about MiL and explain that her actions are only causing her more harm and more worry for you and FCD. So, she is, in fact, more of a bother. If you don’t have a calm conversation now, there will be a blowup because you’re trying to contain all that anger, which will eventually bubble over. YMMV. I could be completely off-base here, and I’ll shut up now.

Well, that’s all for now, folks. I need to try and get laundry going today while I’m working so I have extra blankets and what-not to bring to my son’s place.

I suspect it’s that she partly forgets when we talk to her about this and partly that she’s stubborn and has always been stubborn. So I’m using the MMP as my pressure relief valve and I’m going to let FCD deal with his mother - he’s better in conflicts than I am.

And, frankly, it’s hard to be firm with her when I see how frail she’s become. She’s lost another .8 pounds since yesterday. Every day, she weighs less - she’s literally wasting away. FCD feels so helpless, but honestly, I don’t think there’s anything anyone can do. She talks about getting stronger, but she won’t eat much and she sleeps most of the time. She’s dying - that’s all there is…

I hope I remember all this when I’m old and decrepit and relying on my daughter.

Morning all. Up about 5:15am, apparently my body only needs 7 hours sleep these days, because I went to bed early (10:15p) last night. It’s raining and according to the Weather Wizards will be raining pretty much all day, so the shopping trip(s) I planned may be delayed.
Nothing much else on the list, so sloth will be likely. Have eaten an apple to break my fast, will do more in a bit.

FCM, I got nothing, except hugs {{{{ }}}}. Take care.

VanGo, glad the viewer works, hope you get some sales from them.

shoe, hope the drama at work was fairly muted.

swampy, enjoy the grilling and frying workday.

Feel better soon, Coppertone. Here’s hoping training goes well.

JtC, nice work. And had to grin that VBC’s glare at you can scare poor old GG.

I already do (but sans pool, have to drive 3 miles for that). Enjoy the cruising.

nellie, taking the bus is not wimping out; it was a wise and thoughtful decision (sez I).

red, you are a good coworker, and the twerp can…well, you can fill it in better than I.

Sari, glad the GR’s are doing well and that the little pup is doing better. And crossing Poodles with Shar-Peis…something things just ain’t right. I can’t imagine what that cross would look like. (ETA: Just put Shar-Poo into Google pics and…

Sticky Buns, that’s some nice stuff there. Bet it sells fast.

Taters, enjoy the time with your son and away from the workplace; you’ve earned it.

Think I’m caught up, will go take a look at the weather and then maybe make the shopping runs so they are done and I have time to dry out. Take care and have a good Firday.
