(Old) Spot the Lunatic - A Cat MMP

Just in from one of DH’s roaming expeditions. He was pursuing bad weather to find out how well the Jeep can handle it. We now know that heavy rain and wind aren’t a problem for the vehicle, just the driver :). Could have done without the ankle-deep snow in one spot, but the situation was manageable.

We do have a minor issue with the front passenger door, when I was noticing a lot more wind noise than usual and some jitter from the door when I stuck a finger into the weather-stripping to try to determine if we had unusual amounts of air coming in from the door frame. DH currently thinks the latch is getting a little loose, and of course the charming engineers at Jeep used a very weird screw for this.

Buddy had better let me get a decent night’s sleep tonight. Last night, we had multiple middle-of-the-night rounds of howling.

I don’t see why, unless you’re giving your eyebrows a trim …

Part your mane in the middle and bring each half around over your shoulders. Trim kinda at the level of your jawline. Won’t be perfect looking, but cuts down on your maintenance.

I’ve done it with glasses on. The frames don’t get in the way at all.

Not every franchise location may have the exact same items, prices, etc.

Just pick your location and get on with it. You don’t hafta give 'em your money.
Hell, you don’t even have to put anything into your cart. Once you’ve perused the offerings to your satisfaction, just close out the window.

Think of the pseudo-ordering as one or two extra steps to just see the damn menu.

I will have you know, sir, I have never lost any of my drugs.
A good chunk of time, perhaps … and maybe like an earring or something, sure.

Username checks out.

Oh, that is something else right there.

If nobody was seriously hurt (besides a bruised ego) then it’s “point & laugh” time.

For someone with disabilities (and therefore maybe unable to cook anything more elaborate than mac’n’chz, and most likely on a very fixed income) those boxes must bring such joy & relief.

I … wut?

And that’s pesto butter, too?!? That’s, like, the good stuff, man!

What a good neighbor.

No!! That’s part of the charm.

As soon as I read “too sweet” I though, “I bet some coffee will offset that.”

Heh.

Long Night wasn’t too bad at all. I’m sure that had nothing to do with my brand-new vape cartridge.

It also helped that we were oddly quiet (for a Friday … it’s not like we were dead or anything, but having only 2 or 3 orders at once during what should be weekend dinner rush is weird) so I guess our town’s fine residents are saving their pennies for Black Friday?

So things were chill.

Time to decide on what to do in the kitchen as far as feeding my face. Possibly put a couple of frozen N.O.T. skins in the oven, as I do have fresh sour cream & green onions … or possibly slurp chicken ramen, as it is a chilly night.
I have eggs.
I also have a coupla Stouffer frozen dinners, if I really run out of ambition & just wanna poke a button.
But I’m feeling, well, less run-down than usual after Long Night, so maybe standing in front of a skillet for a couple of minutes wouldn’t be too bad.
Oh! I have fixin’s for pigs in blankets (Lil Smokies, and puff pastry) too!

Decisions … oooh, a half-killed joint! That’ll help me decide!

(Joint: “Eat ALL the things.”)

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 37 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 65 and N.O.S. No biggie plans for the day. My DAWGS play UMass at 12:45 p.m. I shall watch. Sup will be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit just cause.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/51f with a predicted high of 13c/55f, and rain showers. Weather app is unimpressed and says “Fuck this rainy shit, I’m out!” OK, I’ve been out too, it’s not very nice out there but I’m back in again now and I have a cup of tea so all’s well with my world.

Excellent news, I hope it has helped brighten your day too

I am sorry, that is definitely going to be a tough time all round.

What a lovely community gesture. When mum was alive, she used to get a hamper from the local Rotary Club, then she arranged for some of the other residents at the flats to get them too. There was always something in there that she didn’t want so they ended up getting together to swap out all the things they didn’t want but someone else did. Except fish. If there was a tin of tuna or sardines, she kept that for me to give to the cats on xmas day.

Yesterday turned out to be the usual travel nightmare on the way home, so I was late getting back and wanted to do nothing more than flop on the sofa with a cuppa. That’s exactly what I did, after I’d cleaned up the stuff I brought home from campus (tea mug, travel mug, food tubs etc), fed the cats, cleaned the litter trays, and unpacked my laptop and notebooks. I’m not back on campus until 5th December now. Woohoo!

'im indoors made pulled pork in the slow cooker so we had tacos for dinner and then watched a film. I was up early to tend to the mogs this morning, then had some oatmeal and a cup of tea before heading out to the gym. I burned through about 260 cals in a half-hour spin class and then did another 150 on the cross-trainer between classes, and probably another 300 in a kettlebells session. Not bad for a Saturday morning.

I’m back home, got some dye on my hair so I have another 15 minutes before that needs rinsing off, then I can get some lunch. Got stuff to do at home this afternoon, then I’m making something for dinner that will involve chicken and chorizo, then we are off out to Cannock to see a couple of bands. I’ll be on soft drinks as I’m driving and we should be back home before midnight.

Tomorrow I need to drop off the collection buckets and cash to the lady who runs Little Paws, and I also have a bag of stuff for the tombola that she will need before their next event at the beginning of December. Then I need to plan what I have to do before we leave for Scotland on Wednesday morning!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today, last Saturday off before Peak. I shall clean, sloth, and watch some college handegg(and some YouTubin’, too).

Yeah, if Jeep fun didn’t go to 11, they probably wouldn’t be worth owning(I do miss that Grand Cherokee).

Good morning.

It’s 43F and mostly cloudy at the moment, and it’s still damp outside. The day will remain mostly cloudy, and the expected high temperature is 52F.

VanGo, I’m so pleased the interview went well. I hope everything works out.

Yoga and running tights/pants are more comfortable for working out, especially if they have a tie-up waistband so they don’t slip down—no thigh chafing, etc.

I’m finishing up my coffee and heading upstairs to shower. I never reached the store yesterday, so I must get there this morning to buy a turkey. I wonder why? I’m not sure my stove can be repaired by then. I have a repairman coming out between 8:00 and 12:00 on Monday, but that’s just a diagnostic. It would be nice if they could carry the parts so the stuff could be repaired on the same day.

JtC, it sounds like you have a community that takes care of its own, and that’s nice!

My husband mentioned taking the dogs to the park today for walkies. It would be good for the pups, but I’m not sure I want to because I want to run the steam cleaner up in my WFH and on the stairs.

I read an interesting article about the Jeep brand yesterday. The article claimed that since Stellantis took over, people have been priced out of purchasing Jeeps. Jeeps used to be the working man’s vehicle, but Stellantis adopted a luxury vehicle mindset and raised prices accordingly. They are definitely overpriced. My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland is still going strong, but fortunately, I don’t have a lot of miles on it. Mine has the 5.6 liter 8-cylinder HEMI, so it has some oomph.

Alrighty, I need to finish my coffee and get my tail in gear.

Hey - me too! Daughter said the kids aren’t big on turkey and I know SIL will tolerate it if he has to, so I suggested pulled poke. Even tho I used the little slow cooker, I got a 1# bag, and two 10 oz bags of poke in sauce. But I guess I’ll need to get some little rolls in case they want sliders.

Just finished ingesting breakfast. Um, since oatmeal is a breakfast food, by extension, so are oatmeal cookies, right? Yeah, I had some after my bagel. I’m an adult - I can eat what I want for breakfast, so no comments! :stuck_out_tongue:

FCD is heading across the bay again to discuss what he wants done with the boat (once his mom dies and we get his inheritance - what a vulturous way to be…) I have instructions that if anything happens, I’m to call Hospice first. I foresee a day of me crocheting across the room from a sleeping old lady. Which is probably what I’d have done even if he’d stayed home.

I can’t believe how fast Labcorp works! My blood was drawn before 8 yesterday morning, and I got and email just after 8 this morning with the results! My bad cholesterol is up (105, and they want it under 100) but all the other numbers were good. I’m sure it’s largely due to my recent stress eating. Yeah, I know, but that’s the way it is. I’m guessing when I see the doc next Firday, she’ll have me go back to cholesterol meds every day instead of every other day. We’ll see.

And so my day begins. Lunch with my mom and sister(s) tomorrow, leaf suckage Moanday. Mostly, tho, not much going on.

Happy Saturday!

Morning all. Up and breaking fast while I type this, another common Fall day (42F now heading to 57f with lots of sunshine according to the Weather Wizards). Nothing much planned for the day, may do a little shopping for a good padded medium-weight jacket, mine has a broken zipper and is beginning to show it’s age and I need something between the lightweight jacket with no linings and my winter coats. So a trip to Wal-Mart may be in my near future (can also drop off the plastic bags in their recycle place, so that will de-clutter the kitchen a bit). Otherwise it’ll be a ‘we’ll see’ sort of day.

Nettie, that man does love to roam. Never owned a Jeep, been Suburban Man most of my life and it never seemed to fit my needs (been a Mid-Sized SUV driver since 2003). But everyone has their own style for life, and if that is yours, go for it!

Shoe, hope you ate well.

boo fae, a good workout. Enjoy the bands.

Taters, hope the repair guy can find something minor and give you your oven back in operating condition fast.

FCM, yeah, they do move fast on lab results these days, usually have mine within 2 days.

And need to organize my Pepsi reserves and put the longest shelf-life items on the bottom (I irritate myself when I have to toss something when it’s past it’s “use-by” date). Take care all.

Well… I’m awake.

I wonder what it would be like to sleet until 7 o’clock on a Saturday morning?

Sleeting til 7 is easy. It’s the freezing rain that keeps me awake.

I confess. I watched a Hallmark Christmas movie and didn’t run screaming. I even got misty eyed at one point. Heck, who wouldn’t get a lump in the throat with a foster kid showing up on Christmas Eve? I was a captive audience though. I was getting a mani pedi and it was on the big screen.

Cold and wet. Dreary.

Sadie made her mark last night by knocking a small ceramic plant pot off of a shelf. It shattered, of course, so I had a cleanup this morning. Luckily it was a cheap item and not one of our blown glass art pieces, so she’s forgiven.

Off to a German-style Christmas market this morning. They’re calling it a “christkind” market, but as I recall from my time in Germany, it’s actually “christkindlesmarkt” or some such. I could be mistaken on that. Anyway, bratwurst for lunch, I’m guessing. I’m hoping to enforce our “no buying of stuff” agreement, but may lose out. At least it’s indoors, as we’re having 30s weather today.

Every 50 I spend at Giant Eagle I get 1 dollar off any future purchases. Many use their points for gas, but having no car…
I had 6 dollars worth saved up and wanted to buy Variety Puzzle book.
I used to get them all the time when I could afford to.
One lasts only 4 days, but its so enjoyable.
Then I realized I have been out of Biotin for 2 months and my hair started shedding again.
I decided that was more worthwhile so got a bottle ( and another, buy one get one) so my hair can get thick again.
Its past my bra line.
I also realized not using the blowdryer makes it just as nice as using it.
Today is likely just a walk to the library.

This is not his historical personality. He claims the Jeep itself demands trips.

Might want to investigate ways to attach said art pieces to their shelves for kitty-proofing.

Sounds like she’s starting to assert ownership of the place, including critiquing the decor.

flyboy speaks very well of wifey RN that she has grown her business so much. Obviously great skills and ‘bed side manner’.

Where have I heard of that city before??? Was it possibly Hogan’s Heroes?

Well, when we got to the museum parking lot, we saw about 8 school busses. When we walked into the entry towards the theater, there was a line of about 50-60 2nd-4th graders jumping around and making a lot of noise. We decided to skip the movie and try again next Wednesday when hopefully there won’t be any school field trips.

So, we decided to walk the perimeter of the museum to get a little exercise. Along one end, there are a lot of train sets running, currently decorated for the Christmas season. One of the volunteers was a woman whose eldest child is a year younger than our daughter so I remembered her from when we volunteered at school for various events like hot lunch, etc. We had a nice chat. Shortly after, I noticed that I didn’t have my winter S cap (Spartan). So I walked back to the security guard and asked where Lost & Found was. He said at the Welcome Center and as I took a step to go there, I mentioned that I had dropped my cap. He asked, “was it a green Michigan State one?” Why yes. Reply: it’s over on that table. Yay! Didn’t permanently lose it and didn’t have to go far to retrieve it.

After a circle of the museum, we had lunch at the Diner which is an old converted train dining car in the museum; although we sat on the patio. I had a chicken salad sandwich w/ a side of coleslaw and Hubs had a ham & cheese w/ chips and ice tea. After I finished my sandwich, I decided to have their seasonal milkshake which was a gingerbread shake.

Picked up the T-card for my brother and went home to finish the grocery list then off to mail card and Kroger. Since Hubs went along and picked out stuff I wouldn’t have purchased, we racked up 460 gas points. Was exhausted after putting away all the groceries. Hubs made dinner: he breaded & pecan encrusted fish, accompanied by pasta and asparagus. I don’t care for fish but this wasn’t bad, it was sort of good.

Lastly, watched the Spartans perform wonderfully in the first half 24-3, but offense was NOT good in 2nd half. Thank goodness the defense came to play. Spartans beat the Boilermakers 27-17. So, if they can beat Rutgers next weekend, they’ll be bowl eligible. Not holding my breath.

Would you please give me a shout when someone starts
the thread this year so I don’t miss out like last year?
Had a little moonshine when I went to the Southern Ruck about a dozen or so years ago. Pretty darn good.

Watched Grand Prix - Cup of China figure skating this morning. American Amber Glenn won the women’s competition; she did so by virtue of having perfected her triple axle this year and consistently skating cleanly. She also won the Grand Prix event that was held in France several weeks ago. Congrats Amber! Also watched the ice dancers perform their free dances. The Italians won and well deserved, Canadians second, Americans Anthony Ponomarenko & Christina Carriera third. Americans Michael Parsons & Caroline Green were sixth.

Going to go to the vigil mass this evening then stop by my BF’s house to pick up some eggs as she lives just a few blocks from the church.

Enjoy your Saturday!

The good stuff is held in place with museum putty. The was on a shelf next to the window sill that she likes to prowl on. She probably either tried to turn around at that spot, or maybe jumped off of it, which sent the pot tottering.

The Christmas market was small, but pretty good. Authentic brats (I had currywurst) and spaetzle. Also real-deal Polish pastries. Bought a few pastries to take home and the wife bought a small cat ornament. Not bad, restraint-wise.

I remember lotsa things. Sometimes badly.

Meant to say: The Musicians of Bremen.

It just started. I’m hustling back to work, but I can find the link tonight if you can’t.
Be aware, there’s a separate “are we gonna have a Secret Santa this year?” thread. Look for the one with the email instructions.

Gotta run - gawds, I still have pillow lines on my face.

Here yah both go! Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas :christmas_tree::mx_claus:t3::christmas_tree:
