(Old) The MMP is the place to be!

Ok, I really got nothing other than my ability to rhyme. Jump on in!

Swampy, it was called something like a Jalapeño Popper Meatloaf. It had a basic mix of ground beef, onions, paprika, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Then there was a filling of jalapenos, bacon bits, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese. After baking it was served with a sauce made from mostly ranch dressing with a little bit of sour cream thrown in. MusicMan said it was great - I’ll have to take his word for it as I don’t generally eat onions or jalapeños.

First. Nothing to say though;

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 43 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 58 and rainy off and on all day. The good news is the evil white stuff is gone. The even better news is that it’s a good day to stay inside and dry. Perfect RDOS nappage and day drinkin’ weather! Sup will be country fried steak with onion gravy, smashed N.O.T., squishes, field peas, butter beans and okra, and cornbread. The need for some down home food is strong today.

Sticky_Buns that sounds yum! I shall have to make an experimental beastloaf soon.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

I actually forgot it was new mump day.
Up and off to train.

I think my internal clock is adjusting to retirement at last. I’ve been staying up later and sleeping in longer. Mostly.

My big plan for today is a convenience center run. We’ve got 3 bags of recycling and 2 bags of garbage and it’s been at least 3 weeks. The center won’t open til 9:30, giving me tons of time to shower and dress and gather all the household detritus. I also need to remember to take MIL’s ancient Kindle and drop it in the electronics recycling bin. And I should grab the basement trash also.

Beyond that, no real plans. FCD intends to continue working on the fuel system - the tank designs are done and now he needs to figure out the hoses and filters and such.

I do need to plan for keeping the grands overnight on Firday. SIL works and Daughter is going to a movie night with my youngest sister and my niece. They do this every once in a while just because. I’ll have Roxy during the day since she doesn’t have school and we’ll pick up Tobias around 4. If I can decide what to make for supper, I can have Roxy help me - she loves helping in the kitchen. Usually when they’re here we do some kind of pasta dish, but I’d like to do something else. So I shall continue to think on it.

The rest of today shall proceed as things do. As life does…

Happy Moanday!!

Morning all. Slept reasonably well and am waiting the designated 45 minutes since taking my thyroid pill to break fast. Have a couple things to do today, primary is go tot he Credit Union and get a check and then go to the Edward Jones guy and give him said check for investment. A little shopping, Jersey Mike’s for lunch and that should be it for the day. 40F going to 48F later, and up into the 50’s tomorrow.

From last week:

Yeah, had a hernia surgery on Friday the 17th, released on the 18th and been recuperating since then.

And onward into the new week. Take care all.

Here’s a link to the recipe. Let’s see if I can figure out how to do this. https://pin.it/2pU7Jza0z

ETA: Mine didn’t look that fancy. If you follow the instructions, there’s no mention of jalapeños on the top. Just sayin’.

Just wanted to say how pretty those afghans are. I do a lot of scrap work, to have things to give away. At least half of the yarn comes from the needlework ladies at church.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 8c/46f with no predicted change, and rain showers. Weather app says “Today is not your fucking day. Tomorrow doesn’t look fucking good either.” It’s not that bad outside, I went out earlier to take 'im indoors to the station, and I nipped out at lunchtime to do the grocery shopping.

Back to irk now, apparently my module choice pages won’t write themselves…

Windy here with gusts over 40mph. My plan is chiro, gym, Dunkin’ to stock up on coffee (I buy their ground coffee and make at home). Then home and clean litter boxes. I know you are all jealous.

Happy Moonday!

It’s 31, feels like 26, degrees outside. The sun is shining, the snow is melting, and today’s high should be 44.

I agree Swampy, I do not want to be the worst yard in the neighborhood, not that I live in a neighborhood. I don’t want to put in the work to be the best.

No idea how much I will get done today. There is a lot to do since I was out a good bit of yesterday. The pups are tired which is always a good thing.
I have lots of little things to do, I need to make a list.

Well, as usual, I’m awake at stoopit o’clock (it’s not even 10 am!) on my day off.

This time, I have a new, fresh, novel reason for awakening so early … one of the shelves in the bookshelf in my living room spontaneously failed.

Thanks, Ikea!

And I went to bed last night feeling all proud of how much clutter I’d picked up/put away yesterday. My living room looked less tornado-struck!

Now there are books and tubs of cross-stitch stuff strewn all about, and the modem didn’t fall to its doom only because it’s being held on what’s left of the shelf hardware by its own power cord. Looks like the damn thing is being lynched.

Went to bed absolutely content with life. I had taken a nice shower after completely changing the sheets’n’blankets, was wearing a pair of brand-new socks … drifted off feeling like, “Yeah, life. I may not always be the adultiest adult in the room, but I’m on top of shit now!”

… and my last thought was, “Wonder how long that’ll last?”

amazon does have a device buy back thing. you may be able to send back the kindle for credit…

phila has survived the celebration.

purplehorseshoe, what a thing to which to wake. i hope clean up goes easy.

Finally able to turn the heat down, as temps are on the rise (however temporary- hah! get it? TEMPorary!).

Fried egg sandwiches for breakfast, and now off to exercise. Later, m’peeps.

Are you sure there wasn’t a :black_cat: involved in that shelf failure? They don’t obey the laws of physics yanno?

Trash and recycling has been gathered and loaded into my car. I’m about to take it to the center, then head to WalMart for a few things. Then home. Oh, and I emptied the dishwasher - go me! And updated the spreadsheet tracking what we’re spending on the boat. So there’s been some accomplishing.

It’s so old, I doubt they’d be interested, but I’ll look. OK, off I go!

My thought exactly. Dang shoe, that’s no fun especially considering how small your bedroom is.

I would absolutely blame him, except he was snuggled by my legs when the multi-crash chaos happened.

If that hadn’t woken me, him growling & scrambling over me definitely did the trick.

Good morning all. Nice to have a start to the mmp when I’m not a horrendous number of posts behind. Although I wasn’t on the computer at all over the weekend so I have 2 days worth of posts on the Alexa mmp to read, I believe that’s 132 posts so it’ll be awhile before I can finish reading that thread.

Our daughter came over yesterday. She didn’t bring Bella because she came straight from church. We made chocolate chip pecan cookies. Then we watched Conclave (it’s on peacock). Then she & I worked together making dinner: pork chops, mashed potatoes with plenty of butter, applesauce (used some ready made sauce and cut up half a macintosh apple into it and sprinkled in cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger), corn on the cob. She left shortly after dinner then I watched the men’s figure skating championship. Ilia Malinin is OUT-freaking-standing.

Nothing much on the schedule today other than the usual: washing dishes, swiffering the bedroom, stripping linens and putting clean ones back on. Then probably being a RDOS for a lot of the day. Tonight starts a new Bachelor series, any other Bachelor fans out there? Hubs will go visit the vampires for a blood draw today.

Yikes 6 posts were posted since I was caught up and started typing this reply. Guess I’ll go back and re-catch up.

So they started an hour early. Which they decided to do on Saturday, when I was off. But I clawed out of the mess.. I stopped and got bread and milk on the way home. Such was my Moanday.

Sounds tasty. I’d add some chorizo.

“Yøü’re welkömé!” - Sven from Ikea

With buttons? That’s what I have, and it works fine.
