Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated and had a good first Sunday brunch. There was stuff other than chili. I had some verde chikin chili that was tasty. It had black eyed peas in it, of all things! OYKW tasted and liked, so may need to experiment with that as this is a chili we could eat by itself. We started out in the memorial garden and processed into a darkened church carryin’ candles. It was cool! After all were seated the lights came up and we churched. Nobody set themselves on fire so it was a win.
It’s snowing, and there is very loud thunder. Thundersnow!
That’s a good one.
From someone who set themself on fire a couple years ago by walking into a candle that is indeed a win.
The almond-flour raviolis were good, but she only made a few of them because it didn’t roll out very well. She didn’t use tapioca starch because we don’t have any. (I would have bought some.) She used powdered eggs that were in the cupboard. I eat a lot of eggs, and I think she was concerned at the price of $7.49/dozen. Not using real eggs may have been a factor too.
I think I’ll make dumplings out of the rest of the almond-flour dough and boil them, and eat them with marinara and canned parmesan. I went to the supermarket and bought some manicotti, which she has stuffed and will make for herself.
People are driving too slow in the snow.
This made me smile as we joke that it isn’t pascha until someone sets their hair on fire. Incense, beeswax, and singed hair are the smells of the paschal service.
Good evening all. Dinner was good, did obtain a 1/2 gallon of skim milk with a 12 Feb use-by date, but no tapioca this trip. Did do some June trip planning and general internet browsing and it was 3:30pm before I went to the gym, which closes at 6pm on Sunday, so was a relatively short visit. Home now and fed, and will work on perfecting my slothing skills.
Coppertone, Ouch! Hope the back is feeling better.
Oopsie, I did that several years ago, was thinking about doing it again, but I think your list is outstanding. Much thanks for it.
wet one, hope you can get off the disabled list soon; my appoitment is 2sDay morning and hopefully the sturgeon will tell me I’m doing fine.
rocky, was it just one aircraft, or have there been others? If just the one he may have been vectored that way depending on his routing…just a WAG on my part.
shoe, simply caring about him can help…a lot, IMHO. The demons are always there; we just have to choose to deal with them-and just read BBBoo’s advicew, which is so much better than mine. Sounds like the whole crew is suffering from the short days and long nights; Spring can’t come fast enough.
And that’s all the ambition I have tonight. Take care all and if I don’tget back tonight, I’ll catch all y’all on the next MMP.
The back is sore, obviously it will take time. I am 5’10" and you never think to bend your knees to have a shorter fall. It was unexpected.
And no one should take more than the recommended dosage.
I put a bag of frozen perogies in a towel and laid on that. It helped a little.
Smoke alarm went off.
Some guy cooking too enthusiastically.
Edited to add- thankfully I was wearing 2 coats or might’ve hurt my spine.
Howdy Y’all! A Sunday evenin’ check in just cause. Had Netflix, chill and popcorn. All is good.
CupCakes when I am Verger I count it as a win if I don’t trip or set anything on fire.
Elle we must here the candle story in great detail!
Rocky I tell kids that want to be Acolytes that it’s a great way to serve their church community, plus they get to play with fire.
Coppertone hope your back feels better soonest.

Black ice. Went down.
I cleaned. I laundered. I took the trash and recycling to the Big Bins. Spot crused my ribs trying to nap on top of me. Having a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, poke loin, N.O.T., and sauteed green beans.
Ouch. Hope everything isn’t too sore.

Frequently referenced in posts about meals as NOT (not our taters).
So people don’t mistake us for cannibals. Because that eats at me.

You misspelled “Ooooooooooklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain,” which I believe is the state’s full official name.
NASA sends a mission to land on Saturn, and they encounter a race called the Furries. They take the astronauts to thier leader, who has a giant hypodermic needle sticking out of his head. The team leader asks, “Are you the leader?” The leader replies, “That’s me, the Furry with the syringe on top.”

Yep, that’s me. I read some but just haven’t felt like posting much lately.
As long as they didn’t lock you up for juggling cleavers on Carson Street, that works.

a newt.
At least till it gets better.

they get to play with fire.
One of the lesser reasons I was never steered toward being an Altar Boy.
I am sore. But I was grateful right away that it wasn’t one of the more elderly or infirm members that fell.
Just the one. But it was so odd and close. Planes are usually much higher in our area.
The big draw for our alter servers is incense. Orthodox are crazy about incense. Total fog banks.

the neighbor lady came out to greet us and collect him COMPLETELY NEKKID. I gave her the care instructions while keeping my eyes fixed directly on the cat.
I would have been ever so tempted to fling that already pissed off murder kitten at that nekkidness claws first. But then I’ve gotten cranky in my night nurse persona and it doesn’t seem to be wearing off.
Bet that would be the last time she accepted her cat back from the vet nekkid. I do hope you get to relay this story to the vet~imagine how relieved they’ll be that they didn’t have to deliver the kitty.
I typed this days ago and forgot to push send, then went off to four days to have cataract surgery. Just found it. My grievously neglected cat is stomping on my lap and remarking all my visible skin with her scent.
[I had a trusted neighbor keeping an eye on the house and checking in on her once a day but to her that is not the same as having her devoted staff 24 hours a day. I might be forgiven in a few days. Might]

I recommend bribery. Lots of treats and nip, if she likes nip. Allie does, Buddy doesn’t care.

Thank you. I didn’t realize that it had been posted. I had cataract surgery last week (one eye is legally blind and when the only good one is bandaged or just operated on I am barely sighted) and literally could not see well enough to see that it had posted. Mea culpa, I apologize-it has been a scary 5 days. The impact of the surgery found me unprepared.
