(Old) Trying To Reason with Hurricane Season - A Hockey MMP

I am sad for her, but know that it is to be expected. At least she has you and the fuzzbutts to comfort her. (Is she suffering under lifting restrictions so she can’t pick the babies up? That would suck.)

I always knew you were a very smart woman!

We used to fly solo on a regular basis, but then he started falling and getting confused and I was worried about leaving him home alone. Then he got his stent and his brain was getting all the oxygen it needed to work properly but we got out of the habit. I hadn’t realized how much I needed a day to do what I wanted without negotiating with someone else.

He did surprise me today. I said I wanted to take his car on Wednesday so I could take my scooter to the big art museum in Huntington. I also told him that he was of course welcome to come with me but he’s never in my life ever said “Lets go to an art museum/display”. He said he didn’t need to suggest it because he knew I would take to weird places a couple of times a year and didn’t need to.

So he will be going with me on Wednesday which rules out lunch at Long John Silvers because he doesn’t like seafood.

Fazolli’s left AZ decades ago and Long John became far and few between. I was really excited to see both of them in Huntington and hope that LJS is still good stoner fud as well.

Back when I was learning Japanese, I thought that both were really important. I needed to hear the words while I was reading them. Sadly, that didn’t help my pronunciation at all because I couldn’t see how the actors lips and tongues moved. But, it did help some.

We didn’t have acorns, but knew how to hold tumbleweeds by their base before smacking our friends with them.

Yeah, I grew up in the sticks too

Well, that makes a whole lot of sense. Are they televised, it sounds like fun to watch. I also think that Nelson would have been a contender!

Dang about the lack of empanadas, when your mouth is set for one thing, its always a little disappointing to have to change plans unexpectedly.

She loves you! She really really loves you!

So do we!

Happy birthday, I hope you had a cupcake for breakfast too!

I miss my big lavender bush. It looked terrible ugly in the winter but then bloomed and the bees were constant. I should look into getting another one here…puts on list of plants to look at.

I’d like her to be gone and I’ve never even stepped foot in your country. Constant annoyances like her just wear on one and you have much better things to do with your time than worry about her chocolate intake.

Like the great M&M mystery…any more clues as to the culprits? (Did the M&Ms even make it into the office or get forgotten in a car trunk?)

Could it maybe be a nice, inexpensive wiring problem?

I am still feeling bloated, but it was worth it. I probably won’t do this again for many years so that’s OK.

And it is always good to have another set of eyes check your stuff. Safety is important enough to not get in a huff when told you are doing something incorrectly.

Oh NO! What a horrible start to the day, LOL!

I sure do not miss that waste of time, and am sorry that things haven’t gotten better since I retired.

While I also noticed and approved (after noticing the happy and content look) I think I remember her telling us about searing her arm hairs off with accidental fire.

Oh gosh, its time to go and watch the fireflies. Its not that you folks aren’t more important than watching bug sex…

Yeah - my kamodo pot took care of the hair on my right arm. I evened it out with a bit of Veet on my left arm.

I’m currently compiling “journal entries,” and I came across this from last week:

I don’t recall whether I’ve mentioned this, but there are a surprising number of death metal enthusiasts in the Discord. There are also nerds. Gurl nerds! I think I’m finding a place.

Yesterday was… affirming. I feel good and encouraged right now. Mrs Magill and I spoke briefly about places that would be safer for me than Tennessee. Right now that’s about forty-nine other states.

I do understand. I read here and look for the postcard/secret santa stuff and that is it. I don’t really have time for that anyhow, I’m really limiting my online time as it is. There is too much AI, to many bots and too much hate.

Or maybe I’m just crabby because someone (not me) got assaulted at the capital again. The security guards just look away because we are not on capital grounds and the police won’t come because protecting the general public is not in their job descriptions.

My new uniform fits very well but she left a pin in the waste-band. I was laughing/cussing about it because Mom used to sew all of our clothes and we knew to check for pins before donning our new dresses. It didn’t really matter, she would always get us at least once a garment.

The last time I heard an ice cream truck, I ran outside waving money in the air just like I did when I was a kid (kinda, I had dimes back then instead of ten dollar bills). I was so excited, I picked a drumstick off the board and unwrapped it on my way back to the porch. Then I tried to bite it and learned that ice cream trucks deep freeze their products so they have to sit on the counter for a while before that first glorious bite.

So much for that.

It seems as though you are also married to a fuddy-duddy.

I didn’t want to say anything about it because I didn’t want to encourage you do do it again!

So the fireflies were delightful as always and I saw a few bats swooping around. Most of the possums seem to have moved on and the birds aren’t bringing nearly as many hungry babies to the feeders. It seems as though summer is full upon us. The weather guessers said we would get at least one thunderstorm today, but they were just guessing. It did cloud over but that was it.

Hubs has decided that the hoses must be unhooked from the taps after every use. Apparently the expensive anti-freeze taps he had put in can be damaged if you leave your hoses hooked up during no freeze times.

This means that now Hubs will be responsible for all of the hand watering because I am not going to unhook the hose every use. The closest bib to my posies is a really issue, it is really hard for me to reach already, taking the hose off after every use is not something I’m willing to do.

So, now that I’m looking at losing the use of my right arm in less than a month, I’m starting to cook for the duration. Today I made a chicken tamale casserole and tomorrow I will make a big pot of shrimp fettichini. I’m also going to make up a pot of scampi to freeze and maybe a lasagna.

Hubs will “cook” while I’m not able, but we have been eating so clean for so long, I don’t want to start eating processed food every meal.

Shits getting real. I’m still not convinced that I’m going to have the surgery, but if I do, its best that I’m ready for it.

Ha! Not long after I posted here we discovered there were two kits hiding in the back room. We took the fan out of the window, opened the screen, propped a board up against the windowsill, shut the door and headed out for Lady SCAdian’s birthday dinner. Got home hoping the critters had gone out the window. Nope. Opened the back door and left it; they stayed put, and the two we’d seen on the porch came in. Grrrrrr. :frowning: After another half hour or so they finally left, and we shut the window and back door.

And now Lily, the cat who normally lives in the back room (with the door shut, so the other cats can’t come in and try to beat her up), has disappeared. Hopefully she didn’t go out the back door – there are coyotes and a bobcat known to be in the neighbourhood, And she doesn’t know anything about being outdoors; we’ve had her since fall of '21, when she was just a few weeks old, and the only times she’s been out have been in a carrier for vet visits.

They’re not out here yet, but I do love when they fill the entire volume of my back yard.

There are a pair of nesting cardinals in the button bush on Sis’ patio that I’ve been watching in the mornings.

Check YT. It’s hard to link on the tablet, but I know that some are there.

I got a few chores out of the way today, then made a quick Aldi run because we were running dangerously low on dog treats. Sis and BIL stayed a day longer than originally planned, so should be back late tomorrow night. I’ll likely spend the night and leave Tuesday morning. I’m ready.

Got home from a closing shift, gratefully shed every sweaty thing I was wearing, plopped down in my literal birthday suit to hang with y’all … and saw this.

Now my naked ass is debating putting on clothes a bathrobe like the classy chick I can be, just to - sigh - do the needful.

On a nicer note, S.M. gifted me a lovely pair of silver earrings featuring a tiny black cat, and I was so touched. She knows how much I lurves my Monks.

She mentioned that her mom kinda wants a cat (they have a resident dog who has put a firm veto on the idea) and I was like, “You CANNOT HAVE MY MONKEY.”

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Might as well bite the bullet.

< crosses fingers >

Fireflies are :star_struck:

We’re going to have stern words.

I did! … inside my tummy! (I ate another today, the last of the strawberry. Gawds, that woman can make some amazing frosting!)

I assume you’re familiar with the “beer in shallow pan” trick?

If not .. use cheap shitty beer.

D’aaaawwwwwww.

There’s a really dirty “that’s what she said” joke somewhere.

I’m glad they lived up to your gold lame high standards!

I’d stay the hell outta Texas, except for Austin area.

… on purpose?

(Did “we” forget to do our chores?)

Thank you for the encouragement.

Bathrobe & :poop: box AND big bin have all been dealt with.

Bathrobe has been sloughed back off, but - that I’m aware - no neighbors saw me and clutched whatever the Michigan version of Southern clutchin’ pearls might be.

hand out “Sticker and lollipop, please.”

Been up for almost half an hour. At 04:40, Goo decided to hork up a very wet hairball on the bed. The sheet is in the washer.
