(Old) Turning up the heat in the MMP

I do believe I have found the second lens from my glasses. Still pissed at the dog for chomping my glasses.
Fortunately, as a 50+ year wearer of glasses, I have some back-ups.

Shoe Love the blue dot!!

Monkey needs to team up with The Cheat

Happy birthday Nellie!

It’s Farm Aid Day. At 7pm ET, it’ll be on CNN. In the meantime, you can go to farmaid.org to see it.

Fortunately, I still have some hi-tech filter masks from my factory days of sweeping up big clouds of dust. If you don’t, and have asthma, as I do, you can survive the forest fire smoke with a good filter mask from your hardware store.

The advice that comes with bad air alerts is oxymoronic. Stay indoors, and to keep from adding to the problem, walk or bike. Huh??

Got a few things hung in the corner that was finally cleared of boxes. I have two vintage, heavy duty folding chairs (important for seating company when you live in a small place) and my little folding luggage cart that used to live on the laundry room wall. Now, they live by the front door, with my rolly craft cart below.

I also baked some SF oatmeal raisin muffins this afternoon. Given that my kitchen is about the size of one in an RV, my baking activities will be limited to batter type stuff, not anything that has to be rolled out or kneaded.

I did get started on a card project that I’ll finish this evening.

It took almost two hours to get down to Fort Casey and the Admiralty Head Lighthouse. We only pokes around for about an hour. We went back to the lighthouse, and The Missus bought a Nortwest Lighthouses poster.

We saw a Tudor-looking place called The Mill at the Kasteel on the way down. Turns out it’s a Mexican-American restaurant. I was hoping it was a steak house. Anyway, the corn tortillas were made in-house; and the beans were mostly whole beans. I carbed out for lunch.

I do remember. Oddly, I had thought about him yesterday.

Oh thank you so much. that really means a lot to me.

Howdy Y’all! We had quality cee-mint pond time complete with day drinkin’. It was quite pleasant out. Lunch, nappage and watchin’ tackleball have taken up the rest of the day. I had some good sharp cheddar cheese with some pita chips as a snack a little while ago. Soooooo good! Thus is the news from swampland.

BBBoo I watched most of the game. I cheered the Huskers on, but alas they fell short. However it was a great game and the Huskers have nuttin’ to be ashamed of.

The smoke mostly cleared away–yay1–wo I walked to the nail salon instead of busing there. I went for a sparkly blue polish because the September birthstone is sapphire. I’m new to pedicures, as I seldom polish my nails, and when I do, I use clear polish. Anyway, the pedicure included massages, oils, and hot rocks. My feet are happy.

I got flowers and gifts and calls and texts, so the rest of me is happy, too. My sister gave me a stemless winegass that says, “A wise woman once said ‘Fuck this shit’ and she lived happily ever after.”

Sensei, I hope you got through the day somehow. Your son’s time here was as brief as a rainbow but beautiful and important. I read your original post about your loss and cried.

Oopsie, I meant to ask earlier if you’ve been to Legoland." The original US was near my mom’s house in Carlsbad, so I’ve been a few times. You’re such a Lego expert, you could probably work there as a professional. Anyway, I always enjoy your creations.

FCM, congrats on the new fuel tanks. The fact they’re smaller isn’t much of an issue, right? I’m thinking you generally take pretty short trips.

VanGo, I’m glad the lens turned up. Maybe Peach thought it stomach would help her stomach see what she ate?? I had a dog once who chewed Gordon Lightfoot, or at least the album cover for Gord’s Gold. Mr. Lightfoot looked like he had smallpox scars ever after.

Geezer Pleasers Monthly, vol. 5, no. 9, centerfold. Guys were drawing clothes on my body. If I were a stripper, the audience would be tossing clothes at me and calling, “Put it on! Put it on!”

Oh, and I love Penzey’s! Their Vietnamese cinnamon spoiled me so I can’t buy any other brand or kind.

If you average it out, you’re about 21, so old enough to drink, young enough to party.

The hoochies would be nice. Coochies are against my religion. Can one hoochie without coochies?

MUST. KNOW. MORE. It sounds adorable!
Bowser: I am very good at downward dog.

See what happens when you don’t remove the pick?

Well, we had too much wind and they canceled the second day of the sailing race. That’s the funny thing about sailing, if you don’t have enough wind, it’s not good and if you have too much, it’s not good.

At least I managed to get through the race management yesterday without screwing up anything.

So, I have an unexpected day of freedom.

Happy Birthday Nellie. I’m so happy you are part of my world, you make it so much better.

I probably wouldn’t be your best choice seeing as how I’m specializing in very small detached houses. TBH, I’m making less than federal minimum wage doing this, but it allows me to indulge one of my hobbies.

Now that realtors know that I’m in the game, I can get the keys to houses all over the state. I can go in and look at the kitchens and closets and paint and everything! I’ve been in some really super nice historic places and some real dumps. I love it, its better than Zillow!

I promise you that for every message you get, there are another hundred other kids out there who don’t know how to contact you with their thanks.

I do hope the other lens showed up.

I packed up my spices and sauces and moved them in my car. I thought that Hubs and I were on the same page as far as the expensive booze was concerned and only left it so he could have something to drink during his part of the move. He gave it all to TC friend instead. While I certainly didn’t miss the bottle of Fireball I kept in the cabinet for BFF, I’m still grumpy about the thirty year old cream sherry.

I hope you at least made your table fee back! And had fun, of course.

Can horses be trained to poop on command? I’ve known people who have trained their dogs to poop on command and horses are pretty smart critters. Also, why wasn’t that horse wearing a diaper (poop catcher?, no idea what they are called) like they do at Disneyland? So many questions that will forever be unanswered.

I’m so glad your boat is going to be seaworthy soon. I’ll bet you can’t wait to get out on the water again, its been so long.

Jolene took out a nice hand thrown vase I had on the side table a few weeks ago. It was totally an accident but I was still all GRRRR! inside. I know you have to expect pet damage but yeah, it sure does upset you at the moment.

I looked at a cute place in Madison today. If I keep this up, I’m going to buy a signature stamp, my hands just can’t take all the signing.

(The next door neighbor had beehives. While I would love to live next to a mess of tame bees (and I’m epi-pen allergic to bee stings), other folks might be hesitant.)

Are you still getting good tomatoes? We were at a farmer’s market today and the tomatoes were mostly green.

Do you remove the seeds before cooking the tomatoes or use a mill after they have become sauce. Cooking shows lately are just plopping tomatoes in the pot and letting them stew like that then running them through the food processor. I’m lazy, but also rather timid so haven’t tried it yet.

And you will suffer so much!

Enjoy the visit and the game

GG has never learned to eat people fud, but Jolene was raised in a shelter. I’ve learned that kittens raised in shelters never hear the word NO, so she always wants to know what we are eating. We just show her our salad or bread plate and she wrinkles up her nose and tells us that we eat some weird stuff and takes off.

So, this is getting long and stuff needs to be done.

Yesterday I saw that there was a new farmer’s market in Madison and had the lock code to go into a place near by so bribed Hubs with Mexican food at the good place.

We looked at the house first, the last owners were very xian and the house would need paint inside and out to turn it secular enough to sell. Plus the beehives next door. And the W/D hook-ups were on the back porch.

Cute neighborhood, though.

The market was nice, it is sponsored by the county medical system and is focused on healthy eating. As long as you ignored the cookies and cakes for sale. We bought a pot of mums and I saw some soap that I should have grabbed for the Secret Santa. I’ll probably go back next week for the soap and more mums. My porch flowers are fading fast but the butterflies are still flittering around.

Friggin’ teenagers.

On a better note, S.M. got the munchies and treated the crew to … Little Caesars.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I mean, I appreciated the unexpected free snack, but …

the tomatoes were mostly green.

Fried green tomatoes! @JaneDoe42 cuz I borked the quote thing again.

ETA who the heck puts their laundry machines on the porch? Clothesline, sure, but … { wanders off shaking head & muttering }

I’m so sorry, {{{Sensei}}}.

If it’s an older home, it wasn’t uncommon to put the washer on the enclosed / semi-enclosed back porch. Our ringer washer was one of those when I was little.

Hugs to you, sensai.

Agree! Thank you for the support-I bet your cheering us on was why we got that amazing Hail Mary in the very last second of the first half. Go, swampy!

Evening all. Survived the day of soccer without passing out, but got much radiation for the day, started out of the house at 7:15am and didn’t get back inside until 1:45pm. Coached a game and refereed two others, both an hour long, so of course as soon as I got home and ate/hydrated…I went to the gym…there are days I think I’ve become a bit obsessive about my working out… Anyway, home and dinner and been quietly internettin’ and You Tubin’ since then// Temperature is down to 73F so should be a comfortable sleep time, suspect that I will sleep good tonight.

Haven’t reported in all day, so might not get to everyone (over 50 posts in the last 23 hours), but here goes:

nellie, hope the fires don’t get anymore severe (sounds like they are clearing). And a most happy (and possibly belated) birthday to you (but I’ll forgo the singing, I want you to have a happy birthday after all…

VanGo. chewing glasses? Don’t think I’ve ever heard that one. Hope you found the other lens (and I see you have)/

Sensei, I didn’t know Ian, but I can tell it was someone very important to you, so {{{hugs}}}.

Sticky Buns, glad you beat the rap (this time) on jury duty. Still waiting for my first call… And hoping the craft show was a hit.

FCM,

Yeah, I knew better, just being tongue-in-cheek.

Cookie

I believe the proper term is ‘asshole’…

Been sleeping better, at best one bladder-induced awakening per evening and been getting 7-8 hours straight in. And hope Husband-unit gets his eyes checked out soonest, that does not sound good.

shoe, reading of your teenager issues, you really don’t want to coach 11-year old soccer teams…trust me on this. Hope tonight is better. And love the blue dot!

Oopsie, nice work on the Legos. And I am not a games person, but glad you got the system working well for your needs.

I do not blame you a bit, that sounds good from my far-distance.

BBBoo, looks like Nebraska gave Michigan a run for it’s money, but just fell short.

flyboy, and another mole bites the dust; hope this finally cleans them out. and sorry that the Wolfpack got Duked-out…at least not as embarrassing as the North Caroline Belichicks,

JtC, glad you have such an interesting side job, hope it continues working out for you.

ISWYDT

And that’s all I have the energy for. Back to the You Tubes until I’m sleepy enough to head off to Slumberland. Take care all.

Made some black and bean garlic chicken stirfry to go with tonight’s Sazarac. Watching F1 FP1 and Quali.

I’ve known am Utz rep that only ate Pringles, a Pepsi rep that only drank Coke, and a cook at a Greek restaurant that preferred plain black olives.

This and Incarnate Word losing makes me feel better.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 89 and sunny. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization in which I have verger duty. OYKW wants to go to the good local seafood place afterwards, so we shall. There will definitely be nappage as we will have full tummies.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization shall commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!
