(Old) Turning up the heat in the MMP

Changing an email address seems like it would be trivial. A complicating factor is that I’ve been with Xfinity for 18 years, so I own the account; but when my wife got an iPhone a few years ago, and then I got one, she’s the one who pays for them. (I think.) But her email address is on ‘my’ cable/Internet/VOIP account (which I do pay for).

Oh, here’s another annoyance. One of our members wants to upload their monthly commercial accounts receivable data to BMCRA. The documents have been submitted, their code has been assigned, and now BMCRA is asking for files. I attempted to upload them on the 10th, but their system rejected them. So I emailed them to the requesting department. Just after I clocked in from lunch, I got an email from that department saying they haven’t received any files, and would I like to cancel the ‘onboarding case’. Um… No. I sent them the screenshot of the failed uploads (which they should have removed, as I requested it a week ago), and attached the customer and aging files to the email… which I marked High Priority. I also asked them to acknowledge receipt.

Then you missed the best part. One of the parade horses lifted it’s tail and left a nice warm pile of used horse food right in front of our orange troll and his black floor lamp. It is currently a very popular clip in certain circles, I hope you get the chance to enjoy it.

I’m getting a little break to do Stuff until dinner. Neighbor is in much better shape today. We’ll both sleep over there again anyway since I can hear when she starts moving around in the living room and alert my lovely wife, who is on night toilet duty. With luck, other friends and family will take over tomorrow morning.

Q: How many pizza babes does it take to change a water-filled light bulb?
A: Depends if you want water in the whole thing, or water on one side, anchovies on the other.

So I went to the dentist today and got waterboarded for an hour. Then I wrote a big check for the privilege.

When your mouth is numb, you cannot suck on straws or pipes. No water and no weed for hours. It was horrible. I’m only now able to talk without drooling. Do not be me and forget/ignore dental issues, they never get better.

Hubs had ordered more cardboard scratching pads for the fuzzbutts and they arrived while I was gone.

Howdy Y’all! Well, mowage did not happen. Instead we had quality cee-mint pond time with day drinkin’ just cause we could. Then we had nappage. Then leftovers got nuked and et. Maybe I’ll accomplish mowage tomorrow. Or not. I love bein’ a RDOS!

Someone in the Lost Angeles Farcebook group posted pictures of some artefacts he’d dug up. One was a coin that said ‘1 SCRUPLE’, and had a couple of symbols. I had to look it up. A scruple is an apothecary weight unit used into the 1940s. One scruple is 20 grains, or approximately 1.296 grams.

That’s kind of neat. I wish I had some scruples.

Unfortunately, that isn’t the practice they’re referring me to. It does make me wonder, though, how the patients on her show are compensated.

I finished up the flowers this afternoon. Now, I have them kitted up to make three Thanksgiving / Autumn cards.

Meanwhile, I’ve also played several rounds of tug-of-war with the small beast, a lot of fetch and now he’s busy unaliving one of his braided inseam ropes.

It was too late to edit my previous post. When I discarded my attempted edit, it blanked my post. So…

ETA: Here’s a picture.

And now the original post has reappeared. Weird.

Down the beach for dinner. I had my usual grilled Caesar salad w/grilled chicken. The Spousal Unit had the blackened rockfish sandwich w/fries. A couple of inches of fish wouldn’t fit in her (large) bun, so I got to eat that. She had one Hemingway daiquiri, and I had two Rob Roys.

Got packed; it went quickly after I got my plan written. We’ll be dealing with overnight lows of 55ish, and daily highs of 75ish. IME out there, the high is reached only briefly, so for most of our time outside it’ll be 60-something. Although I’ll be gone 12 days and her 8 we’ll have fulltime access to a washer & dryer, so I’m bringing 5 days of clothes (wearing 1 plus 4 more) & will wash them all twice. I’ll be encouraging her to do simlarly. This isn’t a fancy event.

I walked to a nearby Italian place for dinner. Which was a nice super Tuscan to accompany a burrata and prosciutto salad. Plus some great fresh-baked bread w pepper / garlic infused olive oil & balsamic. Despite the bread I ended up with a very good blood sugar reading. Which was / is encouraging.

Bedtime will be soon, for wakeup is but 8-1/2 hours in the future & I have a few minutes of pre-bed prep yet.

I made three Thanksgiving cards with some of the flowers that I made yesterday and today. I’m loving the yellows!

Up from naptime. Having a Jungle Bird with Smoked Paprika Chicken and a salad. I got the Dolphins/Bills game on.

I’m in

Talk to the building about that.

TV fame?

I’m late once again. It’s been busy 'round here.

My eldest sister had her debit card hacked, and the thieves stole around $7,000 from her bank account. Actually, they spent it at various retailers–I’m guessing online. It’s a lot of money, and she’s on a limited income. Also, she’s the sister who got scammed out of $2500 a few months ago, so it’s extra upsetting. She’s got a deputy at her house now. I feel awful for her.

In other news, I got the Covid booster today. I was going to wait until next week, but I have to get a Prolia injection next week, plus even though WA (along with CA, OR, and HI) has taken steps to ensure everyone over age 6 months can get the vaccine without an Rx, I didn’t want risk the hassle if Medicare or my supplemental insurance decides to follow the CDC.

I think my sister-in-law got over her anger and got worried she’d lose me as a friend/confidante. She called me the other day and didn’t say a word about recent events. (Sisters and I were worried she was about to fall for a scam. It’s definitely going around.)

My neighbor with Covid is doing better. I walked her dog again, but she says she’s well enough now to do it herself. So THAT’S good news!

Do any of you have issues with people forgetting the time difference and calling/texting you at all hours? I got texts yesterday at 5 a.m. and got so irked, I turned off my phone. It was so peaceful, I didn’t turn it back on again until noon. Of course I missed some calls and texts, including some from Old Flame, who tends to think the worst if he can’t reach me. I guess it’s nice that if I kick it, I won’t be lying here for days without anyone wondering about me. Anyway, why can’t people keep time zones straight?

I’m working on the floor again. "Nuff said.

But you’re so much more fun without them!

And you’re so good at it!

It occurs to me that everything cat must look small when next to GG. (That IS a small pad, though.)

Thank you both for the info. I have a diabetic friend coming for lunch one day soon, so this is valuable to me. Now I just have to find brown basmati. I know the supermarkets here have the regular basmati.

Lily, loved the joke!

Sister calling.

I never said I’d use them!

Evening all. Gym was gymed, soccer was practiced, garbage bin has been returned to the garage, and cheeburger was devoured, so all is good here. The outside cool-down is starting, temperature has dropped to 77F on it’s way to 63F so the AC will get a break but right back to the low 90’s tomorrow.

Have my Firday grocery shopping list ready, I tend to try and keep my lists by department, produce all together, then meat and frozen and cereal in their sections of the list. Not my major monthly shopping, but about 8-10 items along with several coupons should make for a good morning trip.

And the scroll wheel is performing within specifications, so onward to my reviewing.

FCM, Kroger has self-checkouts but an employee is always around them to ‘assist’ when needed. Publix didn’t used to have any but I am seeing several of their stores are putting them in.

Cookie, glad you finally got the TSP straightened out; mine has been going as planned to my checking account for the past 4-5 years (how long have I been retired, anyway?)

red, hope the cyst removal isn’t too much of a problem.

doggio. am happy you weren’t steeled.

lily, pretty cones, but not very practical out on the streets. And glad neighbor is doing better.

Oopsie, I think all of us learn to put on the ‘I’m interested’ face for meetings we are only slightly connected with. Enjoy the new Atari.

Nut, my trash got picked up as scheduled, but the recycle bin (mine and all the folks in the area) remains at the curb. Hope they do come back and make pickup.

flyboy, never had XFinity and from what you and Pilot say, sounds like I’ll keep not having their services into the future. And nice of you to check on neighbor. And hope member gets their fecal matter together… Interesting info about the scruple, there are some up on EBay if your interested.

JtC, I’ve been fortunate so far, just the routing scraping/polishing every six months, hoping it stays that way. And lovely GG pic.

swampy, the grass isn’t going anywhere; mow when you feel like it, that’s my motto.

Pilot, sounds like you are a much more savvy packer than I (probably helped by your career), I always over-pack. Have a great flight tomorrow morning.

nellie, Oh No! I hope Sis can get her money back. I try to check my debit and credit cards at least twice a week. Glad the family relations got patched up and you’ve been vaccinated.

And that’s all. Tackleball is at halftime and is actually a fairly interesting game, so will alternate between it and You Tubing for the balance of the night. Take care all.

We are quite happy with Xfinity. When I moved up here, I had AT&T. I had to go out into the street if I wanted to use my mobile. I switched to Virgin, which became… Boost? It wasn’t much better, but at least I could usually make a call from the house. Usually. I contacted them to say that there’s a cell tower within eyesight, but they didn’t use that one. Not in so many words, but their response was ‘Well, it sucks to be you.’ So we went with Xfinity, and the cell coverage has been great. But dealing with CS when the need arises is a chore. Fortunately, the need seldom arises.

Those cards are gorgeous!

Me too. Except I mistrust even more entities than you (and with lots more cuss words) but then you are nicer.

No effects at all 6 hours later and going in this formulation seemed less ouchy than many past ones. The geezer flu vax will be next. Before Halloween. The memory jog for that one is “flu before boo!”. Of course I like that.

From the state visit to London today.
