(Old) Up, Up and Away in the MMP

Apparently, the store has never heard of customers with personal grudges against an employee over matters that have nothing to do with the store, or of customers who are massive jackasses playing power games, if they would fire without even investigating whether the complaint has any basis in reality.

It was only my opinion, not a fact. I don’t work for the company. Try reading for content.

Waves with left arm, good evening everyone!

I am worn out. I took myself to PT, the library, the dispensary, Walgreens and Capt. D’s. That was a lot of driving and movement for my arm and it really did take a lot out of me.

The budista’s wife had the same surgery as me, but a month prior. She is my bad example, he says she won’t do her exercises and can’t wash her own hair yet. He looked a little peeved when I was able to wrap my arm over the top of my head to show where she should be.

I picked up my new sandwich board and my PT adjusted the straps so I only had to use my left hand to hook it up. The front says “SHAME” (white background, red letters) and the back is white background, black letters “Yer grandpappy didn’t run moonshine through these hollers for you to grow up to be a bootlicker” I’ve been seeing that saying on bumper stickers a bunch lately, I like it.

Hubs went out for a ride and got home just before the magical skywater started falling. We got a quarter of an inch and now it is sunny again.

The fuzzbutts are now ignoring our robot vacuum which is a good thing. I was able to tell where Jolene stood her ground for a while. No more deer in the yard but the cardinals are going nutz on the corn. I would have thought the jays would like it better, but what do I know about mountain birds anyhow? I’m learning so much here, it makes my brain feel happy.

 I guess I’m lucky. Nelson only needs his back nails trimmed about twice a year (I walk him on the concrete walkway and it wears them down) and his front ones about once a month. Sometimes it’s a struggle to get the last nail trimmed, but it’s doable. He’s just a couple of pounds bigger than Ollie, although JtC’s George is a little bigger than either of them.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing the pics of the Mumpets. Nice to put sweet faces with names.

We got a little rain this morning, which washed some of the pollen and crap out of the air and I immediately felt some sinus relief. I read most of the day. I may have enough energy to mess around in the studio this evening.

Howdy Y’all! I survived funeralizin’ once again. The service was nice and since it was just the burial rite, from start to when Bill’s cremains got plopped in the columbarium it was forty-five minutes. The reception after was very nice. Nummy sammiches, cake, cookies, and best of all, IMO, cheese straws. I know who the primo cheese straw maker is, so I was excited. They were crisp, cheesy, and just the right touch of cayenne pepper to give 'em some bite. OYKW was jealous when I told him about 'em.

I have a kinda funny story, as well. It rained durin’ the service and as it often does this time of year, didn’t last long and only managed to make it even more humid than it already was. I was carryin’ the Pascal candle and as soon as I stepped outside my glasses fogged and I could not see a thing, which was bad as I was leadin’ the procession out to the columbarium. The funeral director, who is also a good friend, was at the door, so I whispered to him to please remove my glasses as I couldn’t see. He did so I could move forward. I was able to go out and turn right where I was supposed to turn. Gary, the funeral guy, got kinda tickled and I could see him tryin’ not to laugh. After the commendation, which fortunately takes all of five minutes, Priest asked me what happened to my glasses. I told him and that got him tickled. However, we maintained decorum cause we are all couth and stuff.

JtC fortunately I use none of those products. I am especially appalled at the pimento cheese. I mean, who doesn’t make their own! The very thought of sto’ bought pimento cheese makes me want to clutch my pearls and fall upon the faintin’ couch!

red hope management really does sump’n about the neighbor this time. Hope the digestive problem resolves itself soonest.

doggio does Spot prefer his mouse-tinis shaken or stirred? I’m a shaker personally.

BrightTree to be fair, OYKW does help with the sammich prep. He loves to get out the electric knife to trim the crusts and cut the bread in horizontal halves. He also insists there must be a paper doily on the tray. I think he might be gay. I love this time of year with all the farm stands with fresh produce. Our favorite one is a hoot. They always light us when they see one or both of us and start with recommendations of stuff they’ve just gotten in.

MetalMouse I admire you for mowin’ today. Mayhaps I shall get inspired sometime in the next week.

Taters I have seem some part-time gigs that intrigued me, but I really do love bein’ a RDOS, so never pursued any.

my favorite!

Did you get them in Cocoa Beach or is there another Ron Jon Surf Shop?

Responsibilities I’m wondering why one of the responsibilities isn’t * Helps co-workers when own tasks are completed or co-worker is overwhelmed.
Qualifications should include Good Team Worker

I didn’t have these on my vacation menu for next week but they’ve now been added. Thanks for the suggestion.

That’s what I thought.

Mollie love this morning’s sunrise!

First task this morning after sheveling was to complete the grocery list; Hubs only had 3 items on it; when I was done there were 21 items that were purchased with another 10 items that I didn’t buy. After completing list, watered garden thoroughly and refilled water jugs. Hubs had said he’d be ready to go by 9:15. We left at 9:45.

As I was putting items away, Hubs’ best man and his daughter came over. Best man lives in Oregon and daughter works for Google in the SF Bay area. Of course, they asked how I was doing and I told them part of the saga of last week’s trip to the concerts in Massachusetts. I asked if the daughter was a BTS fan; no, she’s a Swiftie but her younger sister is a BTS fan; she was at one of the concerts that BF was at in Stanford. So, I asked who her favorite band member is. The older sister texted her younger sister and the reply came back V aka Tae. I had a Tae bucks and a keychain with his pic on it so gave them to older sister to take back to the west coast to give to her younger sister. Then Hubs, Best Man and daughter went to lunch and to walk around the local attraction.

I spent the afternoon working on adding to my vacation spreadsheets, printing them then getting together the things for daughter to take up tomorrow. Daughter and her girlfriend are going tomorrow; Hubs and I will leave around noon on Sunday.

We all met at Kroger gas at 4:40pm. I gassed up 4 cars, 32.9 gallons $111.93. Then we all came back to our house and I put the refrigerated items in a small cooler for daughter to take and she took Bella’s crate that resides at our house along with a big bag of snacks, a box of non-perishables and a baking dish to brine the chicken in along with the 3 spreadsheets printed earlier and directions for how to brine the chicken.

Ever since daughter and her girlfriend left I’ve been trying to catch up on the mmp and also foraged a little food. Now I’ll likely watch the dvr of the second round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship. My fav golfer was in second at the beginning of the day; will have to see how he ended up.

Oops, 3 posts while I was writing mine.

I like it too.

I concur.

Now I really am caught up and am going to watch some golf.

I’ve heard of such a thing as store bought pimento cheese, but I don’t believe in it.

I got them online. I used to shop at the one in Orange, CA, but it’s not there anymore. I still have a ‘Ron Jon California’ shirt that I wear from time to time.

I also shopped at Hilo Hattie, where I bought many of my aloha shirts. They’re no longer there either.

Up from naptime. I watched the Dolphins game. Now I’m having Bachelor Food Cioppino and a Puritan for dinner.

< Ms. Peach dislikes this post >

It is weird that people whose ancestors spent 300 years flipping the Bird at The Man do this.

Stirred, with a twist.

I mean, I’m from Wisconsin, and I know that This Just Isn’t Done.

The evening is winding down. We attended the food truck event at the high school, didn’t see much of anything of interest, and went to the brewery for burgers and beer.

When we got home, we loaded Spike’s gear into the Highlander, so Mrs Magill can take him back to school. I have been fired from that job after **Fang’s sophomore year, when I took him back, got everything up to his room, wished him a good semester, and went back home.

Apparently, I was supposed to help him unpack and set up his room. My parents would just drop me and my stuff off. Times change.

Tomorrow is the MTTA night out. I’m still figuring out what to wear. Hopefully, this time I’ll remember to take photos, so my coaches can rate my outfit and provide much needed guidance.

I’ve said it before, but thank you so, so much for the support you all have given me. I don’t think I would be in as good a place right now without it.

:sparkling_heart:

Go, you! You’re crushing it, lady! Makes me smile.

I like it, too! And I think it is so cool that your PT made your sandwich sign!

No concrete here. I take Ollie on walks around the property, but soft pine needles and pasture grass don’t wear down his nails worth a damn. My last little guy would just lay on his back in my arms while I trimmed, and sneeze every time I clipped. Clip. Sneeze! Clip. Sneeze! Clip. Sneeze! Was pretty funny.

I hope your energy is better tomorrow, too.

You are such a better person than me! One day I will have to share with you the story about completely dissolving in laughter, made worse by efforts to stifle, while attending an Evensong service in Bath, England with a close friend and my stepmom. Truly a standout in My Moments of Deep Embarrassment. I feel the blush coming over my face to recall it.

I’m glad you got the good cheese straws! And it’s nice that OYKW is gay enough to help with making those perfect sammiches. We’re in a mind meld about the fresh produce at farm stands at this time of year, too.

Cat Glove, what a nice thing to do for Hub’s best man’s younger daughter, the BTS fan! Have a fabulous vacation!

Ms Peach is wise to give me a wide berth. She is so adorable, I could just eat her up.

No more than you’ve done for us, Mollie. Thank you right back!

What a grand day it was! After all my success running errands this morning, I thought I’d see if my luck would hold and tackled several really stupid but difficult administratrivia tasks that have been hanging over my head.

The cell phone log-in issue is resolved at last, and it didn’t even take very long! I also had some weird mix-up going on with converting the rewards points on one of my credit cards to cash back, so I took that one on, too. Not only did I get it resolved, but I learned a foolproof way to do it ever after. Since I only convert those points every couple of years, I wrote down all the instructions for next time. Which will be helpful. Unless they change the process (again), of course.

There were a couple other lesser time-consumers, but the above two were the ones that were bugging me the most. It’s great to have them off my Fucking Get This Done! list.

Didn’t get peckish until after 6:30, but it did happen. I had one of the burritos I made and froze a couple months ago. They’re small, so it was perfect. Now, where’s that peach for dessert?

Happy evenings, all!

Oh, shake it; you won’t break it.

Casa Del Shoe is having quite the :musical_note: Cirrrrrcle of Liffffffffe :musical_notes: so imma try to spoiler the remainder for the squeamish.

In the meantime, things are just weird as shit at work, it’s HOT (and oh sooooo not in the good way) and I have continued to fail to do a coupla things at home, but hey, trash is clean & I did reach out to a friend who’s having rough times. So I guess technically I’m not completely useless.

Pretzel is downing one of her two thawed snax. Monkey went outside - conveniently, since otherwise he’s waaaayyyyy too into her feedings - but now he’s cavorting in the grass in a way that makes me highly suspicious he found another mouse.Since I do not want another reprise of Wild Mouse In the House, I am ironically about to feed another rodent (via rainbow tongs!!) while keeping the side door shut lest my idiot beloved cat tries to refill the larder in a decidedly unwanted manner.

Oh, and yesterday at work I had to demonstrate the “cup’n’carboard” catch & release method, because why WOULDN’T there be a damn grasshopper on a pizza counter?

Late night final as I had (for me) a busy day. Front yard got mowed after lunch (total of 7 bags of clippings) and I took another break before going to the gym for a couple of relatively easy hours, then grabbed some snackage and a couple other items from Kroger and went to the referee class (it was on mentoring Youth officials, which I support, not to difficult and passed the test with 19/20 correct). Finally made it home about 8:20pm and will probably call it an early night. Still 83F at 9:30pm, and due to make it to 96F tomorrow, so indoors is definitely planned for the weekend.

And scrolling on down to see what adventures the rest of the Mumpers had…

I remember a Science Fiction author once saying that there are only two types of people in the world; basically decent folks and S.O.B’s…the trick is identifying them…

Bright Tree, a lot of people around here would love that kind of weather…but it will probably be October before we see it. Haven’t donated blood in decades, mostly because I’m one of the more common groups (A+) and partly because I hate needles being stuck in me. And now and then shopping goes exactly as planned…don’t worry, the usual disaster will return shortly… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: And I look forward to the Evensong story someday soon. Reading your newest post, this has been a day worth keeping.

Shoe, sounds like David Attenborough needs to be doing narration at your place… No grasshoppers but strangely I have been finding large (4-5") earthworms on my driveway and sidewalk (in this heat they are all dead and dessicated, but I have no idea why they came out of the grass anyway–never had this happen before).

OK, 10pm and nearly time to head off to Slumberland. Y’all take care now.

JtC, I’ve only had to do PT once in my life so far and I did do it diligently, because I have seen the result of those that haven’t. And love the new sandwich board.

red, hope the sinuses keep clearing.

swampy, I used to judge how hot and humid it was in Abu Dhabi when I lived there by how fast my glasses fogged up after leaving the house…sometimes if was literally as I walked out the door. Glad you had some helpers there. And thanks for the mowing admiration, but it really wore on me and the clothes went right into the laundry basket when I finished.

Cat Glove, that was a nice gesture on the BTS gift. And about $3.40/gallon at Kroger, guess you had some points to spend.

Mollie, my parents did the same with me, help get the stuff up to the room and then I was on my own, so can sympathize.

Made me snicker~giggle just the image of it. !
Thanks, I needed that

And this made me smile til my cheeks hurt

My Alternate Manager can sneeze so hard, the car TWO CARS DOWN in line once yelled “Bleshooo!” out their window. Dang near peed m’self laughing.

Pretzel is downing her 2nd snack, and Monkey is safely back indoors without any snacks of his own, so household chaos has subsided.

As to work tomorrow

"And, here, we see a drunken bitch, who really should not be driving, struggling with all her might to remember what in the absolute hell she wanted on her pizza.

The unseated toddlers squirming in the backseat do not seem to be .. { polite cough } of assistance."

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s my Firday. It’s also 77 degrees Ferret Height(25 Ferrets), with a Heat Index of 89F(31.667C)

I love that song.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 95 and mostly sunny. When OYKW arises we shall have snausage bizkits (homemade bizkits) for the break of fast. There will also be quality cee-mint pond time. The usual RDOS sloth is also planned. Any need to feed today will be via forage cause it’s just too hawt to cook and we’re far too lazy to go pick up food from somewhere.

JtC love the sign!

Mollie at least you came to a full stop so Fang could get out and get all his stuff. I remember wantin’ everyone to leave and let me unpack and set up the way I wanted. Then again, I trained my whole life to become a grumpy old man.

Now I need more caffeine and may wake OYKW so’s I can feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!
