(Old) Waiting for an Update in the MMP

Morning, mumpers! Its currently 15c/58f with a predicted high of 18c/64f and cloudy. Weather app says “It’s the perfect weather to fucking clean your house. If you have a llama, it’s also a good day to brush your fucking llama.” No llamas here, and no time for cleaning either!

Today at midday is the deadline for students to submit applications for extenuating circumstances (means they get a first go at their assessments in August instead of a second one) so there’s a flood of those in our inboxes. We’ve got marks being returned, queries from all sides about stuff that’s outstanding, and we’re a week away from Board of Examiners meetings. It’s definitely the busiest and most pressurised time of year here.

And to top that off, our student record system is unavailable because something somewhere is being updated/upgraded/installed/patched or whatever…it went off on Friday afternoon and will hopefully be available sometime later today. No guarantees, and no idea of when. How frustrating is that?

What are you waiting for important updates on?

When my federal tax refund is going to land.

So I can finish paying for the new roof required after last year’s hail and derecho winds. Fun, fun.

I want to get off the adulting train.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis < snerk > 69! < snerk > Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 89 and N.O.S. for the day. I have an annual wellness checkup at nine a.m. I think the whole idea is stoopid, but my PCP’s office will not relent on the reminders until I do so, so do so I shall. Oh well, at least I have quality cee-mint pond time to look forward to afterward. Sloth, nappage, and day drinkin’ shall be taken care of out beside the cee-mint pond. I have a poke tenderloin that will go into the slow cooker in a while for sup. That, peas 'n carrots, garlic smashed N.O.T., and rolls shall feed us.

I have no important updates pendin’ as I post. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with irk related stuff like that anymore. OK, I am waitin’ to find out what role I shall fill at a funeral scheduled for Sattidy as I’ll either be Chalice or Lector, but that’s not like sump’n to get all antsy about. I do get frustrated when 'puter wants to update and requires me to restart. I mean that might take as much as three minutes! How inconsiderate!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I must purtify and don clothin’ acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Such a bother!

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Trying to start a new BP routine, so after I tended to Higgs, I sat at the dining room table and read for a bit, then did my BP, read some more, and did BP again. THEN got my Diet Coke. I need to remember to do the same this evening… minus the Diet Coke.

We need to leave around 9 for my appt with the neurologist. The office is almost to Lexington Park and I need to get there early to do paperwork - better to be early than late. We’ll have to leave MIL alone but her nurse and aide are due this morning, so she’ll have someone here for part of the time.

Speaking of MIL - she was at our bedroom door at 6 this morning asking if we were OK. I guess she had been dreaming because she thought one of us fell. Um, nope - FCD was sleeping and I was reading on my tablet. And I’m not sure what she could have done if we had fallen - I doubt she can see her phone well enough to call 911.

Daughter starts her new job today - at least she does the initial paperwork today. I’m wondering if they’ll take her to the base to see her office - it’s a bit of a drive, and the base is, um, spread out. I seem to recall that you have to drive a perimeter road to get to where the offices are, assuming she works where I used to work. Anyway, excitement for her!

Last night, I accessed my medical records from my hospital stay. Someone messed up in one report - it stated I was 78 - um, not quite! All the other reports were correct, so I’m guessing it was a typo. Not going to lose sleep over it. The most comforting thing I read was “Age-appropriate findings for 70 years.” So I’m not falling apart faster than I should. Yay!

Happy Moanday!

Mornin all. Got some notes over the weekend from the play I’m building a set for. “OH, crap! we forgot an entire piece.” So that’s what I’m doing today.

My folks visited over the weekend, which was nice. Much walking around in nature, it’s what they like to do.

Update I’m waiting on is the damn contract for my next project. I talked with the president of the board, and there’s apparently 1 more person who needs to sign off. I sent the frist draft of the contract off a month ago.

Subject lines on spam email can range from inane to hilarious. I just got one claiming a Nazi doctor got some guy a 15" erection. Apart from not knowing why this showed up in my inbox, 15"!?!? Isn’t that just a tad too much? Like freak show quality? What’s the average? 6 or 7?

There are no words…

Waiting for update on employment.
A week and half ago, I took the app in but he was too busy to interview.
Then I’d called and asked So I have a chance yes? He said yes absolutely.
I called wednesday, the guy said he had conversed with boss and he was going to hire me so just waiting for him to call.
May go to dr. as though I am on antibiotic, still feel the urge so somethings up.

5.5 is average. I have seen smaller and larger.

I’m sitting here waiting to go to my interview. I am conflicted about the position and company, but I am trying to keep an open mind. I also am going to continue with the process to help keep my people skill in check. We shall see…

Just finished dust-mopping and then cleaning many square feet of our downstairs laminate floor. I have to be careful not to twist my waist and hips around and around as I do this, because I once tweaked my sacro-iliac joints badly when mopping and was in pain for a few weeks. So the floor will look nice and shiny for an hour or two or until dust gets tracked in from the backyard.

When it’s dry, it’s on to breakfast. It’ll be scrambled eggs with diced poblano chiles, and toasted homemade corn tortillas. I made the tortillas yesterday to accompany a Mexican dinner, and I have three or four left over.

In a couple of days we have tree trimmers arriving to prune back and thin out our two huge sycamores. They haven’t been trimmed since they were planted, twenty-five years ago, and they’re very overgrown and weedy. And we want them not to overhang the house, because I’ve been reading that home insurance companies are using drones to check on their customers’ roofs. The company can cancel your insurance if they see overhanging branches or mossy roofs! So a good pruning is warranted. Also, I hope there’ll be far less leaves getting into our rain gutters.

And a good Monday morning to you all. The rain has departed the vicinity but left all it’s clouds behind and there is a 60% chance of it returning tonight and tomorrow. Temperatures will be in the Mid-80’sF both days so hot and wet are likely in my future.

Not waiting on any updates (except about refereeing a soccer game Saturday), but did manage to print out the referral information for the audiologists so I’ll contact them today and set up an appointment, so then I will have an update to wait for.

boo fae, ah, nothing like the last minute for students to submit applications (adults do that to). Hope the work settles down quickly.

BBBoo, do you get it directly deposited in your account or do you have to wait for a check? Usually the USG is fairly responsive to me, but the state can take forever. And as for the adulting train, like the Eagles sang, “you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.”

swampy, hope the wellness check goes…well, well.

FCM, same as swampy, hope the neurologist doesn’t find anything up there… And MIL worried about you guys falling…pot/kettle. Good wishes for Daughter.

And what are you doing getting e-mail from a Nazi doctor!!! As for the average, I don’t know, never looked at anyone else and mine is…mine.

VanGO, there is always one more signature…it is one of the fundamental laws of bureaucracy.

Coppertone, hope you don’t get the runaround on the job.

Sticky Buns, confident but open minded and possibly skeptical is the way to go.

lucky, if I ever get around to hiring a maid service (as some MMPer’s have done), it will be because I do not keep up with cleaning my floors. Hope the back is OK. And pruning seems to be the way to go.

OK, onward to the morning internettin’. My brother sent an e-mial to my cellphone in-box a week ago and I just read it. I usually check my main e-mail 4-5 times a day, why he sent it there I do not understand. But such is life.

Short heaving, then I had my dry, flavorless bits(with strawberries) and Spot had his.

I’m waiting on the likker sto to open.

That would eat at me.

Good luck!

We’re in the middle of an ‘atmospheric river’. There’s a lull in the rain but it’s been windy. I’m irking from home. Earlier there was a loud hum and sparks were falling from the large cedar in the corner of the yard. It happened twice. We didn’t lose power (not even a flicker), but sparks coming out of a tree are concerning. I called Puget Sound Energy, and they’ll send someone out.

I’m waiting until tomorrow morning so I can leave AZ forever.

Remember that stoopid paper document I over-nighted twice? I just signed all of the closing documents and emailed them off, just like it was 2024.

Had to run out. You can’t have cheeseburgers and Old Fashioneds without burgers and bourbon

Nothing worse than a tree shorting out. But fingers crossed you don’t lose power.

Howdy, all. Went to the grandson’s graduation party on Saturday. A lot of people there that I didn’t know; I’m assuming friends and family from his mother’s side. They were clearly not interested in talking to us. My kids were there with their progeny, so we had someone to talk to. Stayed a couple of hours, then left. With all those people there, I hope the kid scored big bucks.

He’s starting trade school in August, which is a one-year soup-to-nuts course on vertical residential construction. They team up with a local contractor and actually build a home from the ground up, so classroom plus hands-on, which is the best learning venue. Tools provided for them to keep, total cost about $8K.

The wife was supposed to go to a play with her niece yesterday. The niece called and said that she has been recovering from an attack by a patient (she’s a critical care nurse). A cop came in with the guy, then wandered off to do who knows what, and the guy attacked her. Wracked her back up pretty good. This is the second time she’s been assaulted at her job. The last time was when a patient kicked her in the chest, sending her across the room where she fell and broke her wrist. Several surgeries later, she still has issues with it. That fucking cop ought to be fired. These folks earn their money, people.

So I ended up going to the play, which was two hours of discomfort sitting in worn out seats and no leg room. Not the best time I’ve had. At least I slept soundly, missing out on the lightning displays that my wife says were spectacular. Still tired today, but it should be a quiet period.

It’s 10:30 and I’m beginning to start about thinking about starting to think about starting my day (I’ve had coffee and breakfast, so I guess I’ve done something). Had trouble motivating myself lately. I think I’ve always had a bit of l background anxiety that occasionally gets in the way, but the stress of selling and buying and moving and big change I think triggered me into a deeper anxiety spiral. Seeing the doc next week.

Yesterday I went to the pool. Nice to have a community pool nearby. We had pools in the surrounding cities at the old place but they were pricier for non-residents and my wife never wanted to go because she teaches and we lived in her district. Awkward having your students see you in a swimsuit. Anyway, I was not diligent about sunscreen and now I am a little lobstery. I’ve had worse, but next time I’ll be better.

If I can get myself up and motivated, going to get some vent covers for the downstairs. And order some lightbulbs. And finish unpacking the boxes in the master bedroom. And keep processing the boxes that are in the garage. I’ve never had a garage, and now I can barely use it because it’s full of boxes.

Beside the fact that I can’t imagine any partner wanting that, I can’t imagine hauling that around. External genitalia is already annoying enough.

Fingers crossed, we don’t lose power.

The PSE guy has been out there a long time. He says he’ll trim the tree some more ‘as a courtesy’, and will get them off of the neighbour’s line as well. He said he’d probably be another hour. Unfortunately the power company won’t take away the limbs. I’ll have to drag them all (and there are a lot of them) into the back yard, chop them up with my little electric chainsaw, and eventually have a bon fire (which is technically illegal here, but many people do it).

Happy Billie Joe McAllister Day!

Skimmed, but not read. Just wanted to say that this was an appropriately named MMP. I got my update about my disability claim status: DENIED.

That was to be expected, though. Speaking of having to work, the interview went well and they want me to do a second interview a week from today. Still skeptical.
