Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put away where it stays until it gets dirty. I also accomplished mowage of the back yahd. Go Me. Quality cee-mint pond time, sloth, nappage, and day drinkin’ were also completed. Leftover sup got et. Now I chill.
Taters readin’ about your commute gives me yet another reason to be glad I am a retired drain on society.
MetalMouse gala apples are tasty. They are one of my favorite.
MOOOOOOM I like gala apples with peanut butter (apple ‘n gravy) as well. Glad you’re feelin’ less dopey with the new meds.
Pilot glad BB and you had a good time. From what I gather, the cleaners are keepers. Findin’ someone good is hard, so yay for that.
doggio I had no idea it’s been National Cheese Day all day. Maybe that’s why I had to have a grilled cheese sammich this mornin’.
Scad a Moon Pie and a RC is the N.O.L. of champions!
It’s pretty simple - you measure and add the ingredients in order, with the yeast going in last on top of the dry flour. Then you hit the start button. When it beeps (2-4 hours later, depending on the bread) it’s done.
But, do you have an Aldi near you? They have a take-and-bake Italian bread that’s sooooooo good! Fifteen minutes in the oven (I use the toaster oven) and then you eat it. With butter. Lots of butter.
I think MIL is losing it. She made herself an ice cream cone - using a knife to scoop out the ice cream. That is, after I gave her the knife she asked for - she can’t tell what’s what in the utensil drawer, but she insists on doing it herself. The woman makes me crazy!!! I am so looking forward to her being gone for a week.
Dividends are ok, as long as they’re reasonable; I get about 25 cents per share quarterly for one of my stocks which I think is reasonable. What’s wrong is obscene CEO and other corporate officer’s ‘salaries’ and golden parachutes and stock options and whatever the heck else they get.
curious how tall you are?
Texas was in my rearview mirror 40 some odd years ago. Although we did go back for a visit when our daughter was one and then again for the Alamobowl in December 2002. So freaking glad that I didn’t get involved with anyone down there and stay. What a nightmare that state is now.
I like apple slices with PB and at other times with x-sharp cheddar cheese.
sounds yummy, I’ll have to try that sometime.
Another busy day. Showered, laundered ‘grays’, washed dishes, fed fish, Krogered. I bought a used meat chuck roast along with items for which the digital coupons expired today and some buy 3, get $2 off items. One of them was for 8 cones of drumsticks; normally I buy the vanilla with nuts on the chocolate coating but today I saw a box that had a variety of vanilla, vanilla fudge and mint. I was all over that.
Sent Hubs a text on way home to get ready to help put groceries away as we needed to leave for his Dr appt in about 10ish minutes. He was ready to help when I got in the door.
Good Dr appt. The Dr reduced the immunosuppression med slightly and ordered a refill on 3 scrips. She felt that he’s doing well enough that the next appt isn’t until 3 weeks hence. Although after he mentioned that he’s been feeling lethargic for the last 3 days, she had him go to the lab for a blood draw and said she wants him to get a blood draw every Monday for a while then she will monitor and communicate via MyChart in the meantime. Some of the results are already posted and his platelets are 200!!! Last year they hovered between 20 and 45ish. In January they were at about 10 or 12. For a man, the bottom of the range is 150 so we are very very happy now.
After the appt we stopped at the sausage store and bought knockwurst, potato/garlic/chive pierogis and a ham steak. Then we went to the ‘good Italian restaurant’. Had my favorite canneloni. So very good; although I could make a meal out of their salad (their house dressing is aces) and bread (which I use to sop up olive oil and parm cheese). So I only ate slightly less than half of the canneloni. Hubs had a big bowl of Italian minnestroni (as opposed to canned minnestroni) and half of his chicken parmesan. He also was served a side of spaghetti with marinara sauce which he didn’t touch. So, we have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.
I’ll make the chuck roast in the slow cooker on Thursday.
We’ll have the ham and pierogis on Friday when daughter is here. She’s coming on the train very late Thursday night.
Phooey. I was going to say I hoped you had a good day on today’s drive but you snuck this post in before I could hit send. Best wishes for a better day tomorrow!
He wouldn’t eat his suspect treat, so I squirted meds in his mouth and then he ran off and hid. I was an hour late getting and then we got maybe 15 miles before traffic stopped because a trump truck had side swiped a RV. Or at least that’s what it looked like, who knows.
It was very fresh, no cops no cones and crap all over the road.
After that it would have been a wonderful drive if not for the very vocal cat in the passenger seat. He’s spending the night in the bathroom, there are too many hidey-holes in the room.
At least pot is legal here, I can go downstairs and smoke.
Between 6’1" and 6’2". And glad Hubs Doctor visit was mostly positive.
FCM, I have an Aldi’s about 3 miles from me, may have to check that out; haven’t had some good Italian bread in quite awhile.
JtC, hope GG adjusts to the travel or the next several days could be trying for the both of you. Take care.
Pretty much been a do-nothing evening, dinner has been assimilated and reading and internetting done, so will retire to the bedroom soon. (That is, if I can stop reading…ended up with a small webcomic called “Pixie and Brutus” that is just too cute to stop reading. About 1/3 of the way through, will try to stop at the halfway point and finish it tomorrow).
I did get to laugh when I was checking in. They asked if GG was a service animal (otherwise there was a 15 dollar cleaning fee) and I said He’s a cat. Have you ever met a cat? They are the most useless animals ever. I’m HIS service animal.
I still had to pay their very reasonable upcharge.
Our office is in a mostly-residential area. After work, I headed toward the freeway. I was on a residential street, going just under the speed limit. I approached a crossing street that had stop signs, and there was a Burien Police Dept. SUV waiting at the stop sign. As I reached the corner, he pulled out right in front of me. I mashed my brakes, and fortunately the anti-lock system stopped me from sliding – and stopped me – on the wet road. I think I missed him by inches, but I might have scratched his paint. I didn’t see anything on the front of my car when I stopped for fuel a couple of hours later. The cop continued straight, and I honked and gave him the ‘WTF were you thinking?’ wave. He stopped, then took off again. And I took off again.
I’m wondering if I should send an email to the Burien Police Dept. asking them to tell their officers to look both ways before they cross the street.
It seems I have a lot of catching up to do.
I’m trying.
I was cutting back on pain meds, which was good. I am not sleeping so much.
I cut out Gabapentin completely as it messes with my head the most. I cut back Tizanidine and Tramadol to once a day at bedtime. Unfortunately, I started waking up with pain again and went back to the normal doses.
Weather has been crazy. A few nights ago, I turned the heat back on. Now we need the A/C.
I’m trying to catch up on stuff around here.
So much to do.
I should be a great-great aunt any day now.
I sent some baby gifts down to my niece’s.
Random stuff I hope they can use.
The other night, my poor son. He got off irk at 230 and called me to get him.
I had accidentally turned off the ringer, and I had set my phone on top of a laundry basket, so I didn’t hear the vibrations.
He called me 160 times.
I finally woke up at 5am.
He was already half way home, after asking a co-worker if she could give him a ride home.
I’m surprised he had the nerve to ask somebody.
He was more than a bit worried.
Fortunately, the woman he asked lives near here, so it was just a short detour for her.
I always wondered what Echo would do if somebody tried to break into the house.
I knew my son was coming in because the motion detector light came on.
Then Echo heard somebody coming in. She got that look on her face she gets when she is going to start a fight, and charged the door. My son said she looked like she was going to attack until she realized it was him.
Not a peep out of her though, not a growl, nothing.
I said she is like a fart, Silent But Deadly.
I always thought she would lick a burglar to death, I guess not.
The GR were right behind her, but I think they had no clue.
