Older BMW question

This might belong in IMHO, but I’ll start here.

I’ve got an older BMW, a 1985 735i, that I’ve recently replaced as my daily driver. The obvious first thought is to sell it and recover the residual value, which I think is somewhere around $3000-3500.

The car’s in good shape, and has relatively low mileage (104K on an 18 year old car). So this crazy idea hit me the other day: why not just find a place to store it, and store it well (so it runs OK), for another seven years until it becomes a classic antique?

What do y’all think? Will its resale value turn the corner once it’s a classic?

Well, considering how ugly the new 7 series is, I’d say you you already have a classic.

Go ahead and sell it. There isn’t anything magical about the 25 year mark that is going to make it any more valuable. May as well get rid of it now as an 18 year old car instead of a 25 year old one.
