Who on these boards, is the oldest, celibate human, or has known someone who’s been a virgin for more than their share of years?
The oldest I know is pretty young… 20.

Well, I’m 28, and pretty much resigned to a sex-free life at this point.
Do I win some sort of prize?
I know a bunch of nuns. Ranging from about 30 to about 90. Do they count?
If not, it’d be my 29 year old friend. She’s gettting married in November though.
As a longtime sufferer of involuntary celibacy ™ I never had any hosepipes inserted into my flowergarden until I was 29. On December 13 2001. In the back of a range rover. Is that too much information?:o
People without a sex life! We’re here! We’re er…chaste! Get used to it!!
Undeflowered Pride!!!
Well, I realize that admitting this might make people think I’m more conservative than I actually am, but here goes. My husband and I both waited until we were married. Which was 5 months and 2 days ago. I was 23, he was 24. (this, however, is not to say that we’re prudes or anything, or that all we did was hold hands or some silly thing until the wedding night. Gimme a break! We are human.)
But I know lots of people who waited until marriage and didn’t get married until they were in their 30s. I even know a few who were in their 40s. And I know some people who are still waiting, and they’re in their 30s and 40s. So in some communities (mainly religious, I would guess), it’s probably less rare.
32, not too far from 33, here. Getting laid has just never been a priority for me. Given the time and effort most people seem to put into it, you’d think they’d come away with something more for the effort.
Meh. I am still in no hurry to change the situation. At the very least, I have no guilt over past indiscretions, nor do I have any emotional baggage over failed relationships to deal with.
DF, we must have been seperated at birth. The above is almost exactly the way I always explain my continuing chastity, except that I usually throw in a claim about it giving me superpowers.

Unlike most virginity websites which seem aimed only at heterosexual religious teens (or worse yet, focus only on girls), it seems to be written from the POV of a secular, celibate adult.
I know two guys who are still virgins at the ages of 28 and 25. Personally, I am a 19 y/o virgin, which I don’t consider very old, but some may disagree. Although I do have a sex drive and an open-minded attitude towards sex (I hate that some people have the idea that “old virgins” are sexually dysfunctional) I can think of several people I’m glad I didn’t have sex with. Can’t think of anyone I regret not sleeping with.
Apparently Isaac Newton was an 84 year old virgin…

I’m th’ oldest, so far. 38, goin’ on 39 this year. Probably the oldest brave/stupid enough to admit it.
Lots of friends, never anyone that close.
Lamia and Darwin’s Finch: me too.
There are just so many other things in life I want to do, and a relationship seems more trouble than it’s worth. I suppose if an opportunity for romance were to present itself I wouldn’t run away screaming, but it’s not something I feel the deep, burning need to pursue.

22 year-old virgin
Well I was a part of the club… until last Tuesday. In Liam’s livingroom on the hide-a-bed (Liam not being the guy who I gave it up to, rather we crashed at his place… tmi -shuts up-)
I took care of a patient more than 20 years ago who was 106, yes one hundred and six years old. Until she was way up in her eighties, she had been a traveling missionary in the rural south door to door doing “the Lord’s work”
One day I asked about family, children etc and she said " I never had no man–didn’t need or want one. The Lord is my family, my husband, my children, my everything. I decided early on to keep my body and my heart pure and I never broke that promise.
It sure sounds like she was a virgin to me.
Virgin maybe, but more likely a lemon!
