OK, I don’t normally get all starstruck and fanboy-ish but… I am particularly fond of Felicia. I went to see her improv theater team perform tonight at the Knightsbridge Theatre in L.A. The show was good, but the best part by far was getting to actually meet Felicia after the show. I talked with her for a minute and even got a photo with her! I touched her! And she touched me. swoon
She was super sweet in real life and this will surely be the highlight of my year. Here are a few photos of her performance:
Felicia 1 (I showed her this one on my camera and asked her if she would post it on Twitter, but for some reason she didn’t think it was a particularly flattering picture) Felicia 2 Felicia 3
And the coup de grâce, even though I look like a creepy pirate in this pic:
Definitely. But I would argue that her avatar is not hotter than reality by far. In fact she looks quite fantastic in reality.
I feel the same. I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to see Nicole Kidman or Megan Fox or anyone else because I just wouldn’t care that much. But as soon as I heard she was going to be performing in L.A. I booked my reservation with the sole mission of meeting her and getting a photo with her, and I fucking completed it. I felt such a natural high from that.
I was a little surprised by how kind and approachable she was, it wasn’t intimidating at all. (and the guy I gave my camera to to take the picture had no idea how to use an SLR so it took us a minute to get the shot but she was patient and sooo nice to me I can’t stop gushing over her)
One of my prized possessions is a picture of me with Tori Amos from around '97 or so. My crush on her was breathtaking. Felicia has replaced her as the top red-head in my heart.
What I’m saying, Rigamarole, is you lucky, lucky bastard.
I went to this and made eye contact with her, but felt a little silly going up to her, as I’d only seen her in Dr Horrible. Plus, I’d have probably gotten all giggly and this was kind of the after-party a bunch of people went to after a day surrounded by giggly nerds.
Totally agree. I’ve told this story here before, but it seems appropriate. At Comic-Con 07, a friend texted me to say she just ran into Felicia Day walking around the floor. Not five minutes later, I saw her! I did the usual “such a big fan, loved you in Buffy and Dr. Horrible” thing, and she was super nice and chatty. I said I hope she gets reanimated in another Dr. Horrible installment, and her eyes actually lit up! I asked if I could get a picture with her, and she said yes. She was nice enough to actually say “Oh, the flash didn’t go off. Better check it and make sure it came out ok. Let’s take another.”
How many celebrities would be truly concerned that the fan photo didn’t come out ok? Class act, and it’s clear she geeks out at this sort of thing as much as we do.
Yep. Vork a.k.a. Jeff Lewis is part of the improv troupe as well as Sandeep Parikh (Zaboo). They were both pretty funny, especially Sandeep. Technically I had the opportunity to meet them too after the show but I was a little too obsessed with meeting Felicia that once I completed my mission I left.
To be honest, I didn’t notice. It was a tiny venue that was fairly packed and I was busy trying to make sure the guy was taking the picture right. It would have been just a little too creepy if I had been sniffing all around her. But we’ll just go ahead and say yes, for fantasy purposes.
I think for a change of pace, if I ever met her I would say I loved her in the Sears commercials and would totally buy a dryer from her. In my minds eye, she would just laugh and laugh.
Yeah I went ahead and sent it to her on Twitter anyway saying “I can’t believe you didn’t think this was a flattering photo, it really shows your acting chops!” and she replied back to me: “Oh it’s actually really cute, it was dark backstage, my head looked bigger :D”
