God bless you Beta-chan, and keep you and your mother and father safe and healthy.
I’m grumbling as I have to go to work now. But a computer is not too far from my work station in the cafe, so I may have to sneak out fairly often to check on this thread.
After months of being told to be sticky, Beta-chan doesn’t understand the concept of getting unstuck. She played around with some labor-ish contractions, but didn’t progress, so we’re back to square one.
If this were the first birth, or if we weren’t so damn far away, we wouldn’t have worried so much. :o
Lots of excitement, then worry, then nothing. It’s been a tiring day, so we’re off to bed early, not knowing how many more nights we can get a quiet night’s sleep.
She’s just making sure you know who’s boss around there.
Beta-chan, sweetie, don’t frazzle your mommy and daddy, they need to be in good shape for when you make your grand entrance. Time to be slippy now, or very soon.
Good thoughts coming your way, for all three of you.
Beta-chan, please let them get a good night’s sleep, and then make your grand appearance. We’re all very excited about you. You’ve got thousands of virtual aunts and uncles waiting, and the very best Mommy and Daddy in the world.
Babies do have a way of letting you know who’s boss, don’t they now?
Okay, Beta-chan, you’ve had your chuckle for today – let Mama and Papa get a good night’s sleep, and then it’s time for you to join us and let your Papa take lots and lots and lots of gorgeous pictures of you and post them for all your aunties and uncles on the Dope to see and oooo over!
FWIW, if the missus stays up late, it may be a sign labor is near. The night before both of my kids’ birth I wasn’t sleepy, and stayed up until the wee hours reading in bed.
So, I got woken up after about 3-4 hours sleep for a verrrrry long day.
We did the get up in the middle of the night, and guess if the pains were bad enough to go. At 3:00, they woke her – and then me – up. They were pretty good contractions, coming every 5 minutes, like they should, but not lasting a full minute. We counted them for a half hour, debated calling the hospital (who will likely just tell us to take the 90 minute trip, to be safe) and when she had a few more good strong ones in a row, I got my mother up for the trip.
As soon as she knew that she had everyone’s attention, Little Sticky went back to sleep and the contractions came down in intensity. We joined her in stumber about 4:00 am, and we’re back to where we were yesterday morning. Probably just a test of the system.
I’m back to work today and on moment’s notice to fly out the door.
