OMG, is this it? Beta-chan, are you coming?

How exciting! Oh, I’m so happy for you…even before Beta-chan makes her official arrival.

I was in labor at least a week before going in to the hospital, but didn’t realize it. Some nights were very painful, then others I slept like a stone. It felt to me like the contractions were starting and stopping, but when we finally went in the machine showed they were quite regular and quite real whether I noticed them a lot. They ended up giving me Pitocin to help nudge me along, and RuffLlama was born when he damn well felt like it–about 18 hours after starting the Pitocin. He took his time, but once the water broke (on its own, mercifully), it was a very speedy ride.

I know you’ve heard this a thousand times, but enjoy sleep now if you can. I thankfully got the best night’s sleep I’ve had in nearky 3 years (heh) two days before I went to the hospital, and that seemed to help me make through an all-night labor.

Early congrats–we eagerly await the birth story, and the PICS!

Yes, that’s similar to what my wife says, that what she thought were strong contractions didn’t register very high, and the real ones were pretty regular

All cameras are charged. We can’t wait to use them!

Hopefully this is a good sign, and the happy family is now all snuggled in for some much needed sleep, plus one very cute little girl.

I’m sayin’, October 7 13:24 still a contenduh !!

Or sooner would be fine too. Yay baby!

You know, it’s been almost twenty hours since we’ve heard from TP. Granted he may have more important things to be doing just now.

Just, sayin’, that’s all.

The trick is to get Mrs. TokyoPlayer into an elevator, then to cut the power to the building. On TV, that’s a guarantee of instant labor.

After the couple of scares, things have slowed back down to hurry up and wait mode. It’s the weekend here, which allows me to be with her.

My wife is doing a little better now, and she’s not too bad.

My mother and her mother are both here, so we have four adults and four languages but only a maximum of two people can speak any one language.

it’s cheating a little, since my wife and her mother speak both Chinese and Taiwanese to each other. My mother and I talk in English, my wife and I talk in Japanese.

Beta-chan will have the delight of learning all 4 languages so that s/he can be your personal interpreter.

I’m out of the pool at 10-3. :frowning:

Well, Beta-Mama, as should would be called in Japan, is getting a small amount of red discharge and the location of her contractions is changing, although the intensity isn’t up to the degree the other day. Probably nothing, but the doctor said to come in and get another check.

Even if this is the start, it will likely still be a while before anything happens. Much less excitement this time, and probably won’t be until things start to really get going.

待つことが出来ない!(matsu koto ga dekinai) --> I can’t wait! itsumo (always) sticky thoughts~

NO! We want people to stop the sticky thoughts!

Another false alarm. :o The doctor said it could be tomorrow :)or in four days:(

Some mothers go through this stage really quickly, others cycle getting strong contractions, then it backs off. He said she hasn’t dilated any further and the effacement is still 50%.

Beta-mama is getting pains in the right places, and we hope it will be sooner than later.

It’s bed time now, I hope for a good night sleep.

Type to you tomorrow.

Wishing you all a very peaceful night’s sleep and good luck tomorrow!

and I will sing a lullabye.

I was lying in bed this morning, being Saturday and sleep late day. (It’s 7:28, so much for my sleeping in!) I was idly thinking about what I would do today, Saturday, the best day of the week. I wondered if somewhere far, far away, a little baby, so eagerly awaited would be born. Maybe!

It rained all night long, and I’m going to put more newspapers down in the back section of the garden as mulch. Rain, rain… it makes things lush and sometimes slippery.

I wish that all babies born in this world were as wanted and as anticipated as Beta-chan. How marvelous that would be!

Slippery, slippery, slippery…

Ditto.

It’s a big, big world. These tiny little creatures start off quickly in letting us know that they don’t care how it was done before, they have their own agendas. My daughter recently turned 3 and is now a schoolchild, and not much has changed about her since her conception. Tabula Rasa she was not.

Please get as much sleep as you can and make sure Mama Chan gets food in her on the way to the hospital, because once she is in, she won’t be able to eat. Do not forget! I went almost 48 hours without eating, but was only in active labor about 20 minutes.

I’ve been crying for joy at this child for 9 months. I can’t wait for you to get to meet her.

Every time, I go online, I think, is this it, is this it? Is she coming? I think about Beta-chan at various times during the day, wondering if she is here yet. My roomates know about you guys, and so does Mr J. & I look forward to telling them that she is here.
This is happening** all over the world**. So many people are happy about this little one and she will bring happiness all across the planet. What a beautiful way to come into the world.
Get Slippy, little Sticky…
Your world wants to meet you.

Teflon uterus, Teflon uterus, Teflon uterus*…

*also, band name!

A girl band, no doubt

Definitely!
A punk rock all-female band springs to mind. Let’s see if Beta-chan ends up being in a band when she’s older. That would be cool. She’ll post here asking for a band name, and that will be my contribution.
