:dubious::eek::smack:
cool::p:)
This guy looks more sarcastic now than this dude here :rolleyes:. That’s really my only beef. Get a snarkier :rolleyes:.
And c’mon, we still need a puking smiley. It doesn’t have to be gross or obvious. Just a nauseated one. This :eek: sort of works, but it’s not that great.
Yes, in fact I just now saw an old post that specifically refers to the blowjob smiley but actually displays the new, stoopid-looking pink thing.
I’m kinda upset they didn’t add 2 more smileys to fill out the rectangle. My OCD will forever be annoyed at that
I want the sciencefail smiley. This one ain’t bad either.
Lookit that little fella go!
He looks so content in his smashing. Like he’s thinking, “Yeah, smashing, this is why I exist.”
I believe these are the default vBulletin smileys. Last time we upgraded, they appeared for a few days until Jerry overwrote them with the older default vBulletin smileys due to popular demand.
Assuming, of course, that we can trust my memory.
RIGHT?!
yes, right.
I think you’re right. The version appears to be 3.8.7 now and looking at a cached page on google from earlier today, it was 3.7.3.
Yep. That’s my guess, too, especially since the facepalm one - :smack: - hasn’t updated, and that one was custom made for the SDMB.
WE HAVE A NEWER UPDATED VERSION OF VBULLETIN NOW?
Yippee! This means we can re-raise all the requests, over the years, for changes that were pooh-poohed in the past because “our older version of vBulletin can’t do that.”
Starting with: Let’s make a minor modification to the thread-list page to include the DATE of the OP of each thread, alongside the username of the OP. There’s plenty of room for it there. We can then know if a thread is old without having to open it to see the date of Post #1. In one of the many ATMB threads requesting something along these lines, it was suggested (by someone who runs another board) that a newer version can do this.
The rolleyes now looks like one I requested several months back. To me, it conveys a subtext of: “Why, of COURSE I wasn’t being sarcastic/intending a double entendre/making fun of you/him/her.” :rolleyes:
I just wish we didn’t have to lose the “What stupidity I have to listen to!” smiley to get it. I guess :dubious: will have to serve in that capacity for now.
I want the roll eyes guy back.
I’ll have to start typing “Dumb ass”, and I’ll get banned.
:dubious:
I think, for most of these smileys, I will just start typing things like :rolleyes: or or :eek: or :embarrassed: and so forth. Everyone will know what I mean. The new :eek: one (if you can call it that) look like Kermit The Frog barfing. Maybe this is the :barf: smiley everyone’s been asking for. We can invent our own smileys this way too, like :JewGuy: or :blowjob:
How about :JewGuyGivingBlowJob: or :JewGuyGivingWallyABlowjobWhileWinking:
I assume it displays the smileys you have cached (which would be the old ones) until/unless you refresh the page, at which point it reloads the graphics.
At least, that was my experience. At first, reading this thread (in IE, if it matters), I couldn’t figure out what people were talking about. “New smileys? They look exactly the same to me.”
::refresh page::
Oh.
I agree, the laptop at home shows the old MUCH BETTER ones.
But at least we can type in ALL CAPS!
:rolleyes:
This is a test of all caps
No we can’t.
I like the new smilies as they tend to soften the snark rather than amplify it. Interestingly Mr. Dubious is now more intense than the new rolley: he used to be less intense. Maybe I should modernize him and bring him in line with our pastel future. Maybe in a couple of months after the current set has been tried out.
Testing 1 2
Sure, mfm, like that will happen.
Sure, mfm, like that will happen.
Sure, mfm, like that will happen. :rolleyes:
Sure, mfm, like that will happen. :dubious:
'Ol dubious is a pretty serious guy! (It’s also even more apparent that he needs a shave.)
