Omni Magazines

Issues of Omni ranging in condition from fair to mint. Two or three are still in the original paper mailer.

Here’s what I have:

1979: Jan Feb Mar(2) May July Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
1980: Jan Feb Mar Apr May June Nov Dec
1981: Complete Year
1982: Jan Feb Sept Oct Nov
1983: Jan Feb Mar

My understanding is that some issues are more collectible than others, primarily for the artwork.

I don’t have time to become an eBay entrepreneur, or an expert on Omni magazine but I don’t want to recycle them if someone actually wants them.

I’m happy to send any or all of them (though probably in small batches) for the true cost of mailing them.

This magazine looks interesting. I’ll take all of them! I will be PMing you now to set things up.

I dumped an entire run, in rough to VF condition, when we moved. Just couldn’t justify hauling it around any more.

interested in this. going to pm you

I like to think of OMNI as a proto-Wired, dressed in an overabundance of gold and silver.

And, unfortunately, after the first three years of stellar content… bullshit.

Omni was great.

They printed an article from G. Gordon Liddy about how terrorist could have really f*cked up the US with very little effort that scared the crap out of me. Haven’t been able to find it since.

I found a box full of magazines at a Goodwill store near my house one time and it had a few Omnis in it. Had to dump the box when I got a mouse infestation in my garage. They apparently were more interested in nesting in the magazines than reading them….

Sounds a great deal more like Penthouse of the era, which ran ultra-literate articles and really hard-hitting investigative stuff. Didn’t last long. I glanced at an issue around 1990 and if there was a written item in it past third grade level, I missed it.

Same company as Penthouse. It was run by Guccione’s wife, in fact.
It’s shame that well-written articles from the past are better the 95% of the crap today and we have better access to information.

The whole run of the magazine is available (text only) on the Internet Archive
