Wow, that is quite the fucking story! I wonder how often Purdue Pharma reps visited him? I just finished reading Malcolm Gladwell’s latest which included lots of interesting stuff about the opiod crisis in the US (and pretty much only in the US) and it talks about Purdue. I’ve read and watched lots about that complete shitstain of a company outside Gladwell’s latest book. Fuck Purdue and this asshole of an oncologist!
This wouldn’t even be the worst case involving an oncologist for misdiagnosis and wrongful drug prescribing.
The former Seattle chief of police, who was demoted earlier this year for sexually harassing female officers and claimed to be gay as a defense, has now been fired after investigators discovered proof that he’d been having an affair with his female chief of staff who is now a Fox News reporter.
I listened to NPR today, and one of their reporters (Ashley Hiruko) has been pursuing this story from the beginning. She and a reporter from the Seattle Times (Sydney Brownstone) received a lot of criticism and derision, even from others in the media; they said she was reporting based solely on “rumors” and “gossip”. This guy must have slept thru the trainings like my HR has. Every year they have a 4 1/2 hour mandatory session about sexual harassment, gender and proper relationships in general. It’s hard to believe this cop could screw the pooch this way.

According to a report from the OIG, Diaz is believed to have had “an intimate or romantic relationship with a former SPD employee,” who has been identified as Diaz’s Chief of Staff, Jamie Tompkins. Tompkins resigned her position at SPD November 6. Before working at SPD, Tompkins was a news anchor at FOX 13 Seattle.
Anyone have a guess how long she continues to date Diaz now that he can’t continue her sinecure?

My bad, I got that part backwards. Really, the funny part about this story is that he thought going on right-wing talk radio and claiming to be gay would make the allegations go away.
Hell, I found that story just after ordering my birthday dinner at Red Lobster. 
Fortunately, as long as I don’t have to look at or smell putrid garbage it doesn’t really sicken me, so I was still able to polish off my giant plate of shrimp and fries and cheddar biscuits.
And he bragged about how it job-proofed him!
In one instance Diaz relayed a conversation he’d had with the mayor about his sexuality to one witness, saying “after the conversation I just had with the Mayor, there’s no way he can get rid of me now.”
And just for a little icing on the cake, the mayor has announced that Diaz’s replacement will be the former police chief of Madison, WI… who also sexually harassed female officers during his tenure there.
Oh, fer crying out loud! Aren’t there any decent police chiefs in this country? We keep getting stinkers.
Update on this one: the husband and 49 other men have been found guilty.
