Omnibus Evil MFers in the news thread

Probably unrelated, but my work is across the street from an airport and I spent the better part of the morning watching them trying to catch a loose husky that’s been running around since yesterday.

Here in Japan then the locks usually have blue and red indicators. When locked from inside, it turns the outside indicator red.

The design should have the doors aligned so they naturally hang partway open unless bolted closed. Adminttedly, should is doing all the lifting in that sentence.

I’ve been in men’s rooms, particularly in airports, in which the stall doors default to fully shut. (Though now I’m wondering why I’m talking about that in this thread.)

You have a naturally wide stance?

I think there’s an ADA requirement that wheelchair-accessible toilets have stall doors that drift close by themselves. But that’s certainly true of your basic everyone-else stall.

Restroom stalls are like refrigerators: you want to retain the air on the inside.

Did it have a thousand-yard stare? Maybe that’s the one that got away.

(I joke but really, animal abuse is fucking infuriating. I love dogs.)

Maybe?

I’m a dog lover.

I think, perhaps industrial vehicles do not show the gentle touch that a human with treats can accomplish. Perhaps they should go for a softer approach.

I know you’re joking, but that front end loader isn’t all that close to them, I’m just really zoomed in.
However, the guy in the high-vis vest was sitting in the grass, trying to get the dog to come to him.

For the most part, they kept a pretty hands-off/no chasing approach. It’s tough since, on the one hand, it’s an airport and the dog has a lot of room to run. On the other hand, it’s an airport and they really can’t have a dog running around. I’m curious how many delays it caused. I didn’t see any go-arounds or diversions. I did see some delayed takeoffs, but I have no idea if was an out of the ordinary amount, or even related to this.

There was 4 or 5 pick up trucks out with them as well, my suggestion was to have one some of them leave a door open and see if the dog hops in voluntarily. At one point, they even brought more dogs in. I don’t know if all these dogs knew each other but I assume they were hoping the one they wanted to catch would show some interest in them, which it did, for about 30 seconds, then it was back to running.

Ive had to chase down loose doggos at the airport, years ago when I worked cargo. Poor scarred things.
I wasn’t on duty when a cat got loose in the hold of a Dash 8.

I would always take them for a walk/pee and clean out their kennels when they were with us on stop overs. Couldn’t believe how many people would just leave a dog in its kennel, with its own crap for hours.

I got a lot of licks and snuggles of appreciation. Also some good memories of having a pile of mini dachshound puppies ornament my keyboard.

From the annals of Doctors Behaving Badly:

So what’s wrong with a physician taking syringes of…
something…on a hike?

But let’s not rush to judgment.

*amazing how fast professional websites purge people these days.

If I might attempt to hijack this thread about the logistics of killing dogs with a story about an evil MF in the news, here’s the tale of a Seattle man who decided to get rid of his 40-year collection of child porn by tossing 14 binders of it into a dumpster - along with his medical paperwork that had his name and handwriting on it.

https://www.theolympian.com/news/state/washington/article302764664.html

At least he had the wisdom to throw this stuff out in the dumpster behind his apartment. Not, say, halfway across town at an elementary school.

“Yes, sir, Officer Obie, I cannot tell a lie, I put that envelope under that garbage.”

Oh yeah, I saw that on the local news yesterday. Binders? I guess even child-lusting monsters can be organized.

I thought of making that joke but I thought it was bad taste.

In any event, I’m sure that even the Group W bench is too good for him.

Hello Atamasama of 2023, this is Max_S from the year 2025. You may be interested to learn that Ms. Franke and her family therapist were each sentenced to 30 years for such heinous acts as binding children’s limbs to weights with duct tape, or dressing their wounds with cayenne peppers. There was a Hulu documentary and the State of Utah even passed a law requiring content creators to set up a trust for minors who provide the content, and allowing minors to take down said content when they come of age.

My wife is obsessed (in a horrified, seeing a bad accident kind of way) with that documentary, and she has even seen that woman’s house in person more than once since her parents live in Mesquite, NV, not too far from there. (It’s about a 50 minute drive away.)

The really ironic thing is that my wife saw that mansion before she knew the story behind it and used to admire it before she knew what happened there.
