In all seriousness, I think the selfie argument was just the trigger for something that had been brewing for a long time, and given the location he saw an opportunity.

That guy wanted her dead for a long time. Cliffs seem to awaken the sudden “Wow, here’s a way to make it look like a tragic accident” thought in a lot of douchy douchebags.

A very tall woman who works at Walmart was assaulted in the bathroom by a man who rushed in and falsely accused her of being a man in drag.
Walmart responded by firing her for not reporting the assault fast enough.
Being fired from Walmart ought to be a badge of pride that results in instant job offers from better employers.

This being the Straight Dope, I think it’s fair to point out that this is an article repeating a Facebook claim. No other corroboration.
It rings true to me. “You told an hourly manager instead of a salaried manager, so we’re terming you for failing to report a security risk” is exactly the kind of boneheaded CYA move a company like Walmart would come up with to avoid actually addressing the fact that the trans bathroom panic has actually caused the behavior it ostensibly seeks to prevent, I.e. cis men entering women’s restrooms and assaulting cis women.
I’m not saying the story isn’t plausible, because it is. But social media posts aren’t exactly reliable sources.
