It would be fitting if a bunch of Knights Who Say Ni turned up at his court hearings to say “Ni” at him. Perhaps with herrings and a shrubbery. But only if it can be made clear they oppose his use of their name.

The Seattle Times has run an op-ed by the King County GOP calling on Seattlites to welcome military rule because they’ll get rid of the filthy poors and browns.
It’s funny that the picture illustrating the article shows 3 brown national guardsmen.
I receive the daily Seattle Times “Morning Brief” email where they link to the day’s biggest news, features, traffic, and op-eds. This op-ed thankfully was not mentioned. The piece is ludicrous, with statements that make zero sense and have nothing to back them up. For once, the comment section is full of reasoned responses pointing out the ridiculousness of the arguments.
For people outside the area: the Seattle Times is a reasonably centrist newspaper.

The article leaves the impression that the light “sentence” was a consequence of the state’s juvenile offender law - but it appears that a hefty prison term is still possible under the law.
We are reminded that “These acts are not excusable; however, they are typically motivated by peer pressure, a lack of impulse control, a failure to recognize the severity of the offense, a lack of understanding of the nature of the law, and relaxed inhibitions fueled by alcohol or drug use.”
