Omnibus Evil MFers in the news thread

Yeah, a good bread knife is sort of like a hack saw. We’re not talking about a butter knife here.

Demo saw. Best dismemberment tool evah.

Or so I have heard*…

*"Law & Order: Criminal Intent" Gods & Insects (TV Episode 2010) - IMDb

Must they be clear? Unless you want to wear it and nothing else underneath, for that atavistic “I am the prehistoric hunter yet I stay clean” feeling?

Home depot has paper ones for painting that can be burned.

How do you remember that stuff? I barely remember writing it! ¯_(⊙_ʖ⊙)_/¯

The line:

“Look, has anybody here besides me actually removed a human head from its body?”

stuck with me. It deserves to be engraved in the SDMB hall of fame.

LOL, fair enough. In real life, I have on occasion used variants of that line when talking with lay persons who declare they have greater knowledge than I on certain medical topics. Discussing removing a head was unique to the SDMB for me, though.

Yeah, not likely that someone can top that experience.

I want to read that thread. Can someone point me to it?

Thanks!

Heh.

We just finished watching 6ixtynin9 last night.

I suspect the biggest trick is getting the blade between vertebrae so you don’t have to cut bone, otherwise, some patience and determination will get the job done.

Ah, but sewing in on next to the other head-now there’s the trick.

You certainly don’t read/hear that every day…

It kind of stuck in peoples’ minds.

It just underscores that what, for doctors, is “just Tuesday” can be quite alarming to the rest of us.

What if you just sawed through all of the muscle and maybe tendons and the like, and then pulled/twisted/kicked etc. the head? Would you be able to separate the vertebrae that way?

Just like carving a turkey.

Exactly what I was thinking, just twist it off. It would probably resist that twisting, but you could use a board C-clamped to the head for added torque, or maybe just insert a broom handle into the mouth.

I think the cheeks and mandible (at the TMJ) would tear away before the inter-vertebral connective tissue would give way.

Besides, head removal and other such procedures should be elegant, don’t you think? There’s as much art as there is science to such things, IMNSHO.

So, it’s twist and pull.
