Omnibus Evil MFers in the news thread

Depends; is the gramnar any good? If good, it was AI. If wacky, it was human.

Very well said.

As is obvious from my history I’m anti-pet in general.

But not anti-animal welfare. Deliberately producing genetically contorted and defective animals for essentially decorative reasons is majorly ethically wrong.

Just Say No.

Since this is the Omnibus Evil MFs in the news thread, two evil organizations have lawsuit dismissed.

Perhaps he was encouraged to do so by Kyle Reese or another soldier from the future war against artificial intelligence?

“OpenAI is out there! It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop… EVER! Until you are dead!”

Just so we’re clear, the evil MFer being discussed here is Sam Altman, right?

The thread title is plural. We’re allowed more than one evil MFer at a time.

Okay, I chuckled aloud.

Me too.

Amen to that. The skull on the left is from an English Bulldog a hundred years ago, on the right is from today.

Having said that, Desertroomie and I have two breeds, an Anatolian Shepherd in the Working group and a Saluki in the Hound group. Both breeds are rare – there are only about 4,000 Anatolians in the US-- and with a few exceptions the breeders are a close-knit group vigilant against the show dog drift GSDs have been subjected to. Unlike the popular breeds, no one is in it for the money.

Anatolians became a recognized breed by the AKC in 1995 of '96 and before that, from the mid '80s at least, there was a huge debate among the breeders whether they wanted the Anatolian breed recognized by the AKC at all, lest it become a decorative instead of a working breed.

Searched and did not find this on the Board.
Evil AF …

Og’s bones, how do you raise someone like that…

That seems to be placing the blame squarely on the parents, not on whatever screw is probably loose in the defendant kid’s head.

There is also no info on how this blended family came into being.

If we assume e.g. the victim daughter came from one parent of the current adult couple and a prior spouse / SO while the defendant son came from the other parent of this adult couple and a prior spouse / SO, these two teens with no common bio-parents may have met & started living together as siblings just a few months ago. Or maybe they have one bio-parent in common among this adult couple and have been living together as half-sibs since they were toddlers.

We just don’t know. But my examples demonstrate the extreme possibilities, with many more in between.

The article does say ‘stepsister’, which implies no common bio-parents. Also, the article says that the male parent is the bio father of the deceased girl.

Furthermore:

“He committed these crimes against a victim with whom he had no apparent relational strife, and whom he was being raised to view as a sibling,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Alejandra López said in a court filing.

All of these cites indicate (to me, at least) that this is/was a blended family, and the female parent is the bio mother of the accused.

I’ll buy that. Son comes from Mom, daughter comes from Dad.

The larger issue IMO is how long they’d been step-sibs. “Being raised” could have started 3 months ago or 15 years ago. Especially since those are the words of a prosecutor, not a family member, it’s hard to have confidence those lines can be read between reliably.

Lifelong bio-sibs occasionally kill one another. But the violence rate within family units goes waay up as the time they’ve been together goes down.

It’s like the Brady bunch, but this kind of Brady.
