The series finale was in 2016, so they haven’t been doing their thing for a decade now.
The “B Team” got fired before the end of the show, and it was only Adam and Jamie after that. Though the B Team did show up for the finale episode as a reunion.
Adam Savage does various online things. He talks a lot about his time on MythBusters and also talks about his time as a special effects creator and prop maker on his YouTube channel/show called “Tested”. He also shows off props and gadgets he’s working on. I like to watch it now and then.
Jamie Hyneman was always the more introverted of the two leads and didn’t seem to care much for being in the spotlight, and disappeared after the show ended. I assume he’s still working in the industry doing special effects work.
As for the B Team, unfortunately Grant Imahara passed away 6 years ago of an aneurysm at age 49. Kari Byron and Tory Belleci started up a podcast called “MythFits” about a year ago, and I’ve been following them. It’s mostly them reminiscing on the show and bringing in celebrity guest friends for interviews. It’s a good show and there’s a good amount of behind-the-scenes dirt from the original show. I highly recommend it.
I’m sure someone could follow in the footsteps of the original show doing stuff on YouTube if there was an audience for it.
Someone made a false accusation to CPS that Pete Buttigieg is a child molestor, causiing him to have his kids taken away from him overnight.
An anonymous report, of course.
I can’t really think of a remedy for this, charges of child molestation need to be taken seriously, and charges against some people, especially people with money and/or power, might need to be anonymous sometimes, but it’s awful that Buttigieg and his husband have no recourse against that person, who has now gotten away with it.
Whoever you are out there, you are sick and evil and deserve no kind of happiness in your life.

I hope they do figure out who made that call, and throw the book at them. (This is NOT the same as someone filing a report because they have reason to believe a child may be in danger, and an investigation reveals that the fears were unfounded.) Betcha there was a child in the Traverse City area who really WAS being abused, and couldn’t get help because of this garbage.
Not yet explained is why police and child protective services would take seriously a report originating secondhand from an apparently anonymous person.
If that account is correct, someone needs investigating, and it isn’t Buttigieg.
The remedy is for the police to not do anything based solely on an anonymous report.
Is that practical for accusations of this nature? Disgusting that they had to endure this, but if it was standard practice to ignore such “tips,” imagine when one turned out to be true.
Seriously, I’m just not sure of anything here (other than the fact that this accuser is a despicable asshole).
At some point in the recent past many jurisdictions adopted the policy that this is such a critical situation that you MUST take protective action first and ask questions later, including as a result of anonymous tips.
This was done because of too many cases in the past of neighbors/acquaintances/extended family not reporting proactively because of not wanting to get their name involved and creating an antagonic situation; and thus too many cases of “why did no one say something before it got this bad” afterward.
People in regulated or licensed professions that interact regularly with the family unit (health care, teaching) could be legally compelled to become “mandatory reporters”, but plain old neighbors or merchants couldn’t be, so instead the policy choice was to make it easy to report w/o risk of consequence.
The hoaxster’s claim was that they met Buttigieg at a conference of some sort and this former Cabinet secretary and presidential candidate just decided to tell this absolute stranger that he rapes his children. That’s Satanic Panic levels of ridiculous. Taking his kids away from him, even temporarily, on the basis of such a flimsy accusation is ridiculous and I hope Pete sues the pants off of CPS.
The idea that something like this got through whatever kind of bullshit detector CPS is allowed in such cases of accusation is ridiculous. Was there no degree of cross-examination of the allegation allowed? No look at the background of the accuser, even if they allow them to be anonymous? If something like this turned into a criminal case, would anything derived from this allegation be admissible? It’s outrageous.
A Michigan couple is facing murder charges after the death of their 7 year old son in November 2025.
Casper O’Brien weighed 255 pounds when he died. According to the link, his diet was primarily chips and fries.
It’s bad enough that the kid died. But he was covered under the family’s health insurance policy.
His parents were arrested and charged with second-degree murder, torture and three counts of second-degree child abuse in connection with the 2025 death.
Are we saying there’s no middle ground between “completely ignore a report” and “take away children from their parents”?
Ignore it and go in and take away the kids are not the only options.
As I mentioned, I’m not sure how to resolve the dilemma between “protect children from reported child abuse” and “protect adults from frivolous, possibly hostile, unfounded accusations.”
Sincere question, not expecting there is no answer, what was the middle ground in this instance? (And I’ll repeat, just in case it got missed, I hate they had to endure this, and the accuser is a criminal asshole.)
Investigate the claims, of course. What evidence did the tipster offer? If none other than “he told me so”, then you close the investigation. If they claim to have seen something, get details, who, what, when, where. If any of the people allegedly involved can show they weren’t there at the time, then you close the investigation. If the claim isn’t patently ludicrous on its face, then you talk to both the alleged perpetrators and the alleged victims.
A brief investigation or some kind of follow up, something to at least establish probable cause. Certainly not the insane, probably illegal policy of taking children into custody based on an incredibly improbable anonymous report void of any evidence.
If someone accuses a person of murder as a random tip, cops don’t go arrest that person and throw them in jail immediately because that would be fucking lunacy.
Never discount the possibility that the cops couldn’t wait to take his kids away. Some cops can’t wait to shoot a citizen in the face. Some cops can’t wait to choke a person out.
