Today’s edition of Dirtbags In The News features a man arrested for spitting on and threatening a hospital worker wearing a hijab outside a University of Kentucky hospital facility. He was caught after being photographed wearing a UK “Welcome Home” t-shirt.
This wasn’t his only confrontation, based on a separate incident this month at Lexington’s Good Samaritan Hospital.
Well alrighty then.
Some people’s faces just scream “Incarcerate me for the good of society.” He is one such.

Singer D4vd lost his high-profile private lawyers Monday at a hearing where he entered a new not guilty plea to charges that he killed, sexually abused and dismembered 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
It’s not clear why Blair Berk and her colleagues Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter parted ways with the indie-pop singer whose legal name is David Anthony Burke. They were replaced by a lawyer from the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office.

Burke earned at least $10 million through his music from 2023 through 2025, according to testimony from his money handlers at a previous hearing. It’s not clear how he financially qualifies for a public defender whose job is to defend clients who lack the money for a lawyer.
So he blew through the $10 million dollars and is now broke.
MC Hammer made so much more and also went broke. People get famous and rich so fast and get the feeling that the money is infinite, until they run out.
Evil. But also stupid.
A 17-year-old North Carolina girl who recorded a livestream of a shooting that killed three people at a San Diego mosque and disseminated the attackers’ white-supremacist writings has been charged with murder by aiding and abetting, a district attorney said Monday.
According to the indictment, Santiago agreed prior to the attack that she would record the livestream, distribute it and release a document written by the attackers. She carried out those tasks, it said, and she purchased a patch bearing a white-supremacist symbol and sent it to one of the gunmen to wear during the attack.
Of course, MC Hammer didn’t have to pay to defend himself against charges that he dismembered someone. I imagine those fees add up pretty quickly.

*the lawyer’s bio states that he’s “litigated thousands of criminal cases”, was chairman of the first statutory Gambling Board in KwaZulu-Natal, a Fulbright scholar, has 3 law degrees and is an ordained minister. Truly a Renaissance man.
I’m not generally a fan of “Accessories are as culpable as the primary players” laws, but this one sorta fits.
I imagine he’d bludgeon someone, no dismemberment.
I think that in some jurisdictions, public defenders are available to all, and the rich usually just choose to pay lawyers because they believe (rightly or wrongly) that they’ll get better representation that way.
